"woah! my dad is the best!" mina exclaimed, shutting her phone. "do you realise he's about to catch NA?!"

jaemin gulped.

yeah, he was about to catch NA.

the problem is... jaemin is NA.

"i'm sorry, i need to go to the toilets." jaemin excused himself, standing up and leaving the classroom in a hurry.

he ran across the many corridors of the school until he reached a janitor's closet that was left open.

he engulfed in, switching the light on and closing the door behind his back.

his hands were shaking, his legs were weak, his thigh was hurting.

he was about to have a panic attack.

everything was ending now.

the police had his blood.

the police knew.

they would have the results easily.

they would find him quick.

and it will be the end for jaemin...

"donghyuck!" jaemin said out loud.

he tried thinking about the demon as much as he could, repeating his name a few times more.

"i'm here." the demon appeared in front of jaemin.

"have you heard the news?!" jaemin asked hurriedly, catching donghyuck off-guard.

"oh, we're on talking basis now?" he raised a brow.

"it's not time to play donghyuck. i thought you were supposed to erase the proofs!"

"what the hell are you talking about?"

"the police found NA's blood!" jaemin exclaimed. "they're sending it to a lab and they're going to know who is NA."

donghyuck's eyes widened in surprise.

the events of the night before came back to his mind.

he recalled seeing jaemin about to commit suicide.

he recalled preventing him to do so.

he recalled bringing him back to his house.

he recalled healing him.

he recalled sleeping next to him.

he recalled waking up and comforting him.

he recalled how jaemin made him leave.

however, he didn't recall erasing the proofs.

he didn't recall making the blood disappear.

and that's because he never did it.

"i forgot." donghyuck said in a low voice.

"you forgot?!" jaemin whisper-yelled. "do you realise your mistake?!"

"i was too busy being worried for you!" donghyuck replied on the same tone.

"bullshit..."

"excuse me?" donghyuck placed his hands on his hips. "without me here you would have been dead."

"that's a point of a suicide, stupid!"

"i didn't want you dead!"

"and i wanted me dead!"

the two boys stared at each other in the eye, slowly realising the position they were in.

the tiny janitor's closet caused them to be quite close, but they hadn't noticed that, while arguing, they had both leaned forward, causing them to have their faces a few centimetres apart now.

they both backed off with red cheeks.

"don't move, i'm coming back." donghyuck mumbled before vanishing.

jaemin snorted.

he leaned against the dusty wall, trying to calm his erratic heart.

these events were making him sick in the stomach.

everything was his fault, and he couldn't even do anything about it.

he would have liked to go see a psychologist, but he couldn't.

first, he couldn't afford one session.

and then, what would he tell them? that he is NA? that he has been killing innocent people just by pure blood lust and violence?

what a way to have all the police force on your back.

no, there was no solution.

jaemin was alone through that.

he had to deal with it on his own.

"okay."

jaemin jumped slightly when the demon appeared again.

"i know exactly what we'll be doing."

jaemin raised a brow, listening to the demon's idea.

"the labs are on strike today, so they won't be able to have the results before tomorrow. the police already brought the blood samples to the lab. it's the one near han river." donghyuck explained. "we'll burn the place tonight."

"burn the place?!" jaemin choked.

"yeah? what's the matter?"

jaemin lowered his head. "well..."

donghyuck was really asking him what was the matter?

you couldn't go somewhere and set fire to it like that!

there could be people!

there could be innocents!

they would all be killed.

and all of that for three droplets of blood?

"you should see yourself killing someone." donghyuck stated, making jaemin look at him in the eye.

"what?"

"you look so passionate about what you do. you know exactly where to hit for it to hurt. you anticipate the other's moves. you calculate everything so quickly. and you have no pity. you kill anyone."

jaemin didn't answer.

he knew donghyuck was right.

but this wasn't him.

this was NA.

this was his triggers.

that's what caused NA to appear.

jaemin didn't want to kill all those people.

that's why he wanted to kill himself.

"they'll die in a fire jaemin. the whole lab will be on fire." donghyuck explained.

"but that's disproportionate!" jaemin replied. "all that for some blood samples."

"it's not anyone's blood, jaemin." donghyuck told. "it's NA's blood. and you know what that means?"

jaemin sighed.

"whoever has it has the power to end me."

jaemin was lying on his bed, his eyes wide open.

he glanced at his alarm clock, reading 1:57 a.m.

donghyuck would be there in 3 minutes.

they had decided – well, donghyuck had – that they would leave for the lab at 2a.m.

jaemin had gone to bed early on purpose, so that he could rest before and then not get tired to go and come back from the lab.

but he hadn't been able to close his eyes.

he felt awful.

how could he sleep his best night when he knew that he was about to kill innocents just for him to be safe?

the NA in him wouldn't mind.

but jaemin did.

he felt sick at the sole thought of killing someone.

that's why he always had this state of shock after regaining his spirits when he killed someone.

he needed a bit of time for NA's blood lust to fade.

and when it did completely, jaemin was horrified by everything he had done.

"hey."

jaemin gasped, his hand finding its way to his heart once he realised that it was only donghyuck.

the demon was standing in front of him, wearing black boots, black leather pants and a black turtle neck.

he looked good. too good to commit a murder.

but he was a demon. jaemin had to keep that in mind.

"let's go?" the demon tilted his head, giving jaemin a sympathetic smile. "i know you're not very hype at the idea of doing that, but think about it that way... in a few hours, everything will be done."

jaemin sighed.

he was right.

"let's go..." jaemin whispered, grabbing the hand that donghyuck was holding out and leaving his house on a dark night, an uneasy feeling in his gut.
