{Prologue - RED}
"Getting what you want can be very dangerous. Especially when you are messing with time."
The opening celebration for the new school year of Auradon Prep raged on. Meanwhile, a portal opens up in the school front. Out this portal goes a woman clad in gold and dark blues. Beside her is a large greyhound with two sentient heads.
The music was loud and exciting. Laughter and glee circulates around the courtyard as the Queen of Hearts' bubbles continue to happily float down on them. Red danced with her mother, Chloe and her mother watch on with smiles on their face. Meanwhile, Headmistress Uma started to feel unsettled.
She stopped and turned to the entrance of the courtyard. By the next wall will be her office and she felt like something or someone is just up there. Not that she was expecting anyone else beside someone very particular and important. She knows that person will be here and why she's here, she very much knows why. In fact, she invited her back. She could use another person by her side for the new management she has been planning and there is only one person perfect for the job.
No. What unsettled Uma was the strange feeling that the person brought back with her. Sure, being the daughter of the literal King of the Dead would make anyone feel unsettled, but this feeling, this touch of dread and anger and grief, is something that layers on top of the princess of the undead thing.
Something is terribly wrong.
So she excused herself to look for Hedith.
However, it seems she didn't need to. Hedith entered the courtyard amidst the celebration. Her giant hellhound, Mavros, tailing behind her. Her dark scowl and piercing eyes scanned through the dancing parents and students before landing on two particular pair that stand out among the rest.
"Hedith," Uma greeted, walking over to her friend. "Glad you can make it in time for the ceremony."
"Uma," she greeted back with a diplomatic smile. Uma learned to not take offense of this as the woman had formally learned states of affair and diplomacy the moment she left Auradon Prep to do her duties as the heir of the Underworld. And now that she's now a goddess with a domain, she upholds that façade closer in public.
"I would have arrived tomorrow in time for my first course, but I suddenly had the urgent feeling to come," she said and turned back to the two pairs. "And I happen to be right about it. Dreadfully right."
Uma held her breath. She knows this tone. And she has once again been slapped by the realization that Hedith had not been the same since...well, three years ago.
"Let's talk in my office later. Let us wrap things up here to not cause any panic among the parents and students," Uma said. And she had a feeling that it probably had happened already. She just doesn't know it yet.
Uma once again thanked the parents and students before sending them off to drop them off in their dorms and make themselves familiar with the campus. Once that was done, she headed back to Hedith who was talking with Fairy Godmother about her plans in the University and Hedith seems genuinely curious. Which is a rather rare things as this person had seen enough things to be curious about.
"Let's go."
"Wait," Hedith said as her eyes went back to the two new princesses, "Those two. Daughter of the Queen of Hearts. And Chad's sister. Call them up in the office. I need to talk to just them too."
Uma didn't question her and immediately called for the two once the tour ended.
While in the office, Hedith sat back on the couch as she and Uma catch up and inevitably talk about school arrangement. Which classes to teach and what system will they uphold. An hour later, the two girls knocked on their doors and the atmosphere dropped again with the clank of Hedith's teacup on the saucer.
"Come in."
The girls awkwardly entered, closing the door. With a flick of a hand, all the walls and ceiling, and even floor, was coated with a dark, reflective field of magic. The two princesses flinched and Uma glared at Hedith, reprimanding her.
"I'm sorry for the cold welcome, my darlings," Hedith said and stood up, slowly before turning and sending them a harsh glower. "But you have messed with my domain and I cannot overlook it."
The two visibly shrunk upon themselves.
"Hedith, what do you mean?" Uma stood up before turning an inquisitive glare at the girls. "What did you to time?"
Chloe Charming took a deep inhale and stopped breathing while Red looked at Uma and gulped, nervously. The room shook. Uma held unto her desk and the girl dropped to the floor. Hedith held out her hand a soon enough, a pocket watch was retrieved from Red's jacket and into Hedith's hand. The item seems to be the most offensive thing Hedith has ever seen. And given that she is the goddess of time, a domain she had inherited from her grandfather, a machine that disrupts her domain would be the bane of existence for her.
"They created a new timeline."

Hey, I am back. I was so sure I won't be writing fanfics anymore. But the Descendants: The Rise of Red movie really dissatisfies me. It was going so well, then the abrupt ending just pissed me off.
But I am not rewriting the movie. I am quite sure there will be another movie after this and it will probably answer the questions we have about the ending. With that being said, I do have some idea for how Hedith will come into play in the new generation and how I can write around what I have already established on this fanfic and what I can do with the...well, new movies and some stuff with canon Descendants.
This is just a sneak peek of what I have in store but hopefully I get some of you back to reading this and I also hope that I actually finish this fic.
P.S Imma draw Hedith's new look soon and show you, guys.
