{okay, i'm so excited to write this chapter. at first, i didn't know how i wanted the scene to go with katrina, but i'm satisfied with how it turned out. i'm also addicted in making gifs with seth and katrina because they're so much fun to make.}
Cracking every single knuckle, I lean back and sigh as I look at the finished passports for Seth and his female partner. Being satisfied, I stand and go to the mini refrigerator Sonja and I keep stocked with alcohol and leftover food that I should probably throw out. I grab a bottle of Corona, the cool glass biting my palm, and close the door. The other bottles clink together with the force of the door closing.
I use the bottle opener to pop the top before taking a drink. Hearing the door open in the front, my hand wipes away at my lips and I turn just in time to see Seth walk into the room. His eyes narrow in on the bottle in my hand and I see one of his dark brows lift.
"I needed something to take the edge off," I say, setting the beer down on the counter as I see both his brows are now raised.
His eyes travel down my body as I see him bite his lower lip. Seth shuts his eyes and does a shake of the head. "Passports?"
Nodding, I get them from the table and hand it to him.
"Parker?"
Shrugging, I take another drink out of the bottle. "I was watching Spiderman the day before I started yours. Figured it was ironic."
"You named me after a Marvel character?" His voice laced with irritation.
The temptation to roll my eyes at this man increased. "Relax. No need for the hostility. I get enough of that from my sister."
"Right," he draws out. "The sister issues."
"Excuse me? I can easily comment on your brotherly issues if you'd like to go down this road."
There's a respect I see in the Gecko's eyes as he grows me amused. "I'd rather go down on," he trails off as his eyes take a path to my lips and down, "another path."
My mouth gaps open as his brashness. I can see a hint of truth to that statement, which has my body warming up to the possibility.
Seth pulls back the sleeve of his left arm to glance at his watch. Holding my breath as he takes a small step closer, so his body is now almost pressed against my own, I look up at him. My fingers, once again, ache to caress the facial hair that decorates his face before they travel back to the hair that's collected at the back of his head. He keeps his hands to himself, and I wish he'd place them on my hips and take control like he did the other day.
"I guess it's about time you get on the road." I watch as Seth's long eyelashes go from shielding his eyes to unveiling them. Biting at the inside of my cheek, I give him a smile I hope doesn't show vulnerability.
Hating to admit this, but I'll miss this Gecko brother when he leaves with his partner. Something about him has me wanting to get closer; get to know him better. He may be a dangerous criminal that has people after him, but the thrill wouldn't be too bad. At least until it wears off. I know Benny would be against it because he wouldn't want me to be in anymore danger, but I don't know how long I can go living the life I am now, staying in this place and working at the tattoo parlor. Sonja would be an obstacle, but it seems she's already doing jobs on her own so how much could she miss me?
The touch of fingertips grazing the skin under my chin causes me to focus back to the man in front of me. His eyes shifting attention between different features of my face. His touch moved down my neck, pass the curve of the side of my breast, and down until his hand settles on my hip. Seth then moves his fingertips under the hem of my shirt so his touch glides along the skin at the small of my back.
"What are you doing?" I murmur as my body starts responding.
Seth gives his head a small shake as he squeezes his eyes shut once more as if he's contemplating something. "You intrigue me Katrina. Hell, more than any woman since my ex-wife."
Raising an eyebrow, I look at him with a sense of awe. "You were married?"
His eyes roll at my tone, but his fingers continue to dance alone my back to trace the line of skin above the waistband of my jeans. "I'd rather not talk about her." His touch roams up my spine against the tattoos I told him about until they touch the clasp of my bra. My breath hitches and I see the corners of Seth's lips curve up for a quick second before the smile disappears. "I didn't like where we left things off."
One of my hands come up so my fingers can dance along his cheek. "Then lets continue," I murmur between us before I lean forward and connect our lips. My hand curves to his cheek as the other settles on his side.
Seth's hand cups the back of my head as his other rests on my hip. We step back until I'm against the counter. I let out a loud breath when my butt hit the edge, but Seth masks it when he pulls at my bottom lip before kissing me once more. My heads tilts back as his lips travel to the side of my neck then to my collarbones, leaving kisses as he goes, and back.
Leaning back, I open my eyes to see Seth watching me with lowered lashes. The corners of my lips raise as I take in the features of his face. Something flashes in the Gecko's eyes, a softness that I haven't seen. I let out a gasp as he turns me around, so my back is now pressed against his front. My hands reach out to the counter to help steady myself, but Seth's arm around my waist keeps me grounded.
Seth's heavy breathing touches my ear as I arch back; my butt pressing against the part of him that has him cursing. "I'm an idiot," he murmurs. "I'm sorry Kat."
My eyebrows furrow in question, and as I was about to ask, Seth reaches for something before his hand raises, holding a white cloth against my mouth. Letting out a grunt in frustration, my hands wrap around Seth's arm to try and pry the cloth away from my mouth. The corners of my eyes start to release tears before my limbs start to go numb.
"Oh yeah, that's the dumbest thing you've ever done before Seth." A deep sigh sounds as my body is lowered to the ground. My mind starts to fade out. "Fuck Katrina, if we had more time..."

{this is a short chapter, but it's the best place to stop this so the next chapter will be dedicated to the fallout of seth's actions for katrina. more sonja and benny interaction in the next chapter. and the fallout will develop a tougher side of katrina that i'm excited to write.}
