"Yo, Evie?"

Hedith entered the workshop, hiding the ragdoll in her bag. When she arrived, there was Evie and another person with them. A guy, one from Auradon judging from his plain looking good boy looks.

Blond hair tied back into a ponytail and glasses. Hedith wouldn't consider him as the princely type since he'd more in the cute department rather than the handsome department.

Hedith shrugged it off and turned to Evie with a blank expression. Evie, in all honesty, looks surprised and at the same time, pleased to see her in her workshop. She sent away the guy for a while but not without a little peck on the lips. Hedith openly gagged at the public display of affection between the two and she can feel the shiver run down her spine.

Once he was away, Evie smiled and poured her full attention to the younger blue haired girl.

"Yes, Hedith? What's the matter?" Evie's voice is always so gentle and calm. Sometimes, it's almost motherly. The only thing that made her part of the kids in the Isle back there was her obsession on finding her handsome prince and her narcissistic personality. From the situation earlier, the former seems to have been over now for her.

"Do you have buttons?"

"I have loads of stash. Different kinds, even. Wanna see?" Hedith nodded and Evie leads her to a drawer that solely contains buttons. And she was telling the truth. She have all kinds of variation. From simple, plain, round buttons to buttons of different shapes.

"I'm taking two."

"Oh, you can take some if you want," Evie offered, grabbing a few for her to take.

"No, I'll only be needing two," Hedith said in a calmer voice that both of them expected. Evie smiled and watches her pick. While she does, she kept muttering something under her breath to where Evie hear are a couple of 'not this one' or 'nope'.

"For what do you be needing these buttons for?" Evie asked as Hedith comes to the buttons with little stars in the middle.

"It's none of your business, is it?"

"Well, since it's my buttons you're using, I think I have the rights to know," Evie said, with a matter-of-fact tone. Hedith growled and rolled her eyes, "Oh, and I love that little ragdoll on your bag. Need help on finding the right eyes?"

"Wait, what?" Hedith looked down to see her bag open and the ragdoll's head sticking out as if it wanted fresh air. She felt heat rushing up her face and quickly closed the bag.

"Did you make that?"

"What do you think?" Hedith chose to ignore it and continue on her task, "Don't tell Uma."

"I won't," Evie said and helped her look, despite her initial hostility, "But I want a pair for me and Mal. Can you do that?"

"I don't want to."

"Why not?"

"I don't have my materials."

"Where is it?"

"Back in the Isle."

"I have some materials here, you can have some."

"It's a lot of work."

"I can help you."

"You don't know when to stop, do you?" Hedith snapped, turning her head to glare at Evie. In return, Evie just smiled at her.

"Hedith, Auradon has a lot of opportunities to offer. It's your chance to grab them," she told her and took Hedith's hands. She placed the ragdoll in between her hands as Hedith stares at the gentle VK, "And maybe you can make a profit out of that talent of yours. Look at that ragdoll. I never knew Uma can be this cute."

Evie giggled. Hedith knows that this is not about her ragdoll. It's about her relationships with other people. Evie knows how to keep it subtle but still hit her in the right spots.

"I want to," Hedith muttered, quietly but Evie heard her, "But I don't want to get hurt again. You saw how Mal treated me back at the Isle. Even after that talk in the garden, I don't want to."

Evie smiled and pulled Hedith to her worktable and took out a sketchbook.

"Relationships are like dresses, Hedith," she started as she flips to the first pages of the sketchbook, showing beautiful drawings of dresses, "There are a lot of stitches that holds them together. But when one stitch breaks, it will just keep on going until the fabrics totally rips apart from each other."

"Looks like the stitch between two fabrics has gone a long way between us," Hedith said, staring at the sketches. She never knew Evie has a talent for dresses and designing. Well, she never bothered knowing anyone who was affiliated with Mal back in the Isle anyway so there was no way Hedith would know.

But seeing the sketches, she knew that Evie is driven with passion and determination. She's seriously not the same girl as she knew when she was in the Isle.

"Yes, but it is not torn yet. You see, when there is a rip, you only have to grab a new thread and connect it to the old one and just—"

"—sew it back together again," Hedith finished as they come to the end of the sketchbook where a fiery blue dress is drawn. It has white top but as it goes to the bottom of the skirt which touches the ground, it turns into a magnificent umbrae of blue.

Evie noticed her shocked expression as Hedith traces the hair on the sketch.

"Is that..."

"Yours? Yep. This sketchbook contains the sketches I've did for every maiden in Auradon that will attend Mal and Ben's royal wedding. And Mal, specially drew this gown for you," Evie said and Hedith realized how differently it was drawn compared to the other dresses. It's like a different artist drew it.

"Mal wants me at her wedding?"

"Yeah. You are family, after all," Evie said and closed the book and set it back to the shelves. Evie sure knows how to knock sense into people's mind. Just in a more gentle and sisterly/motherly way. Evie surely is not the same stupid girl in the Isle. If ever, she is the smartest girl she had ever known.

"So stitch it up?"

"It's up to you. But I hope you will," Evie smiled and turned to her button drawers, "Now, let's get that doll done so you can do me and Mal's."

"I thought I told you, I won't do it!" Hedith said, but this time, she can't help but smile.

"And I thought you realized I won't stop prying?"

And that's all thanks to Evie.

After a couple more of search, they've found the perfect button for the Uma ragdoll and Hedith sew it perfectly in place. Evie was impressed of her sewing skills and joke that she should work under her to make dresses. Of course, Hedith obviously declined claiming that if she is ever to work, she wants to be the boss.

Hedith reconsidered Evie's suggestion to make more ragdolls, but her thought was cut off when a commotion outside the castle started. Windows and doors are getting blocked off by ply. Alarmed and worried, both girls went to check on the others and saw Mal and Uma side by side.

"What was that?"

"Audrey." Hedith didn't need any more explanation to get to work. She stood beside Mal and took the ember from her bag. But she doesn't know what to do with it. All that talk about being a god and she can't figure out what to do.

"You've caused our friend pain and fear! We had enough! Now disappear!" Mal screamed, hoping for the plies to go away but nothing happened. Hedith turned to Evie who gave her an encouraging nod. She then glanced towards Uma's direction and saw that her necklace is also glowing. She gestured her head towards Mal and Hedith took a deep breath before stepping in front and grabbing Mal's hand.

It took her by surprise. Both Uma and Hedith grabbed her hand and have her a look of encouragement. Hedith's hair started flaming as the ember glows in her hand. Mal took a deep breath to calm her aching nerves. Shr looks nervous, Hedith noted but no one is more nervous than her. First time to use her unknown powers and she is somehow afraid. Mal noticed it and gave Hedith's hand a light squeeze.

"You can do this," she whispered as Hedith suck in her breath.

"A-Alright," she feels vulnerable, stuttering. But something tells her, a nagging voice in the back of her head tells her that it will be alright. There's Uma, Evie and Mal to support her. For some reason, it made her calm down a bit. And that was enough to cast the spell together with the two of them.

"You've caused our friend pain and fear! We've had enough! No disappear!"

It wasn't long until the plies go away and the spell that Audrey caused was finally broken.

The surge of magical energy within Hedith disappeared and her hair stopped flaming. Her hands were trembling so much that she almost let go of the ember.

"I did it..." She muttered, looking up to see Mal's smiling and proud face. She can't help but smile back.

That, up there, my friends, is the design that I come up with Hedith. I was too lazy to color it so I'll lend the color combinations to your imagination. Hope you like it!
