Taehyung had given Jungkook a moment after he left like that. He looked really upset. But he was getting a bit worried now. He expected the siren to come back after like five minutes or something. But it's already way more than that. So the human got off the couch and started to look for him.

"Jungkook?" he called out.

"he went upstairs sir. One of the maids said that came down carrying dirty bed sheets and the dirty clothing bin.

"thanks" taehyung smiled and hurried upstairs. The raven must be in their bedroom then. Carefully he knocked a few times on the door before opening it. Inside he felt his heart break a little. Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed crying softly to himself. When he noticed taehyung he tried to stop his tears, which was almost impossible to do.

"Koo...." Taehyung closed the door and approached the siren. Kneeling in front of him and grabbing his hands into his own. "wha-"

"i don't want to talk about it, '' Jungkook said and sniffled, new tears replacing the old ones. Now taehyung was here he was only starting to cry more. He couldn't hold it anymore.

With a crying face he grabbed taehyung's shirt pulling at him to signal the human to get up and hold him.

That's all he needs right now.

To feel that comfort of arms around him. And that's exactly what Taehyung did. He got the hint and stood up wrapping his arms around Jungkook and placing his head against his chest. "I'm here my love, cry as much as you want. I won't ask you about it" The human wanted Jungkook to talk about it and open up, but he can't force it out of him, opening the blocked memories in taehyung's head was already too much to ask for. So he kept his mouth shut and let the siren cry in his arms, feeling his hands fist the back side of his shirt tightly. It hurt his heart to hear him cry like this, he didn't think jungkook would be someone emotional. But it seems that even monsters cry.

"I-i feel so alone...." Jungkook said softly when he had his breathing under control, but another sob slipped back his lips breaking off his sentence at the end. "Yes, I have made friends... a-and have you but... humans are not like me... I will never feel completely at home here..."

"I'm sorry.."

"dont be.. you have nothing to do with this... they are just the consequences of my own actions..." Jungkook said he had stopped crying but he wouldn't let go of the human just yet. Taehyung's arms around him were the only thing that made him feel 'at home'. he would feel loved. "i never thought it would turn... that.. bad. i wish there was just one like me..."

"and.... what if you go find a new group of sirens in the ocean?"

"... they won't be home... but... I doubt they will accept me... Sirens are very competitive"

they stayed just like that for such a long time that even taehyung's legs started to feel numb from kneeling the whole time, but what was he supposed to do? stand up? no way, Jungkook was holding him so tightly, he was not going to stand up and disturb him, ruining the moment most likely as well.

But right now they had to, Mr.Kim seemed to be back in the house and was calling for them.

"Taehyung? Jungkook?" He called out once, and almost ten seconds after the butler knocked on their door telling them that mr. Kim was looking for them.

"We will be down in a minute" taehyung said and let go of Jungkook. he could still see a lost tear on the siren's cheek and smiled, cupping Jungkook's face to wipe away the tear. "I love you Jungkook, no matter what you decide."

"thank you" jungkook smiled a little and looked at taehyung that headed for the door, before the human could open the door he spoke up again. "i don't regret falling for you, even after the consequences''

to that taehyung's heart melted and he looked back with the softest expression Jungkook had ever seen on him.

After a few kisses the two had gone down stairs where mr. Kim was waiting for them in the living room, standing in front of the window looking over his garden which held a big grass field.

"I have good news for you two" he said and turned around to his guest who stood behind him. "I have been working on getting rid of all the evidence of you ever being involved, witnesses won't be a bother anymore. You two are almost free to go home, i only have to do a few more things, i think by this weekend you will be safe to go back to your normal lives''

"That's... good" Taehyung said, he was conflicted, one side of him was happy that they could go home and he could be with Jungkook. the other half was sad that he will probably not see his father again after he leaves the front door. "what about us?" he asked. His father went silent and seemed to think of words.

"I... I won't push you away anymore. I want to be there for you like i should have been. I will never be able to fully go back to being a father, I will always have to keep a safe distance from you, I can't let you get hurt because of my work." mr. Kim said and smiled. "but you are welcome to visit me, and i will find time to take you out on lunch or anything time to time..... if you are.. okay with that"

"that's okay" taehyung smiled and then he unexpectedly hugged his father. the man was surprised and it took him a few seconds before he wrapped his arms back around Taehyung and smiled closing his eyes. For a moment, just a short moment, he felt complete. He could feel ms. Kim in his heart. for a moment the family was back together.

"thank you for giving me a second chance Tae"

"Of course '' Taehyung stepped back, still smiling. "I can't wait to go home, speaking of home" Taehyung tok Jungkook's hand and they walked to the couch. "how are you? being out of the water for a few days already."

"I'm doing well, the practicing improved my ability to keep more water inside of me and stay out longer. But i do feel like my body is starting to dry out, i'm glad it won't be much longer now"

"If it gets too much let me know, yes?"

"Of course, I promised you I would. so i will" jungkook smiled and they sat down. He too was looking forward to going back to taehyung's home and it will just be the two of them.

sorry the chapter is a bit short, i think im a bit in a writing block. the words just wont come into my head, this chapter took me almost three hours to write💀👌 like, that even, the chapter isnt even long and it took me that long. Ugh. anyway, i hope you still enjoyed the chapter, i will see you in the next update.

note, we are now over the half and will be moving towards the end of the story!
