"fucking damn shit!" donghyuck cursed, carrying jaemin's body in his arms.
the demon ran back towards the boy's house.
jaemin still had the knife planted in his thigh.
and the wound was bleeding.
donghyuck used his feet to kick the door open, and hurriedly placed jaemin onto the bed, searching all around his house for a first aid kit.
the little case of band aids he found obviously wasn't enough.
donghyuck snapped his fingers, teleporting himself inside a convenience store, grabbing half of the products he could find in this alley before teleporting inside jaemin's house again.
he threw everything on the floor, grabbing a bottle of disinfectant and a pack of cotton pads.
donghyuck tore jaemin's pants open, revealing the nasty wound, the knife still inside his flesh.
the demon gulped.
"okay... let's do it." he whispered before pulling the knife out and immediately pouring the bottle of alcohol onto the bloody hole.
he used cotton to wipe off the excess of blood that was flowing out before pouring another time disinfectant on the wound.
"oh, god. i'm going to throw up..." donghyuck said, looking away for a second.
he may be a demon, he didn't have 'stabbing classes', and so, he isn't used to seeing people's blood flowing out of their body like a fountain.
after long efforts, jaemin's bleeding cessed.
however, the dozens of bloody cottons laying around the room were there to remind donghyuck of the matter.
donghyuck pulled jaemin's pants off, leaving the boy in his boxers before grabbing a roll of bandage.
as if he was a renown surgeon, donghyuck wrapped jaemin's leg in the white bandage, making sure that it wasn't too tight for the blood to pass.
"fucking jaemin..." donghyuck cursed once again.
they may not have the best relationship, but jaemin was his human.
and this meant that donghyuck had to make sure he was doing well.
so, finding the boy about to commit suicide was a bit of a shock for donghyuck.
he didn't want the boy dead.
he wanted him alive.
he wanted to be part of his life.
he wanted to help him with his life.
just like any guardian was supposed to do...

jaemin woke up feeling awful.
so, that's what waking up after dying felt like?
if he knew it would have been this painful, he wouldn't have stabbed himself in the first place.
he opened his eyes with a groan, backing off at the sight in front of him.
donghyuck was asleep next to him, his reddish hair falling over his closed eyes.
jaemin studied the devil's face for the first time.
the fact that there weren't those two glowing red orbs shining and looking at him made him realise that the boy was quite handsome.
yeah. handsome.
he was handsome when he didn't have that smirk on his face, and those two stupid red eyes.
jaemin shook his head, trying to brush those thoughts away.
and something hit him.
what would donghyuck be doing here if he was dead?
just then, donghyuck moved in his sleep, placing one of his hands between his cheek and the comfortable pillow he was resting his head on.
the colour of his hand made jaemin's eyes widen.
it had blood. dried blood.
could jaemin not actually be dead?
the teenager looked at his body, pushing the covers away to reveal a huge bandage wrapped around his right leg.
"no..." the boy whispered.
jaemin looked around.
he was inside his house.
his little house.
in guryong village.
he wasn't dead.
he was alive...
jaemin didn't notice it, but he started crying again, and his cries became sobs very quickly.
why couldn't he be dead?
why couldn't he see his parents again?
why did everything have to be this complicated?
donghyuck was woken up by jaemin's loud sobs a second after.
"jaemin..." he said, his eyes opening.
the human cried even harder at the mention of his name, not even flinching when the demon wrapped an arm around his body to make jaemin face him.
"i'm sorry... it probably hurts... i tried my best..." donghyuck said, his red orbs looking down at the bandage on jaemin's leg.
jaemin didn't answer. he kept crying.
he really wanted to kill this demon on the spot.
he was the one to save him?
he was the one to prevent him to have a new perfect life with his parents?
that demon really had made his life shitty from the beginning to the end...
seeing the state the human was in, donghyuck wrapped his arms around his body, pulling the boy closer to comfort him.
jaemin would have loved to push him away.
to reject him.
to yell at him.
to slap him.
to hit him.
to kill him.
he would have absolutely loved to do that.
but he couldn't.
he was weak.
his heart was damaged.
his life was shitty.
and his whole persona was broken.
so jaemin let himself being pulled closer.
he even nuzzled into the demon's neck.
he cried all his tears away, being cuddled in donghyuck's warm embrace.
he calmed his sobs at the feeling of donghyuck's hand drawing random patters on his back.
and soon, he stopped crying, listening to the beautiful melody that was leaving donghyuck's mouth.
"w-why...?" jaemin asked in a trembling voice, preventing donghyuck to start singing another beautiful melody that could lull jaemin to sleep.
"what?"
"why did you save me?"
donghyuck looked at jaemin's face.
the younger was staring at his leg, and at the wound he had inflected himself the night before.
"i am your demon." donghyuck replied simply.
"and you've been making my life a hell for the past month." jaemin snapped, looking at donghyuck in the eyes.
seeing his red orbs made jaemin mad.
he hated those orbs.
and it seemed like the hatred grew bigger with every time he looked at them.
"i couldn't let you die, jaemin."
"why?!" the human exclaimed. "i wanted to!
"but it's not your time to die!" donghyuck replied on the same tone, shutting the boy up for a second.
"how can you know that...?" jaemin asked, trying to wiggle out of donghyuck's embrace.
"you deserve to have a beautiful life. like everyone." donghyuck replied, not letting him go.
"a beautiful life?" jaemin raised a brow. "my parents are dead, i live in a shantytown, and i am a serial killer. how can that be a beautiful life?!"
donghyuck lowered his eyes.
jaemin didn't have the best life. he had to admit.
"leave my house." jaemin said. "i fucking hate you..."
donghyuck gave the boy a pained look before standing up from the bed.
"never come near me again." jaemin spat, fresh tears falling from his eyes.
donghyuck headed towards the front door, leaving the conventional way.
however, he stopped in his tracks before opening the door.
"why do you hate me?" he asked, obviously sad.
"why do you want to know?" jaemin snorted.
"to change the things you don't like in me..."
jaemin snorted once again, giving donghyuck a death glare.
"i hate demons. and you obviously can't change that."
donghyuck stayed silent, looking at his feet as his hand reached for the door handle.
"and why do you hate demons?" he asked a last question.
"because they were the ones who killed my parents two years ago."
