Someone had said very well, "Do not play with someone's feelings just because you are unsure of your own." He had everything that anyone could ask for, money, name, status, yet he wasn't happy.

Why ? Because he himself pushed it away from himself just because of his ego and his obsession for Blood, name and lineage.

There she stood infront of him, looking ethereal in an off white lehenga and minimal make up. He stood there admiring her beautiful face, although it lost it's glow because of him. The eyes which used to twinkle with mischief were now lifeless and those orbs were accusing him of betrayal.

He could hear his family calling him and may be they were confused seeing him staring a girl outside this banquet hall attached to the restaurant where his brothers brought him, despite his denials. Tears made their way down her cheeks.

Shivaay mentally thanked his brother and family for bringing him here forcefully because he saw here after whole three years. He was happy, until a girl came and said something to her that broke his already weak heart into millions of pieces and then crushed those broken pieces.

"Ani what are you doing here ? It's your engagement and you are here. Come inside, everyone is waiting for you." The girl said and Anika answered while still staring him, "I'm Just coming in a while."

He had no courage to make a move. His legs betrayed him and stood numb at his place seeing her moving backwards with her eyes fixed on him and accusing him for giving so much of pain to her.

He felt unbearable pain in his heart and her accusing eyes were killing him and he gasped for breath.

The sky cried along with his heart and he stood unaffected in the rain. She turned her back towards him to leave. He fell down with a thud as the pain in his heart increased. He could hear his family's shouts but his eyes were fixed on her blur image.

"Shivaay !!!" Anika shouted and ran towards him. She fell on her knees and took his head in her lap

He smiled as the pain felt nothing when she turned to see him. Hope made a way to his heart again as he could see her concern although his vision was blurry. He could feel her hand caressing his cheeks and her soft lips lingering on his forhead and then she shouted at someone for calling and ambulance.

Throughout the way to the hospital his head was in her lap and she was speaking to him, encouraging him to not fall asleep. He didn't listen even a single thing but enjoyed her warmth. He kept staring her face although not able to see clearly.

As the doctors brought him to the ICU, her hand slipped away from his hands. He wanted to hold her and not let her leave him alone. The doctors and even his family tried to free his hands from her hand but his grip was tight despite his critical condition.

It was only Anika who could control him be it in any situation. She bent down and kissed his forhead. He forgot everything else and taking it as a chance she freed her hand from his hold.

As soon as the door of ICU closed, her tears flowed uncontrollably. She didn't move from where their hands were separated. She stood there, staring the ICU without blinking her eyes.

All the happenings were too depressing and confusing for the whole Oberoi family. Shivaay's condition was already making them stressed but what they witnessed in last two hours was something they could never imagine.

Shivaay was crying seeing a girl, his condition worsened as he heard about her engagement, She was crying and shouting for him and even left her own engagement function to accompany Shivaay till hospital. And now that girl was standing infront of the ICU like a lost soul and not even for a minute her tears stopped.

Doctor came out of ICU and she rushed towards him to know about Shivaay's condition. "You must be aware that he is a heart patient. His heart is weak and his condition is worsening with time. Medicines won't help, surgery is needed. But..." the doctor stopped seeing the girl's crying face and he didn't know how to reveal it to her.

"But what doctor ? Say it clearly !" She shouted and jerked the doctor while holding his collar.

"He is suffering from depression that's why even medicines aren't helping him. He needs to be happy, only then we can think about the surgery. Otherwise... you may lose him." The doctor  said and left from there.

The whole Oberoi family already knew it from the beginning so they weren't as  shocked as her. They were unaware of the reason of Shivaay's depression and whatever they did to take him out of it was useless.

Anika stumbled as the doctor's words registered in her mind. She sat on the floor, leaning to the wall and cried cupping her mouth. Her hands were unable to suppress her loud wails.

She looked so vulnerable that no body had the courage to call her, to ask her who she was and how does she know Shivaay ? But then, someone's shout made her shudder and someone pulled her by holding her shoulders tightly.

"What are you doing here ? Why are you doing this drama, for whom ? Weren't you satisfied by destroying my friend's life that you came here again to trap him ?" Sidharth shouted and Anika looked at him like someone snatched her life from her. She felt like her soul left her body.

