The Court of Lancelot Du Lac

Now men in prison dark do wait
To see what captor deemed as fate
For knights of foe who dared to trod
Inside the realm he lofty laud.

And after many hours held
In place where all his foes do dwell.
The pair were fetched at hand of guard
Who's ways were brisk and battle hard.

To go to court were knight does reign
And all obey his orders deigned.
Inside it's halls the pair do stalk
Below the throne of Lancelot

A man whose fair in face and act
Though often bearing lechers tact
Did gaze on men who current laid
On down at fear as knight had bayed.

Beside him one who war did cause
Who's face was fair like Helen's was.
Her eyes were white and showed her blind
Her gaze no light in world did find.

Now spoke the man who owned these halls
And down to pair did angry call.
"I bid that knight from Arthur's realm
Who deigns to wear for man a helm

Should ever come to place I live
No mercy lord to man would give.
What causes pair to come to realm
Where knightly forces overwhelm

And men do heed the things I speak
That will of lord they fast do seek.
I bid you cure to tell your names
That man may know whose death I deign"

Now stepped the monk to quickly speak
That mercy great from man they seek
"My name is Bors the son of Bors
And both for Arthur's table warred.

As knight yet did in former days
When man was good and also brave.
We bid you let us leave on quest
That men may act on kings behest.

If any honors still yet owned
By man who many weapons honed."
But Lancelot reviled guest
Who current bid him honors best.

"I care not great for Arthur's wants
Nor deem I well his princely daunts
Or any grant or quest he gives
The things that king to knights do bid."

Now turning down on Galahad
With fury great and very mad.
He gazed with grating teeth so fierce
And gaze that eyes on man did pierce.

"Your name I also bid now knight
To know how dares to peril sight
Of Lancelot from Arthur's halls
Who brazen dares to head that call."

Now boy to captor hasty spoke
With will of iron fast unbroke.
"I'm Galahad the son of none"
He said though words now greatly stung.

And Lancelot at man did laugh
At fate of Arthur king most daft.
"Has Arthur fallen down so low
That quest on such a man's bestowed?

Then tell me child mothers name
That death on head I swiftly deign."
Now speaking boy did give her name
"My mothers lady fair Elaine"

Now sudden silence overtook
The man who death had former sook.
His face was pale his mouth was dry
As countenance the lord did spy.

With golden locks that knight did own
And steely gaze his father loaned
That told of tale that fate had spun
As Lancelot beheld his son...
