is as silly as telling an old tree
that it need not live
any longer
for forgetting is being afraid
it is the fear
of acknowledging the pain
again
remembering the tears
again
feeling the pain
again

tell the tree to live its last days
and try to remember
how sturdy you've been
move on; don't forget.

and eventually you'll remember without hurting anymore
