Chapter One
Song for the chapter; Purple Rain - Lee Minhyuk (BTOB)
_______________
Jeon Jeongguk is a rough man, well, sometimes, when he wanted to be. So, when the whole dance studio was filled with the voice of his band members and their manager arguing, he flipped off. He might have yelled some words - most of those which are probably not suitable for idols to say. It was a major tantrum, Jeongguk had managed to break open one surface mirror and punched a crack on the wall. Then finally, with a bleeding fist he glared at every single one of his band members in the studio before fleeing. While walking away, Jeongguk pulled his mask up, ignoring the way everyone looked at his watery eyes on the reflection of the lift,
ignoring the way everyone whispered softly to each other when he passed by them. No one bothered or dared to follow after him, knowing that the maknae is at the scariest in situations like this
He wasn't at fault.
He didn't do it.
So why the hell are they still blaming him?
Still believing in that. . . that bullshit.
Walking out of the company still in his sweats and T-shirt from practicing, he strided with his head down. He ignored the stares he recieved from passerbys for being dressed in black from head to toe when it was 100 degress outside. He ignored the stares he recieved at the bus stop. He ignored the ones he recieved on the bus. Because sometimes, life was better ignoring.

"It's your fault," Hoseok stated, throwing a harsh glare in the direction of Namjoon. The said boy threw him a nasty look, turning away from him with clenched fist. "If you haven't even mentioned it, none of this would happen." Hoseok continued, stomping over to his bag angrily. "If something happened to Gguk, I will never forgive you guys." And with that said the second oldest member left the studio, leaving Yoongi and Namjoon to sulk.
It wasn't supposed to go that way. Jeongguk and the rest of Unity One had today planned out - they'd go to practise for their new song, then stay at their dorm for take out, beer and a movie. He was looking forward to it, it was rare that they had days like these. But then, Namjoon just had to kill the mood. It wasn't his fault, but being the second youngest member of the team, he had been no doubt having the pressure of the comeback and the recent case concerning Jeongguk too. With a heavy huff, he ran a hand through his hair before grabbing his bag and leaving.
Yoongi called out for his band members and then sighed loudly when all of them left within just seconds away from each other. "Aish...these kids." He blew his bangs away from his face and placed his hands on his hips - there was no doubt that practice was over for today. He too was stressed, since he was the leader of Unity One, there was so much pressure on him. Recent suspicion and cases on the maknae and the comeback and the criticism from their fan had been taking a toll on him. So far it seemed like he was the only one that had been holding the band together.
Jeongguk laid on the bench of the park, to unknowing eyes he'd probably look a homeless gruff, with black clothes from head to toe and a mask covering half of his face. He ran his hands through his hair as he stared at the trees and the sky. There were several students around since it was 4 in the evening, kids and parents bonding and some of the people just being alone, just like himself.
He let out a sigh, falling back on the bench with a heavy sigh.
When is everything going to be better?
A sniffle came from where he was seated and Jeongguk almost got a whisplash from turning around so quick. There was a boy, probably around his age sat on the far end of the bench, lightly sniffling into the palm of his hands. The idol just sat there, not having a tiny bit of idea on what to do.
Shut up, he thought, I'm the one who's supposed to be breaking down.
Jeongguk just closed his eyes and leaned back on the bench, a random stranger crying on the streets is none of his fucking problem, anyways.
"You can't just go around breaking hearts like that, I love you." Jeongguk heard from the boy and this time, he turned around slowly to see the boy speaking softly in his phone. "I didn't do it, goodness, trust me. I wasn't - I was tricked, okay?! I didn't know -" It was quiet for a while between the two, the sniffling boy just looking down to his feet as he listened to whatever the other person was saying in the phone.
"Jaemin-hyung!" The boy yelled. "Wait, don't hang up - I. . . Hello? Hello?!"
Jeongguk admits he was nineteen and immature, he had said things before thinking about the affect it had on people, he had been into so, so, so much scandals and problems. But that day? Would he call that very day a blessing or a curse? He's not so sure himself. What he was sure was, that he took out everything on someone he didn't know - knowing so much how wrong it was. But when you're mad and sad, it's only normal that you burst on something or someone at some point; and Jeongguk has been on the verge of bursting for so long.
Jeongguk shook his head, judging him in so many ways possible as he looked away from him. He could still hear the soft sniffles from beside him. "It's pathetic." He mumured and the boy beside him turned to look at him, Jeongguk just stared with cold eyes, "You're pathetic." He continued, standing up to leave. "You're crying over someone that left you, it's not worth it. Plus, they probably don't love you."
"You don't know me," He heard the boy's voice, and turned back to look at the boy, "In fact, you don't know us." the boy snapped, wiping his eyes as he run his finger through his orange-y, brown-y hair.
"Oh okay." Jeongguk shrugged and walked away, figuring that there's not much he would gain from arguing with a random stranger he found on the street. He heard footsteps following him and he rolled his eyes and he continued walking with his head down in case someone noticed him.
"'Oh okay'? You're not even going to apologize?" Jeongguk was harshly pulled back by the boy and he whined, pushing the boy away, immediately glaring at him.
"No, I won't apoligize to you." They stood under the maple tree for seconds, just giving each other instense glares and yet - they didn't even know each other's names.
"You're being very mean right now, you know. Jeonngguk rolled his eyes, the boy fucking sounds like a five year old." Jeongguk had the urge to take him by the neck and throw him to the floor.
"What? You want me to cradle you in my arms and cuddle you until you stop being such a fucking kid?" Jeongguk snapped, watched as the boy's full lips turned into a frown, but still the boy looked so good and Jeongguk wondered how the hell that was possible but he turned away, glaring at the trees. This was not the time for that.
The boy looked down at the ground, wiping at his eyes. Maybe they were right about you. the boy continued and Jeongguk immediately flashed his gaze back to him to look at with bewilderment, his fidgeting hands reached up to his face, seeing if his mask was still there. It was.
"W-What?"
"I used to be a big fan, but now that I see you, I don't see any reasons why what the press is saying should be wrong. That's right, Jeon Jeongguk, I know you. That mask don't really do a good job to someone who had been staring and falling in love with you through the screen for five years." The boy gritted out, turning to walk away, tears still pooling in his eyes because of the break up that had occured not less than 5 minutes ago.
"You don't know me." Jeongguk mumbled, repeating what the other boy just said, I was just stressed; I needed to let it out somehow, I'm sorry. Please, it's not true, they're not true. Jeongguk wanted to take another step, instantly feeling sorry and so fucking bad because he's a fucking idol and he should've known better than to go out in public and talk to a random stranger, much less insult him. He was just stressed, he swear.
"Now I do." was all the boy said before he walked away, hugging the thin jacket of his school coat around himself.
Jeongguk was left speechless - what was he supposed to say? Run after a random stranger and apologize? He sighed and let out a loud yell, ignoring the stares he got from passersby. Maybe they were right, they were probably right about him. And with that thought in mind, the idol boy ran, far and far away from everything he had ever came to know about himself.
It really wasn't his fault.