"Yes. You're right. You are good, and...And your friend is great. I'm the bad one here. I don't deserve to be here. Good bye." Anika said as she harshly wiped her tears and walked from there.

"Who she was, Sid bhaiya ? Why did you talk so badly with her ? She was crying seeing bhaiya and..." Rudra broke the dreadful silence but was stopped by Sidharth.

"Just let it be. She's a closed chapter of Shivaay's life. Don't talk about her infront of Shivaay at all. And I'm going to check him. You all can meet him once he's conscious." Sidharth said and went into ICU leaving others in more confusion.

The name that left Shivaay's mouth after he gained consciousness was 'Anika'. He ignored his family and his friend and his eyes kept searching for her.

"Where's she ? S..She came here, she was with me. Where's she now ? Si..sid she.. was here. My ani was here." Shivaay got up from his bed despite Sidharth's trials to stop him but he didn't stop and Sid had to shout.

"She's gone. I threw her out because I don't want her to break your heart more. What kind of a man you are ? She broke your heart and betrayed you but you're still behind her ? Stop torturing yourself for that selfish girl..." Sidharth shouted as loudly as he could until Shivaay held his collar and shouted back at him.

"She didn't betray me. She wasn't selfish but me. I was the one who betrayed her for my obsession of high status and Lineage. I was the one who destroyed my own life. It was me who broke her heart." Shivaay threw it all out making Sidharth freeze at his place.

Shivaay fell down on his knees and cried. Sidharth didn't support him because he realised that his friend was wrong, not the girl whom he kept cursing all the time. Anger flowed down is veins as he realised he had been behaving like a fool who wasn't able to see whose fault it was.

"What did you do ?" Sidharth once again asked from Shivaay in a calm voice.

"I chose my ideologies over her love. I broke her heart. ( looking at his family as well ) You all wanted to know why I don't want to get treated ? Because I know I broke her to an extent that she will never forgive me and come back to me. And I don't want to live without her. She left me. Sh..She le..ft m.." He couldn't complete his sentence and fell unconscious.

Sidharth made him lay down on the bed again and came out along with the family members.

"What is all this, Sidharth ? We want to know everything." Janvi questioned Sid and he knew he can't hide it now.

"we'll shift Shivaay to general ward. Then I'll everything to you." Sid answered to janvi and left from there. After shifting Shivaay yo the general ward, they went to the hospital's waiting room to talk.

"Anika, was Mallika's friend. I knew her already but shivaay met her in Mallika's birthday part four years ago. She is an orphan but still proud of her identity, Just Dr. Anika." Sidharth smiled as Shivaay and Anika's journey played in his mind.

"Leave it, I selected it first." Anika said to the blue eyed man standing infront of her.

"Listen, just select something else. ( to the shopkeeper ) I'll pay double the price for this. Give it to me." The blue eyes man Said with tons of attitude and Anika looked at him like she would kill him.

"What do you think of yourself Mr ? You can't just show your attitude to get what you want. Just go and find some other gift, this is mine." Anika said and snatched the delecate showpiece made of glass from him.

"How dare you argue with me ? Do you even know who I am ? Shivaay Singh Oberoi. And I can buy this whole shop in a second." He finally threw his favourite dialogue at her.

"Oh ! Then why are you behind this glass showpiece. Go and buy the shop. Why are you waiting my time. And by the way, if you are Shivaay Singh Oberoi, then I'm also Dr. Anika. Only Dr. Anika." She said with equal attitude and asked the shopkeeper to pack it for her.

This didn't go well with SSO's male, bigger than his height ego and he broke the glass showpiece into pieces. He picked up a similar showpiece and asked the shopkeeper to pack it but It angered Anika like hell. So she also broke the glass piece he selected.

Like this, both of them broke dozens of showpieces. Hadn't Sidharth came on time, the shop would have been empty and shopkeeper would have been in the hospital.

"Anika, Shivaay stop it, both of you. ( to shivaay ) I asked you to get the gift packed, not to break one. ( to Anika) and you, why are you behaving like this ?" Sidharth asked from both the egoistic idiots.

