Hedith doesn't know what is more annoying. Having Mal in the Isle and only be here because she have something she needs that belongs to her dad or the fact that she can't have that song out of her mind. She involuntarily starts singing out of the blue once she left the lair, climbing up to the ply boards above the entrance of the lair.

She swung her legs as she fiddles with the hair of the doll she has been working on for days now. It's a ragdoll with pale brown skin and blue hair and a little pirate hat on top of its head. It's already looking good. All she needs is the right buttons for the eyes and a way to get out of the barrier to give it to the person she is doing it for.

Uma, the daughter of Ursula, had been a friend to Hedith a few years back. Their mutual hatred for Mal is what brought them together and she became the big sister that Hedith always wanted. At least, Uma cared enough to not include Hedith in their fight against Mal's hang a few months ago as for Mal to fully abandon her and fake her concern towards her own little sister. Yeah, take the frizzy haired voodoo girl and disregard her own flesh and blood. See if Hedith care?

Hedith puts the doll into her sling bag, careful not not ruing any of the details that she delicately put on and puts all her equipment back to her crate. She slip the crate under two inclined ply.

She walked along the platforms and off to a hole, a shortcut to another place in the Isle. She landed on her feet casually stroll towards the drop off of the discarded items from Auradon. She'll try scavenger hunting for the buttons. As she hums - which she decided would be fine as long as no one knew of its origins - she bend down to find any discarded clothes and if they have buttons.

But her gloved hand stopped abruptly when she was about to take another princissy clothes when she felt something odd approaching behind her. Her eyebrows furrowed and slowly turn around, only to squeal when someone grabbed her by her waist and hauled her over their shoulders.

"Put me down, you idiots!" She screamed as Gil and Harry laugh at her. She growled knowing why they are laughing at her. She hates it when she screams and shouts because her voice becomes too high pitched. They would tease her endlessly about it, "I hate you!"

"Good to see you, too," Harry said, smirking at her face as she dangles on Gil's shoulders with a pout and a glare.

"Hey, we should tell her!" Gil said, gesturing towards Hedith and she punched him in the gut, making him drop the girl. Hedith grunted when her body made contact with the ground. Good thing most of it are clothes or else, she I might've broken an arm.

"Tell me what?" She forced to say, standing up. Gil and Harry may not be the brightest anong the bunch but Hedith treats them as her own brothers since they are Uma's most trusted mates. Annoying, yes, but aren't brothers really annoying? Thing is, despite their annoying sense of humor and stupid antics, they show protective behavior towards Hedith.

"The VKs are in the Isle."

"I know," she grumbled and her eyes widened, frantically looking into her bag to see if the doll is fine. She sighed when she found it in one piece, "Mal went to my house to have a negotiation with dad."

But none of them, not even Uma, knows of her blood relationship with Mal and she decided that she'd like that to stay the way it is. She can't imagine losing Uma over her connection with Mal. Even these two dundleheads.

"What do they want?" Harry asked, crossing his arms.

"Auradon's in trouble and they need my dad's powers to save it," she informed them, then picked up a new set of dresses to find a button, "I'm sure dad won't give them the ember. It belongs to me and only dad and I can use it."

"Is it blue?"

"Yes."

"And like a glowy thingy?"

"Glows like a magnificent blue flame."

"A blue glowing rock?"

"Where's these questions coming from, Gil?" Hedith raised an eyebrow at turned to Gil and Harry who are looking over to the entrance to the Isle.

"Funny. Mal's holding a blue glowing rock," Gil laughed, stupidly and Hedith's eyes widened. Her eyes shot to the VKs and Mal is really holding a blue glowing rock in her hands.

"Oh shi---"

Without thinking, Hedith darted out into a run and the two boys followed after her. Mal and her gang now exits the barrier and Jay's about to close it until all three of them jumped into the closing hole and rolled in their backs.

She quickly stood up and gasped in disbelief that she just did that. For a second, she forgot for what she did that for. Her head whipped towards Mal who have a surprised look on her face, hands up in shock. Hedith's eyes landed on the ember and attempted to grab it but it bounced off her hands, dropping on the floor.

Mal and Hedith had an eye contact before jumping for the ember again, but it only slip further away falling towards the sea.

"No!"

"My ember!"

Before it could came in contact with the water, a large tentacle catches it, much to their surprise. And Uma appeared, taunting Mal as she holds the ember in her tentacles.

"Give it back before it goes out!"

"Uma!" Gil, Harry and Hedith smiled and Uma waved at them saying her famous line before going deep into the waters.

"Hi, boys!" Uma appeared behind them and there were mixed reactions.

Mal and Hedith turned around to see Uma holding the ember between her fingers. Mal looking like she's about yo panic and Hedith smiling widely.

"Uma!" The blue haired girl ran into Uma's arms that welcomed her and she tackled her into a hug.

"Hey, how are you doing?" Uma chuckled when Hedith refuse to pull away. And when she did, she smiled widely at the daughter Ursula.

"Fine but wow!" She turned to the barrier and a smirk appeared on her face, "I'm outside the barrier!"

"Feels good, isn't it?" Uma told her with a smile before turning to Mal, glaring. Mal glared back and they exchanged words with so much tension in between. Mal demanded Uma to give the ember.

"No!" Hedith exclaimed, walking to face Mal, "It's my father's ember. My father's powers!" She said, her words purposely aimed at Mal. She even noticed Evie and Celia exchanging glances towards Mal who masked her disappointment and sadness.

"So I get to have to choose what happened to it," Hedith added. Uma smiled and handed her the ember, "I get to keep the ember and I am not allowing you to get a hold of it."

"People's life are in danger!" Mal reasoned, "Auradon need Hades' ember!"

"Well good riddance!" Hedith said, tucking the ember in her bag, "What good have Auradon ever did for the Isle, huh? Give four kids into their princissy kingdom and leave the rest of us rot?"

"There is a programme, Hedith--"

"I'm not talking to you, Evie!" Hedith snapped and her hair bursted into fire, surprising everyone, even Hedith herself. She felt the burning sensation on her scalp but it didn't hurt her. Not one bit. And it feels so good. Like she could feel like she's stronger than she's ever been.

"Woah! That's so cool!" Carlos muttered, looking at Hedith's blue hair ignite in flames.

"Ironic since cool means cold," Gil corrected him, earning a slight glare from the son of Cruela.

"It feels good," Hedith said, touching the flames on her head, but feeling no pain, "Is this what you felt when you turn into a dragon, Mal?"

There was bitterness in her voice and Mal was hesitant to answer of retort. She knew what she meant. Was the feeling of using her mother - their mother's power feels this good? Mal even wonders how it felt to use their dad's powers?

"Okay, okay," Evie decided to break the tension, despite the glares she receive, "Let's put our differences aside. And Hedith? Maybe we could make arrangements for the ember so both parties can use it as we want to and you can keep it."

"And when you get what you want, you will lock us up again," Uma said, putting her hands on Hedith's shoulder. Hedith stared at Mal, waiting for her response.

"I want to be free," Hedith slowly said, her voice getting more bitter with every word which confuses everyone except Evie and Mal. They knew why she is like that. They knew why Hedith is so adamant in being freed. Because both of them know how bitter Hedith has been when Mal left the Isle. How broken hearted she has been when her big sister denied any relations to her. How Mal disregarded Hedith her entire life and never seem to look back.
