"Oh my gosh! I can't believe you're back!" Dizzy squealed, hugging her friend with all tightness that she can muster. Hedith's eyes almost popped out. Almost.
"And look at you. Miss Dizzy 'Senior Designer' Tremaine. You're basically a big shot now," Hedith said as she pulls away, "What do you think about my outfit? Your call."
"I say, you'll sell a couple dozen of your own designs if you come and work with us again. I mean, you'll get your cut, honey," Celia said, approaching her two friends. Hedith raised an eyebrow and chuckled at her, "Hi, I may have not introduced myself. My name's Celia Faciler, Evie's 4 Hearts' Marketing Director. Here's my card."
Hedith chuckled as she hands her a business card. Even the card screams Celia. Magenta and voodoo characters at the corner. She really loves to stay true to her roots, huh?
"I don't have a card but I'm Princess Hedith of the Underworld," Hedith played along and the three girls laughed together, "You sure Evie's not here?"
"Nah," Celia said, shrugging, "She's off with Mal. Probably looking for the royal baby's clothes. She's six months in."
"And in a couple of months, we'll be having a naughty little prince or princess running around Auradon, spouting spells they didn't even know," Hedith said, "You're out for lunch? Cause I'm starving. I just arrived an hour ago so Mavros and I are dying for something to fill our belly."
"Sure!"
"Why not? But you're paying," Celia said, going ahead the group, "We left our client waiting for you."
"Aww, not I'm feeling bad," All three of them laughed. It was nice to have their friend back.
They spent the next few hours, eating in a cafe near the company's building and in the park next to it while catching up to each other. Dizzy went to play wirh Mavros for a while as Celia and Hedirh sat down on a nearby bench.
"So I can't really eat those snacks you kept talking about?" Celia asked, opening a soda can.
"Nope, unless you want to always return to the Underworld," Hedith said with a smirk. Celia rolled her eyes, letting out a deep sigh.
"No way. That's sick."
"So I see that Evie's business is literally doing big. How much do you guys earn?" Hedith asked, staring at Celia's watch which looks expensive.
"A couple more than most."
"Hedith? Mavros seems to be having an itch reaction or something," Dizzy called from where she is standing. Hedith quickly stood up and went to her pet. Mavros are whining and scratching his left neck while the other head scratch the other part of his body.
"Oh no. He's not used to sunlight. He's usually just out during the dark," Hedith realized.
"We could take him to a vet. Have his wear that cone thing so he won't keep on scratching his itch," Celia suggested and Dizzy grinned. Right, they haven't told her yet.
"That's great! You know anyone?"
"We have an idea."
Meanwhile, in de Vil's Veterinary clinic, Carlos is on his desk, waiting for his next patient. He had grown quite a bit after seven years. He grew taller and his hair is shorter and more tamed. The boyish charm is still there. With his lab coat and red and black uniform under, he looks so professional in his field.
"Welcome to—oh hey, guys!" Carlos greeted once he heard the bell to his clinic rings. Celia and Dizzy went in first and said hi to the resident vet of Auradon, "What can I do for you?"
"Actually, you have those cone things that you put on a dog so they won't go scratching and scratching?" Celia asked. Carlos' eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.
"You mean Buster collar? Yeah, I have some. But you guys don't have pets," Carlos said and Dizzy shook her head.
"No, it's not for us. Come on out. The dog is being a big whiny outside," she said. All three of them exit the clinic and Carlos is bewildered with the scene outside.
A huge black dog, probably bigger than a full grown human, is prancing outside, barking at a tree where a ginger cat is trapped at. The cat hissed back and tried to scratch the mutt's snout. Everyone is watching the scene unfold before their eyes, taking in the absurdity of the size of the dog. On the other hand, the owner of the dog, which most of the people recognized as the Queen's sister, is trying to get her dog underleash.
"Mavros! Sit down! Don't make me angry, you little mutt!"
"Hedith? You're back?" Carlos exclaimed.
"Yeah yeah, I'm back. Mind helping me, dog boy?" Hedith snarks. Celia, Dizzy and Carlos made eye contact and decided to helped before the hot headed princess bursts out. And she's not someone easy to subdue.
"Easy now, boy," Carlos said, approaching Mavros. The dog stopped barking at the cat. Both animals looked down at him and Carlos saw the impossibility of his task, "Oh boy. You really have gotten big."
