Yoongi was just staring. Dumbfounded and frozen by the sight in front of him.

Hesitating for a couple of seconds, Jimin grabbed the towel he had brought with him and wrapped it around his torso, drying the cold water off his arms. He knew that it was a lot to comprehend so he waited patiently for Yoongi to finally speak again.

He smiled softly when Yoongi quickly glanced at his face before fixing his eyes on the dark, light absorbing scales of Jimin's tail. Yoongi felt like this couldn't be real. There was no way this was real, right?

Like, Jimin had seemed weird from time to time. Some things didn't seem to make a lot of sense. For example, that Yoongi never got to know anyone Jimin knew. He didn't have a phone. Never told Yoongi which school he visited or what he worked as.

Jimin had always been familiar but mysterious and Yoongi really liked that about him. He liked how interesting Jimin was. But now that he was confronted with an answer to all his questions, he couldn't help but feel like his brain was playing a prank on him.

Unsure of whether he should even do it he reached out his hand, letting it hover over Jimin's tail. A reassuring smile on his lips Jimin lead Yoongi's hand down. "Careful... the edges of the scales are really sharp." Jimin warned and Yoongi hesitantly ran his hand over the rough surface of Jimin's tail, being extra careful not to put too much pressure on it around the edges.

The touch made it feel more real and even more surreal at the same time.

"Is this actually happening?" he asked hesitantly, his voice a bit shaken.

"Yeah..." Jimin said, carefully running his own hand over Yoongi's arm before pushing his fingers between Yoongi's and cocking his head at Yoongi ever so slightly.

"Are you scared?"

Yoongi shook his head a lot quicker than Jimin had expected him to. "No... it's just. I don't know. This can't really be happening right now... I have to be dreaming."

"It's real." Jimin stated.

Yoongi bit his lip, glancing down at Jimin's tail again. "What are you? A mermaid? ...merman?"

"Yeah." Jimin lied through his teeth. It was the more beautiful answer. The one that wouldn't scare Yoongi away. Yoongi didn't have to know that mermaids did not exist.

It was his kind that was mistaken for something else. So, in a way, it was the truth... just not the whole truth.

Yoongi chuckled unbelieving. "That's so... weird."

Jimin chuckled warmly, pulling Yoongi's hand up to his mouth and placing a kiss on it. "Will you stay even now that you know?"

Yoongi's eyes went wide and he quickly wrapped his arms around Jimin. "Of course I will. It's just... I have so many questions... why? ...how? What?" Yoongi chuckled, placing a short peck on Jimin's lips, trying not to brush his legs against Jimin's tail.

Jimin sighed in relieve, leaning his head against Yoongi's chest.

"Should I change back? I think it's more convenient than sitting here like this." Jimin muttered and Yoongi nodded.

Jimin's tail slowly seemed to shrink until there were legs in its place. Yoongi quickly closed his eyes since once again Jimin was entirely naked. Quickly grabbing his boxers Jimin slipped them on before tapping Yoongi's shoulder to reassure him he could look again.

Yoongi looked at Jimin's legs for a couple of seconds before getting up and wrapping his arms around Jimin. "I swear to god. When I got into dating I was prepared for a lot of shit but that was not on the list."

Jimin chuckled light heartedly before burying his face in Yoongi's shoulder. "Thank you for just... I don't know. Taking it. And I'll answer all your questions... let's just go home first okay?" Jimin asked and Yoongi smiled.

"Let's do that."

Yoongi's heart was still thumping in his chest, but there was no way he would let Jimin go over such a thing. Even if there seemed to be a lot he hadn't known. The boy in front of him was still Jimin.