"You know this bagadbilla/ Badtamaaz girl ? How dare you to call me Badtamaaz girl/ bagadbilla ? I'll kill you... urghhh.. " both of them shouted together.

Sidharth had to spend whole day to manage his own best friend as well as best friend of his fiancee Mallika, not to forget the shopkeeper as well.

The whole Oberoi clan smiled as they imagined how that scenario would have been when some one gave it back to The Shivaay Singh Oberoi.

"Both of them took two months to talk to each other without arguing and that too just because Anika saved Shivaay from an accident. After my marriage with Mallika Anika and Shivaay used to meet often while visiting me and Mallika. You all wouldn't believe me, but shivaay used to be a completely different person when with Anika. Though they used to argue a lot but they had the power to bring out the best of each other." Sidharth paused for a moment as he felt a lump formed in his throat.

"Anika fell in love with Shivaay but never told him. Not that he didn't know but they never talked about it and remained in that friend zone until, Anika's colleague, Dr. Anand proposed her. I had never thought that I would ever see SSO jealous. He was looking at anand as if he would crush him with his looks only. Shivaay dragged anika oitside even before Anika could say something. That day he confessed his love in anger." Sidharth said as the family members laughed at it.

"Anika made this world heaven for him. She was his angel. Just one look of her and his anger, attitude and everything would be gone. I and mallika were put of town for a month and When we returned, we saw a different shivaay. He was not SSO, nor he was Anika's Shivaay. He was heart broken, he kept himself busy in work. I got to know that Anika left Mumbai. I didn't know the reason and I thought she left my friend and that's why he became like this. I never knew that it was Shivaay who..." Sidharth stopped speaking as he realised his mistake and that made him anger on Shivaay.

"But I also know that he's guilty now. So guilty that he doesn't want to live, and I know he won't be able to live without her." Sidharth said and stoop up to leave from there.

"Where are you going, bhai ?" Rudra asked and Sidharth smiled a little.

"To bring your brother's life back to him, to bring back his reason to live." Sidharth answered.

"What do you mean ?" Rudra asked as others looked at Sidharth for an explanation.

"I don't think after what Shivaay did Anika would forgive him so easily. I'll just request her to take Shivaay's case. Because I know Shivaay would never refuse what Anika says. Rest is upto your idiot brother how he wins back his love." Sidharth said and the family smiled. Finally they were going to get their Shivaay back and see his love story as well.

"Please Anika, only You can do this. He is guilty and that's why he doesn't even want to live. Please Anika, I'm not asking you to give him a chance, just take his case as a doctor. Please.." Sidharth said to Anika and he knew she would never refuse to do  something that is for Shivaay. She is heart broken but still love his idiot friend.

Sidharth was proved right and Anika said yes to take Shivaay's case as a doctor not knowing that this time HER bagadbilla won't leave her alone.

"I want to go home, Sid. Just prepare the discharge papers." Shivaay said with his head resting on the head rest and eyes closed. The whole family looked at him sadly but Sidharth smirked.

"I'm not handling your case now, Shivaay. And your new doctor hasn't given the permission to you to go home." Sidharth said and others looked at him confused.

"Who the hell is this new doctor who is stopping me, Shivaay Singh Oberoi ?" Shivaay shouted at top of his voice. Just then the door of the room opened and the doctor entered making his anger vanish in thin air.

His eyes twinkle with happiness and his lips curved up seeing his Anika infront of him. She came and checked his reports. Then she checked his heart beat and pulse rate whereas he kept staring her like a puppy.

"Were you so beautiful since birth or waqt ne kiya koi haseen sitam ?" Shivaay asked and she looked at him like she was planning to murder him.

"Mr. Oberoi, You are fine now. And we'll perform your surgery after a month or two anyway so, till then you can rest at home as well. I'll send your discharge papers." Anika said as she have him a medicine to eat and he gulped it without any fuss which shocked the Oberoi family.

"Ok, gorgeous. Well, you should also accompany me, I'll recover soon if I'll see your gorgeous face more often." Shivaay said and winked as Anika gave him a dearly glare making him chuckle.

