68. Happily Ever Supersonic
JILL POV
The last week of school was the worse. Though she was happy to finish another year, with good grades, and good vibes with her sorority, she knew everything had changed.
There would not be any fun next year without all her girls. And without Ivan.
It was hard facing him, he wouldn't even look her way. It brought tears to her eyes thinking about it. When would she ever get over these feelings for him? He was over her, why couldn't she move on?
Her last morning show was on the radio, and she was full of depression. What cheery topic could she talk about when her world was so fucked up.
The thing with the radio, she could put on a fake happy face and no one had to see it.
She rambled through last-day words of encouragement as she knew most students had already left if they had early finals and wanted to jet as soon as possible. She was allowed to stay in the house through the end of the next week, which she would use because she had a lot of stuff. Her mother was coming down and helping her fill up her car. She could leave some things since she would be back in a few months. Lark planned on staying in the house over the summer
That was going to be the best. She was glad the two of them got along, that would make living together easy.
"I know I spent most of the year, on-air, talking about finding someone, a guy to date...but, I think I have been going about it all wrong. Why do I need someone? Why can't I be happy all by myself? Listeners, those of you left here like me, what do you think? Call me up."
Might as well end her show how she began her show, putting her personal life out there.
"Supersonic, about damn time you came to your senses!" a caller voiced.
"Girl, your Prince Charming is out there, just be patient."
"Girl, I want you! Let me hit you up in the DM."
She rolled her eyes. If she would have taken up half the randoms in her DMs, she would not have had a problem dating. One time and she was over it. What was wrong with a guy approaching her the traditional way?
"What if you already met the guy, but you blew him off because he was not the type of guy you preferred."
It was Ivan! She recognized his sexy voice. What could she say back to him? She was on the air.
"Uh...maybe I was wrong about what I wanted...what I thought I wanted. I didn't see what was right in front of me. That's on me. I'm sorry."
"You're special, you know that."
"I know, and not in a good way, right," she said with a little chuckle. "I know what I want now, and I would do anything...anything for another chance to have this great guy back in my life. He's always been there for me, from day one, since I've been here at ISU. Through everything. My best friend."
The door of the studio opened and Ivan stood there, holding his phone.
"Anything?"
"Ivan!" She quickly put on a cued-up song to play instead of answering the blowing up phone lines. She stood up and looked at him.
"You're here, that means..."
"You know I can't stop thinking about you, kissing you...and being with you."
"I'm sorry, I-"
"I talked to Malinda. I felt bad breaking up with her, but I was lying to myself. I didn't really want her, I wanted you. It's always been, you Jilly."
She walked to him and kissed him and wanted to stay that close to him forever.
"Ivan, I love you!"
He smiled at her. "Well, that's interesting."
"I do! I was so stupid! I can't believe I said those stupid things to you about not liking you because you're white. I'm stupid, right? Like you said, special. But do you still want to be with me?"
"Yes, I do Jilly, flaws and all," he kissed her. "I love you, girl, always have, always will."
She smiled so hard and hugged him tightly. Next year was going to be awesome!
THE END
A/N: Cheesy ending everyone? Kind of cringe, but I like it. Jill and Ivan need to be together and that's that.
