49. Princess Pepper to the Rescue
Zavrina POV
Ever since it was out about Kenyon and her, the pressure she felt and the anxiety were gone. She could go back to being great.
Except her sorors still would not speak to her unless it was sorority business. Except for Lark who had her back.
"Girl, I already knew about you and Kenyon," Lark said to her while they were chilling out at her dorm room watching TV and eating their hometown snacks, their once-a-month ritual.
Zavrina was trying to understand all that was happening with her friend. She felt some kind of way that she didn't tell her what happened with her parents. Of course, she did not want to talk about it, but she wanted to be all up in her business.
"What? Did Kenyon say something to you?"
"No. I figured it out and I asked him. It's cool. I don't see what the big deal was."
"Kenyon's reputation. My reputation."
"Girl, it's whatever. You're Zavrina DeCosta, people know you're the real deal and if you're with Kenyon, you're not with him for just sex." Lark squinted her eyes at her. "I mean, are you?"
"Girllll, no! I mean, the sex is fiyah!" They both laughed. "But that's not all I care about. I really, really like him. I mean, I'm in love with him."
"Aaaw!"
"And you and Frankie?"
Lark groaned and rolled her eyes, stuffing that doughy bread stuff in her mouth. She could not believe her soror gave up her virginity to a guy she just started dating but did not with a guy she dated for years. Maybe she knew Ross was not right for her all along.
"I wish everyone could be happy for us. Kenyon texted me that he got into it with his frat brothers. Something about Cory turning the other guys on him."
"So boys are petty like girls."
"I guess." She checked her phone to see if Kenyon would text her. He said he was miserable at the house with the guys, they were always arguing now.
If she lived at the MAX house with Shery and Jill, she would probably be in the same boat. Good thing she had her own space. She texted him since there was nothing from him lately.
Babe, u ok
Z, sorry I been chill. Shit got real.
Sorry
U ain't do nothing. I moved out of the frat house
"What?" she said out loud.
"What's wrong?"
"Kenyon moved out of the Alpha house. It must be really bad." She called him instead of texting him back.
"Z, what's up?"
"What happened? Did it get that bad?"
"Yeah. We were literally throwing blows at each other. Fuck that shit. I grabbed my shit and left."
"Kenyon, you can't just move out like that. There are things you need to do, find a place to live, pay deposits and stuff..."
"I'm sitting in my new apartment right now."
"Huh? How did you..." She was going to stop being shocked by the things Kenyon Barnes could do. The boy was not normal.
"Babe, I'm tired, and I'm just chilling...all alone."
"Oh." She smiled. "You want company?"
"If it's you, hell yeah."
Even though she promised her Special little sister a girls' night, she could ditch her to be with her man. Lark understood that. She changed out of her lounge clothes into jeans and a nice blouse, wet her hair a bit to pull her curls into a puff, and added a bit of lip gloss and ta-da, she was ready for Kenyon, and he came to pick her up.
He looked worn down, she had never seen him look so unkempt. His curly hair was all over his head, dry and tousled. Dark circles under his eyes, a dirty black t-shirt, and sweatpants. Kenyon always looked like he walked down a runway, this wasn't him.
"You okay?"
"I'm good babe. Missed you." He pulled her to him for a kiss. "You staying the night with me?"
"If you want me to."
"I got you. At least there's no sneaking you in and out now, huh? Should have done this anyway."
When they made it to Kenyon's new apartment, it was quite a distance from campus, and she would not be able to walk to his place. Long as Kenyon did not mind always driving her. And the place was not a small, student, dump-looking place, it was nice. A tall building with a security guard sitting at the front desk area.
"Boy, how did you find a place like this so fast?"
"I know people," he simply said as they made it to the elevator and he pushed a button for up.
Again, nothing should shock her when it came to Kenyon. Especially not his place which was already fully furnished and nice. There were a lot of boxes around, but the place was still nice, and a step up from the frat house.
The living room had black furniture and white carpet. White carpet? That was too fancy for her. He had a full-sized kitchen with a dining table made up perfectly with dinnerware and a centerpiece of lemons. The kitchen appliances were new, black, and shiny. There was no way he could have furnished this himself.
"This is a display apartment, right? It's fully furnished."
"No, it comes fully furnished. You have to pay extra, but it's all good." He sat on the sofa. "I had to move all my things today. Half the frat wanted to kick my ass because Cory telling them bullshit, but that motherfucker did what he did to you and said what he said, I wasn't going to let that shit slide."
She sat next to him. "I'm sorry you guys were fighting over me."
"Naw wasn't about you. About respect. Come to find out, that motherfucker knew about us from the start. His ass must have been listening in hard on us...jealous ass wanted to be with you."
"I knew he liked me, he always flirted, but I never let that boy think it was anything more than friends."
