donghyuck looked down at the human that was peacefully sleeping on his chest, with his arms wrapped tightly around the only source of warmth available.

the demon smiled at the cute sight.

there was no doubt.

he was madly in love with this human.

donghyuck took some time to appreciate the boy's visuals.

his soft raven black hair.

his flawless skin.

his gracefully closed eyes.

his long lashes.

his straight nose.

his thin lips.

oh god, how much he wanted to taste them again.

he recalled the scene in the gallery.

NA's last victim.

he recalled seeing his life flashing in front of his eyes.

he recalled seeing the mirror piece threatening to kill him.

he recalled jaemin's – or NA's – menacing glare.

he recalled his heartless speech.

he recalled NA intending to kill him.

and he recalled wanting to regret nothing before the end of his life.

and by nothing, he meant not having had his first kiss.

the most vivid memory of that scene for donghyuck was surely their kiss.

sure, jaemin never kissed back.

he was frozen on the spot, not understanding what was happening, and regaining his spirits.

but the feeling of his and the human's lips colliding was to donghyuck an unforgettable memory.

at times, he could still feel jaemin's lips lingering onto his own.

and since this happened, he had been craving for the human's lips.

call him lustful.

he wouldn't care less.

the only thing he wanted was jaemin.

and he was decided to have him.

even if it meant being only friends.

it had hurt donghyuck so much to tell jaemin to forget about the kiss.

it had hurt saying that he would forget about it too.

in fact, he never forgot it.

actually, it seemed like it was even more on his mind.

being assigned jaemin was the best thing that ever happened to him.

and kissing jaemin was the best decisions he ever took.

he would never forget about it.

and he wanted it to happen again...

"i love you so much, nana..." donghyuck whispered, brushing a lock of hair off jaemin's forehead.

donghyuck admired the boy's sleeping peaceful face.

he looked ethereal.

donghyuck was so lucky to have him.

the luckiest demon.

it was a pity that jaemin was this much broken.

but donghyuck couldn't really blame him.

anyone would have become as mad as he is if they had witnessed their parents getting killed by a supernatural being in front of their eyes.

"i promise we'll take revenge, baby..." donghyuck added, kissing jaemin's forehead, pouring all his love in the kiss.

that's why he had brought him to taebaek mountains.

he knew where the fallen demons were.

he knew he would find jamein's parents' murderer.

he knew they will take their revenge.

but for now, they should make sure to stay safe.

and jaemin was, at the moment, wrapped into donghyuck's arms.

the safest place he could ever find...

"goodnight angel..." donghyuck spoke one last time before slowly closing his eyes, and drifting off to sleep with the purest human sleeping against him.

jaemin was walking next to his parents on the pavement.

it was a fresh night, and the little family had had an outing to the cinema.

it had been long since they enjoyed an evening all three of them.

the sun had set a while ago, while they were still in the warm cinema room, making the air a bit too cold for jaemin's liking. thankfully, his dad had lent him his coat, allowing jaemin to snuggle in the thick material.

"after the darkness will come the sun, that shit i said was just a mistake..."

jaemin's mom was humming a song. one of her favourites from riles. after the darkness.

she had often sung it to her son when he was younger, claiming that riles saw the life on the good side.

riles' songs were like her life's mottos.

she didn't really mind the vulgar vocabulary the singer would use.

she had fallen in love with his songs as soon as she had heard them.

and she had transmitted this liking to jaemin.

the family kept walking slowly towards their house, admiring the purplish sky, making place to real darkness later in the night.

they were a perfect family.

they loved and cherished each other.

jaemin's parents were soulmates.

they had met at their high school's prom night, and they had fallen for each other immediately.

since these days, they had been glued by the hip, and they eventually grew together, got married, and then got a child; jaemin.

apparently, their guardians fell in love too, which only made the fact they were soulmates clearer.

jaemin's mom's angel couldn't resist his dad' demon. and vice-versa.

just like jaemin's mom couldn't resist his dad.

they had a unique and beautiful love story.

a love story that promised to last, and to spread happiness.

however, it did not end as they expected...

everything took an end that night, when they were coming back from the cinema after a relaxing saturday afternoon.

"mom, can we have hot pot tonight?"

"of course, baby." jaemin's mother replied, stoping her singing to answer her son.

"we even bought ice creams for dessert." his dad added, making jaemin squeal in happiness.

"yeah, and we'll- "

"WATCH OUT!"

these two words were the last things they heard before a car came bolting their way, hitting them with full speed.

jaemin's dad had pushed their son the furthest away possible, making the boy trip and fall on the concrete, slightly bruising his knee.

but this little injury didn't matter.

jaemin turned around, looking towards his parents only to become livid.

someone had run over them.

they had been thrown a few meters away due to the shock.

"mom!! dad!!" jaemin yelled, standing up and trying to run towards them.

a loud maniac laugher made him freeze on the spot.

someone was approaching them, playing with a knife.

the tall man had walked out of the car peacefully, not glancing at jaemin before making his way towards the two human beings.

"enjoy your death..." he spoke loud and clear, standing right in front of jaemin's parents as the two being were curled up against each other, fighting to keep their eyes open because of the shock.

"NOOO!" jaemin yelled, tears falling of his eyes when he realised what was about ot happen.

the tall man turned around, making jaemin freeze once again.

he looked into his two red and glowing eyes, noticing how awful they looked.

he was a demon.

an ugly one.

dressed in all black, with a ugly bloody red tattoo on his right forearm.

"your parents deserve to die, kid." the demon said, throwing his knife in the air before catching it again.

"no! please, i beg you!" jaemin cried harder, trying to approach the demon.

"beg me all you want. i want them dead!"

the knife was thrown at jaemin's mother.

she let out a scream of pain as jaemin collapsed on the concrete, losing all his sanity.

he didn't dare to look up as the demon killed his father as well.

"you'll die when you'll have suffered as much as i have."

that was the last sentence the demon said before disappearing from their sight.

jaemin crawled on the concrete, bruising his palms and his knees as he screamed and cried looking at his parents lying dead, blood pouring out of their bodies.

jaemin woke up in a cold sweat, sitting up immediately before lifting his hand to touch his cheeks. he had been crying.

once again, he had dreamed of his parents' death.

over and over again.

as if it was the only thing that he could think about.

jaemin cried harder as his heart filled with hate and rage.

he wanted to kill this demon.

he wanted to end him and his bloodline.

he wanted to destroy him.

the only thing he could see right now was violence.

violence, hatred, blood, and murder.

he needed to murder someone.

he needed to relieve his stress.

and the closest person for that was the demon lying in the car next to him...
