Prydwin

For long they sail on fairy ship
Across the seas and waves that rip.
They leave behind what's Britains lands
And move with far and foreign plan

And after many days they've sailed
By hardest work that never fails
A mist on stillest waters sets
Unsettling feeling thing abets

And men now sudden fall asleep
On down their drawn to slumber deep.
For many hours prom they lay
Now prone to great and dreadful fey.

Then sudden laughter sleep now broke
Like jingling bells it's voice now spoke.
And youngest knight from deck did rise
As rocks above him knight does eye.

Now quick he gathered things and shook
Sir Bors who deep in sleep forsook.
But older knight did fail to rise
From place where man does current lie.

So quickly man the vessels steer
From rocks on shore he hasty veers
And all about him knight does gaze
On all pillars nature raised.

The sudden knight a sight does see
That quick before his gaze does flee.
A woman bearing fishes tail
That fast in water hasty flails.

And Galahad does rub his eyes
Believing not the sight he spied.
And laughter gain does does fill the air
That speaks in heart of eldritch dare.

"Oh Galahad" a whisper spoke
"Oh Galahad" a woman joked...
Now soul with fear did hasty fill
His heart the knight did fail to still.

For Siren songs a very fey
And many men in depths do lay
At hands of mermaids fair in face
Who send their foes to wat'ry fate

About him man did many hear
Whose laughter lends him highest fear.
"We smell of fortune clings to skin
Of man that bears ignoble king.

What sweetest smell of purest heart
We sirens wish to rend apart
A drag to depths where many lay
Who failed resisting spell of day."

But down he turned his head and strove
Not daring let these creatures goad
Or turn him side the path he took
Though long by others things forsook.

Then sudden Galahad then heard
A splash at edge that caused him stir.
For side of ship by hand we're held
A fairest fey who depths did dwell.

And shudder ran through Galahad
When seeing trouble man now had.
"Oh Galahad my sweetest boy
I bid the bend to mermaids ploys.

Do come and join our fairest race
Who bear our charming feyish face
And leave behind your righteous hopes
For which you sail the sea on boat

Forgo the will your king did grant
And give to lust for time so scant."
But Galahad now upward stood
Not fearing thing she said though

"For all my life my skill I've honed
And touch of woman never known
Nor ever turned from path I'm give
No single chore of king I'm bid

I've ever left undone and lost
Though life is thing those task have cost
So turn aside I'm true in word
Not far from righteous chores I'll spur."

Now dreadful screech did fill the air
At fact that knight would ever dare
To turn aside their feyish wiles
That mermaid wrought with intent vile.

But still he onward pressed the ship
In hopes to shorten fairy trip.
And lo the boat began to rock
Before they reached the elvish docks

Of Avalon for mermaids scorned
Would have his ship asunder torn.
And Galahad to knees did fall
In hopes that God would hear his call.

Then sudden mist fro ship depart
As rocky seas did hasty part.
And island man now saw with eyes
The place where Holy Grail does lie...
