"I think...you deserved this," Hedith told Mal as she hand over the ember to her. Nothing is holding her back anymore. No more strong feeling in her gut that tells her otherwise and no more doubt towards her sister's intention. She freely gave it to Mal without having second thoughts.
Mal smiled and took the ember, pulling Hedith into a big hug.
"Thank you," she whispered. Hedith can sense Evie smiling behind her back and heat started creeping up her face.
"Yeah well...shut up."
Mal chuckled and pulled away. Now, it was Uma's turn to hug Hedith and ruffled her hair, making it messier than it already is.
"Well done, Hedith! How's the feeling of using your magic?" Uma asked and Hedith gave her a wide toothy smile.
"It feels great!" And partly nerve-wrecking although she won't say that out loud. She has a reputation to uphold.
"Hey!" Celia called with a teasing smile, "It's 'yo bae."
Mal gasped and quickly made her way towards the door. Hedith looks confused for a while before realizing that the boys might've finally found Ben. She quickly followed suit to see what this guy really looks like and maybe even give her thoughts about him in a subtle way of criticizing her sister's lover. Hedith cringed. Thinking about the word lover is just spine-chilling. She can't determine if it's good or bad. Maybe somewhere between the lines.
Hedith saw Mal hug a rugged looking guy with messy brown hair and beard. She stopped on her tracks, flabbergasted and stiff. Her eyes widened in shock. That's Ben? What force on earth made him think that torn off clothes would make him attractive?
"Hey, Hedith!" Harry called and as Hedith turn around, she got the familiar greetings of the two pirate boys. The Sackbag Carry.
"Put me down, you idiots!" She yelled but the two only laughed.
"We miss you, too," Gil said, earning a glare from the daughter of Hades.
"Guys, put her down," Uma commanded but not without an amused look on her face. Gil obeyed and Hedith fixed herself up, straightening the wrinkles in her clothes. After than, she kicked both boys on the shins, with both of them yelping in pain.
"Yeah, miss you, too, dumbasses."
"Who's that?" She heard someone said and Hedith, having the feeling that she is the that in question, turned to Ben who is looking at her with a confused look. She have to admit, he looks good with a beard on. But what made him look better are the fangs. She just love fangs. Fangs are cool and attractive and sexy.
"Hedith, Your Highness," she said in a flamboyant way, bowing with a smirk on her face, "Daughter of Hades."
Then there was that shock look that Hedith expected of him. He looks cute but she thought that he surely won't let the daughter of the guy who almost drained his fiance's powers off the hook. Even if that said guy is her fiance's father and the daughter is her fiance's sister. What a small, bemusing, playful world.
"Oh," that's all he said before turning back to Mal. Hedith stood up straight and made her way to him and Mal.
"She's here to help, Ben. And so are they," Mal said, gesturing towards Uma and her crew.
"Well, Ben. I love the fangs. How much for dental?" She started criticizing and Ben let out a nervous laughter. He doesn't even know why, "Also, the beard? You should at least clean it if you want to keep it. Can you dress up a little—"
"Okay, Hedith," Mal interrupted with a sheepish laugh, "He will and will do."
Mal gave her sister a look as Hedith laughed in pure amusement.
"Being the King of Auradon must be so stressing, huh?" Hedith says betweens laughs and walked away with arms in the air. Sheesh, she just wanted to have a little fun by making fun of Ben. It's actually cool to see a King become nervous because someone is criticizing his looks. And to say that he is not in his best appearance at the moment only makes him more of a conscious wreck. Well, next time they meet, he better be in his best appearance because even their dad will be criticizing him.
As Mal fill in Ben with the details that he has been asking for a while now, Hedith approached Dude. She lifts him up and sat on the chair he was sitting on, putting Dude on her lap.
"So where can I get a dog?" Hedith asked and Dude wags his tail as she scratch him behind the ears.
"Try the pound. They have a lot to offer."
"I want a three-headed dog," she told him, earning laughter from the dog. The girl, who Hedith doesn't know and doesn't care to ask smiled at her.
Hedith could say that she's cute. But just cute. But she would love to have those eyes.
"So you're from the Isle?" Jane asked, sparring a conversation. Hedith didn't look at her direction and just continued to play with Dude, "So you like dogs?"
Hedith continues to give Jane a cold shoulder. The awkwardness that envelopes them doesn't even seem to bother Hedith. Jane thinks she's the only one feeling it.
"Want a treat?" Hedith smiled at Dude and the dog turned to her with twinkles in his eyes. She smiled seeing the positive feedback from the mutt and toss a berry in the air. Dude jumped from her lap and caught the berry in his mouth, "So cool."
After her little amusement, Hedith decided yo drop the act and turn to an awkward looking Jane who gave her a sheepish smile. Okay, she's cute. And she'll take Evie's advice. Time to make friends.
"Sorry, messin' with ya," Hedith said, smiling broadly and leaned forward, her hand extended for Jane to take, "You probably heard my introduction?"
Jane laughed lightly and shook the younger girl's gloved hand, "Yeah. Who could miss that? I'm Jane by the way."
"And whose kid are you?" Hedith leaned away as Dude return to her and sat on her lap.
"Oh, Fairy Godmother."
"As in, the Fairy Godmother? Magic wand and all?" Hedith asked, waving her hand in a way that a wand should be waved.
"Yes."
"Bibbity-bobbati?"
"Boo! Yes," Jane answered just before Carlos approach the two of them. He stopped and looked at Hedith who seems to be friendly with Jane. He's not comfortable with Hedith because even at a young age, she can be quite scheming so he shot her a suspicious look.
"Relax, Dog boy. I'm not biting anyone," Dude laughed at Hedith's comment, earning a glare from Carlos.
"What? It was funny," the dog reasoned. Carlos shook his head and turned to Hedith.
"Umm...can you leave us for a moment?" He asked, curtly as he gestures towards Jane. Hedith's eyebrows furrowed and realization washed over her.
"Oh...?" Hedith turned to Jane and then to Carlos, noticing the little box that he is holding, "Oooh! Yeah. Sure. Okay."
She quickly left the scene and went to join Evie. She was having a conversation with Doug but stopped when she realized Hedith was beside her. She excused herself from her boyfriend with a smile and despite being confused, he reciprocated the gesture and nodded before parting ways with Evie for a bit.
"So, what's wrong this time? You're a little bipolar, aren't you?" Hedith grunted and slouched her back.
"Who don't Jay and Carlos like me?"
"You're a mischief maker. They were one of your victims. They hold...those encounters very hardly," Evie told her as Hedith crosses her arms over her chest.
"A bunch of rotten tomatoes on their heads never hurt anyone."
"They'll get over it sooner or later."
"Do you think they'll change their view of me when they know who I really am?" That question made Evie smile and pushed Hedith's back to make her posture right.
"They'll warm up soon enough. Not because of your relationship with Mal, but because you're a pretty great kid, yourself," a slight smile was brought into the younger blue haired girl and turned to Jane and Carlos who are happy together by the end of the garden.
"Since when did Carlos had the gut to ask a girl out?"
"I realized something just now," Evie smirked and looked into Hedith's eyes as if searching something in it, "Do you have a crush on Carlos?"
It's either the question doesn't affect the daughter of Hades or Hedith is just good in hiding her emotions and control her blush because not a single red can be seen on her pale face. Okay, that's a lie. There's a small tint right there.
"You'll never know. Boys are not really my cup of tea," she said, waving Evie off. Mal and Ben came up with the next step of the operation. To find Audrey in the three fairy's cabin.
That's most likely will be the place she'll be staying right now.