Anika left from there and Shivaay's gaze followed her until she wasn't out of sight. Rudra was still not out of this shock and pinky, janvi, tej, shakti and Dadi were almost going to faint seeing Shivaay's flirty side.

"You want to die or something ? Don't flirt with her openly, your wounded lioness would eat you raw."  Sidharth said with a glint of mischief.

"Not going to happen, dude. I have long term plans with this lioness." Shivaay said and it was clear that Anika's SSO was back in action.

"Yes yes, I know your long term plans. But don't break her heart again. By the way she's here just as your doctor, nothing else. How you win her heart again is your look out." Sidharth was serious this time and it was a warning for Shivaay.

"Hmm.. I won't repeat the same mistake again." Shivaay said with a guilty expression.

"But bhaiya, how will you woo your lioness because you're going back to your den errr..to Oberoi mansion ?" Rudra asked and first time in his life, he asked something sensible, everybody thought.

"Just wait and watch Rudra." Shivaay smirked and picked up his phone to call khanna for an extremely important work.

"How can I, sir ? How can I go and live in their house ? And Mr. Oberoi doesn't need that much supervision of a doctor. One check up a week would be fine. Why should I go and live in their house ?" Anika tried to hide her frustration as much as she could but of no avail. She knew very well who was behind all this but there was nothing she could do and she had to finally agree to go to Oberoi mansion.

"Mr. Oberoi You should take complete rest. So I would suggest you to not go to out and no excess work." Anika said and gave him medicines once he was settled down on the bed in his own room.

"Who's going to office anyway.." He whispered to himself but Anika heard it and narrowed her eyes at him.

"By the way doctor, you look hot even in these Indian kurtis, what's the secret ? ahan..." Shivaay asked so as to continue talking to her but it made her irritated and others to laugh.

"Mr. Oberoi I think the medicines are affecting your brain. Should I go for an injection instead ?" Anika asked with a forced, creepy smile as she showed him a big injection, almost near his eyes and he shut his mouth immediately.

Anika left from there and pinky accompanied her to show her room. Pinky was on cloud nine listening to her son's love story. Though she was angry on him for behaving like a mad person but she knew Shivaay would win Anika's heart again. She just couldn't wait for this beautiful and intelligent girl to be her daughter in law. Now only, pinky, everybody was wishing for the same.

At night, Anika came to give Shivaay his medicines. She had expected him to flirt again but this time he was looking at her with longing, expecting her to talk to him. She gave him his medicines and turned to go but he stopped her.

She didn't turn towards him because her tears had already started flowing down her cheeks and she didn't want to show him that she was broken.

"Leave my hand, Mr. Oberoi ?" She said but he pulled her towards him, resulting in her sitting in his lap. She wiggled to come out of his hold but failed because her heart wished to be that way only.

"You knew me so well Anika, why didn't you slap me and made me realise my mistake ? Why did you let me hurt yourself ?" He asked with tears in his eyes and she looked at him with anger.

"I did love you, Mr. Oberoi. But I love my self respect more." She said with proud and tried to get up but he stopped her by caging her in his arms.

"Your self respect told you to let an arrogant jerk to play with your feelings ? You should have killed me with your bare hands and that would have been justice to your self respect. Why did you leave me and go ?" Shivaay asked and this time his eyes had anger for himself.

"I didn't want to suffer more." She said soft in a whisper but he heard that. She lost herself in eyes once again.

"You didn't want to suffer of you wanted to make me suffer ? Because you knew.. that nothing troubles me more than your absence. Even though I said I care about my ideologies but you knew that I love you more, the most. You knew that would be a punishment wirst than death for me, didn't you ?" He asked and she averted her gaze away from him knowing it was the truth.

"Please come back to me. I thought I have one month to win your trust back, but... I didn't know that I would become that impatient after seeing you so close to me." He said with so much love that her heart felt like coming out and jump in his arms.

He cupped he face as his thumb traced her lower lip and she lost herself in his touch, something thar always happens without her will.

Just before his lips could meet hers, her phone rang making her their position. She pushed him away from herself and got up. He saw the name flashing on the screen and his blood boiled seeing Om calling.