"He ain't see it like that. I don't trust his ass. If you ever need a ride back home to St. Louis, I got you. Don't ask that dude for shit."
"I won't." She leaned over to kiss him. "Now that we have the whole place to ourselves, we can finish where we left off that last time."
He chuckled at her. "You do owe me, right."
"Whatever you want...however you want."
She climbed on his lap and kissed him all over his face. Her body was hot thinking of all the things they could do around his place.
Kenyon groaned and pulled her back. "Z, you know I want to be all up in you, but I'm tired as hell, and you don't want me less than best."
"I'm sure your less than best is still incredible." She kissed his neck, sucking on him and pulling off his shirt.
"Z, I'm serious, I don't even know if I can get it up."
This wasn't the Kenyon she was used to, who wanted it always, just as much as she did. Was their relationship changing now that they were out in the open? She stopped kissing him and moved off his lap.
"Come on Z, stop getting in your feelings. You're my girl, we're beyond just the sex, right?"
She nodded at him.
"We can chill, watch TV and relax. We never do that."
"Okay." She cuddled up against him as he grabbed the remote and turned it on. He was still shirtless, and laying on his muscled chest just made her horny. How was she supposed to not want to climb on the boy? "Can we do some things?"
He grinned at her, licking his lips. "What do you want me to do to you?'
"No, you're tired, let me do some things to you." She slid her hand into his sweatpants. "I mean, if you can't get it up, I'll stop."
But it did not take many touches from her, he was hard in her hands as she caressed him.
"That feels good." He moved her into him for some kissing as she continued to caress him with her hand. He grabbed her hand and helped her jerk him off. It was super hot.
After a few minutes, he erupted with a sigh.
"Mph, I needed that." He gave her another kiss before he stood, pulling his pants off because he made a mess all over them. "Let me clean up. You wanna take it to the bed or finish up here?"
"Boy you said not tonight, I'm good."
"I'll hook you up if you need me to."
"I said I'm good."
Kenyon came back with pajama bottoms on and a shirt for her.
"Change into this babe."
She stripped in front of him while he watched her with a grin. She pulled on his black t-shirt with the yellow-gold-colored ALPHA across the chest.
"You're letting me wear this? Am I breaking some kind of rule?"
"That ain't my letters, that's just one word. This just means you're marked as mine," he said, pulling her by the shirt close to him and down on his lap. "I couldn't let you wear this in the house with my frat, but now I don't give a damn. Looks good on you baby."
It smelled like him and it smelled good. She cuddled on his lap and they watched whatever was on TV but he was fast asleep in no time and she was right behind him.
As always, her alarm went off early in the morning, and she would need to race to get ready and head back to her dorm by six. Kenyon did not complain about waking up, but he did want to take a quick shower with her. She was not complaining. She pulled off his shirt and hopped in the hot shower with him. He already had a condom in hand, ready to put it on.
"Morning sex the best sex."
She giggled while he sucked on her neck, lifting her and pressing her against the way as he entered her. She groaned softly as he slowly thrust in and out of her. Even though the shower was steamy hot, she felt chills all over her body. She placed her hands on his shoulders to hold her balance, but he held her legs that were wrapped around his waist.
"I'm not going to keep you, I know you have to leave..." He kept kissing her in rhythm with his thrusts and it did not take much for her to have an orgasm. "But I left you hanging last night...after you hooked me up. Baby let me know when you get yours."
"I already did!"
He chuckled at her. "Well, you 'bout to get another one."
How did that boy know how to time it just right so they came together the next time? Legs weak, he helped her stand while he took off his condom and tossed it in the trash before getting back in with her.
"Okay, no messing around. We get clean, I drop you off. Then I'm taking my Black ass back to sleep. You know I don't do morning."
Good thing she knew she would stay the night and she packed a change of clothes. She dressed in jeans, a pullover jersey, and some boots. It was cold out so she put on her coat. Kenyon pulled his hair in a low ponytail, topped it with a hat, threw on a t-shirt and jeans, and a light jacket.
"You might as well just leave some clothes over here. And some womanly things, whatever you need."
"Womanly things? Like my tampons and pads?"
"Huh? I mean...if you gotta..."
She laughed at him. "I'm just playing boy, shut up."
"You know I got you." He pulled her to him and kissed her. "You know these girls still trying to get at me, and I don't need you feeling any type of way. I don't want them, that's just that, okay?"
"Okay."
"So if you see me talking to some chick, it ain't like that. You gotta trust me, Z."
"I know, I know, I'm trying." She hugged him. Easier said than done. The only way she could fully trust him was over time and him proving himself. He was off to a great start.
A/N: These two! They have come a long way, and if you could read their back story, there's so much more to them. Hopefully no more issues, no more secrets...then again, I am that author that flips things.