"How about we get the cat down, too so that Mavros could, you know...stay down? That'd be easier," Celia suggested with sarcasm in her voice too.
"I'll try climbing--"
"No, Dizzy. I'll go," Carlos volunteered and started climbing up the tree. He is a good climber after all. And he can't let Dizzy climb the tree in heels. Overall, he should let a girl do a man's dirty work.
A few moment later, the cat was safely on the ground and ran away, not before hissing one last time at Mavros. The dog barked back. Hedith caught up and grabbed him by his right head.
"Oh no. Mavros, shrink," with that command, the dog shrinks down to a normal dog size. Hedith sighed and smiled at her friends, "Thanks with the help."
"No prob. He really had grown since the last time I saw him. He should meet Dude. Come on inside," Carlos offered. All four of them, together with Mavros, went inside Carlos' clinic. He offered them coffee to drink and sat down with them in the lobby, "Do Mal know you're back?"
"Yes, but I didn't give her the details," Hedith said, sipping on her coffee, "Anyway, Mavros isn't used to sunlight and keeps on scratching himself. You think you can help, Dr Dog boy?"
"Can you stop calling me that?"
"He's just saying that. He misses that nickname," Dude interjected, coming into the room. He doesn't change much over the years. Mavros' left head barked at him in greeting.
"No, I don't," Carlos pointedly said and stood up, "I have some Buster cones here and I don't know how dogs are supposed to be irritated in sunlight but try buying a shampoo in the pet shop nearby."
"I'll take two cones," Hedith said, patting Mavros' heads.
"Alright. Consultation fee will be fifty."
"Fifty? Carlos, I'm your friend! Friendly price, please. If not. Just make it on the house," Hedith smirked but he shook his head with a click of his tongue.
"Take it as the payback for all those pranks you pulled on me," he slyly said, bringing out the dog cones.
"Come on. Those are just for fun."
"And so as this," Carlos shots back. Hedith frowned and it got deeper when Celia nudged her in the side.
"Karma's a big She-dog," she said.
"Boohoo."
"Ahh, don't be down, Hedith," Dude said and climbed up to her lap, curling down to a ball, "At least, you're special."
"I hate your customer service. I'm suing you," she declared making all of them laugh.

"This day's packed, isn't it?" Hedith sighed as she lay down on her bed. Mavros barked and joined in with her in his full sized form, "Tomorrow we'll be meeting with Mal and Ben. I already got the presents ready. They'll be so surprised."
Hedith looked at her phone. She doesn't usually use it in the Underworld since there's no signal all the way down there so she has no use for it except for games. All the messaged had to be delivered by Hermes. This will be the first time she'll be using her phone again fro interactions. The last time she opened her accounts was just after the Ball and that's to post the photos she took with Mal and the gang.
"Let's try visiting Crownstagram."
She opened her account and stalked Mal, Evie and Uma's account to see what they're up to. Uma's off traveling with her new crew, Harry still her first mate. She went to an island that is infamous because of many creatures paired together with their residents. She took a selfie with a little blue creature with wide mouth and big ears. He looks like a weird blue dog, but cute.
Evie's account is all about advertising her company and her new collection. But also the development between her and Doug. Turns out, they're engaged! The picture of the ring is a beautiful blue diamond. That would cost a fortune. But worth the eight years of wait. And also Doug have his own IT Company now.
Mal wasn't much. The only updates on her account is the places she went to as a queen and some of her doodles. Hedith can't even call those doodles. They're just too good. The latest pic is a silhouette of her and Ben, showing Mal's baby bump. That made her smile. Mal really have a happy life.
The next people she search for was Celia and Dizzy but most of the updates she already know. They couldn't stop talking about it earlier.
Then she decided to stalk Carlos.
His account is as nerdy as he is. Pics of him and Dude. Pics of the outside of his clinic and some videos of him singing and sometimes playing games in his free time. There are moments that Hedith even laugh at some of his dorky selfies.
But something did caught her attention.
He stopped posting pics with him and Jane together about two years ago so she was curious of why though.

Let me just tell you that it's so heartbreaking writing this chapter. This is probably the chapter that Carlos is most mentioned and you know what's up. Cameron Boyce, you are missed.