She came back to her room and cried for losing herself in him once again. She felt guilty when she saw Om calling her. He was the one with her when she was so broken. He stood beside her without any demands, without any expectations. She had said yes to his proposal even before he said it to her. She had heard him talking to his mother who wanted her son to get married. He didn't say anything to get but she saud yes.

And that day, seeing Shivaay in that condition, she left her engagement with him. Om still didn't say anything because he understood her inner turmoils. At this point she couldn't break a person's heart who stood by her in her tough times. She can never do what Shivaay wants even if she wants to do it.

Days passed and her feelings for Shivaay increased despite her denials. His family became her own and she wandered if she was ever loved by someone so much as his family does ? He did everything he could to win her heart and apologise and it melted her heart too. But it was too late for her to accept.

The day of the surgery arrived. He looked dejected, like he was going to lose. He prayed for some miracle to happen or else, for his last breath. But he was sure he won't be able to live without her.

Anika had performed so many surgeries in her practice but today she was nervous more than she had been in her first surgery. Today she was going to fight to save her love. At the same time, the fact that she won't meet him after the surgery was eating her heart. She stood infront of the mirror and she looked at herself dressed in a surgical gown as she her tears flow, thinking that she's alone.

"You can't live without him, right ?" A voice startled her and she realised Om's presence beside her. She averted her gaze from him and wiped her tears.

"It's.. no..nothing.. I'm just nervous." She tried to reason but he wasn't a fool but her best friend.

"You think I would blame you for breaking my teeny heart and choosing your happiness, don't you ? But have you thought when you'll marry me and won't be happy, how would I feel ? I would feel guilty of not being able to keep you happy. Do you want me to live with guilt for whole of my life ?" Om asked as gently as he could. How could she be a fool ? He wanted to make her understand what was right and to be done.

Anika looked at him and finally cried hugging him, getting support from her friend. She realised he was a gem and she was going to destroy his life.

"You stopped me from making a mistake. Thank you.." Anika said as she looked at him who smiled whole heartedly.

"Now go. You have to bring him back. Only you can do it because his hear beats only for you." Om said and she nodded.

Shivaay opened his eyes but he had no interest to see who was there with him and who is not. He closed his eyes and tears flow down his cheeks. But he opened his eyes when he felt someone's soft lips sucking his tears away and at once he knew who she was.

"Y..ou are for real ?" He asked  and fumbled for words because of the sudden pleasant shock. She frowned when he behaved like a 'who-I-am where-I-am' kinda person.

"No. I'm not here. The surgery affected your tiny brain and you're hallucinating." She said as she narrowed her eyes at him, giving him angry glares.

"Oh My god ! You're for real." He exclaimed and smiled widely and she hit him in his stomach and hugged him.

"You forgave me ?" He asked, dreading the answer to be no.

"I'm here, hugging you like a teddy bear. What do you think ? Who gave you the best businessman of the year award when you don't have a thing called common sense ?" She said while still hugging him and he was sure she made a thousand faces in a minute.

"I got it. Thank you Anika, i promise I won't repeat my mistake. I won't hurt you ever again." He said and tightened his hold around her waist.

"I know." She whispered and rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeats as his heart was beating for her only.

"May we come in ?" Rudra, Sidharth and Om asked with teasing looks. But it was just a formality to ask, they were already in and the elders also entered after that. Everyone met him and congratulated for finally winning his love back.

"Take care of her, although she's irritating but I know you'll handle." Om said to Shivaay and Anika frowned.

"Those heavy talks were nothing as you were just trying to get rid of me, right ?" Anika asked as she was offended and Shivik smiled.

"No My dear friend. I just thought I would fund someone more beautiful and.." Om started to tease her more but stopped seeing Anika's face getting red with anger.

"Ok I have to go and check my patients. See you later." Om said turned towards the door to leave, only to dash into someone.

He lost himself in the sweet, innocent face of this girl who dashed into him and was about to fall. But he didn't let her fall. Om and Gauri were lost in each other's eyes, unaware about others' presence.

Shivika looked at each other and shared knowing smiles as Shivaay side hugged Anika and she wrapped her hands around his torso.
