"Aj tujhe meri yaad kaise agayi.." His mother said on call.

"Kyu, yaad nahi asakti mujhe, maa ho ap meri" Rajveer said.

He sighed it's vain to hide anything from her "I..I saw a to be mother, uska affection apne hone Wale bacche ke liye dekh ke....bas apki yaad agayi..." His throat choked as it's been months since he last saw her.

"Mera baccha.." she affectionately said "pata hai, jab tu chota tha mein kaam par Jaya karti thi to Teri Nani batati thi ki kaise tu pura din tu Mera wait karta tha..aur jab mein ajaya karti thi to mujhe dekh lene ke bad chup chap apne Kam me lag jata tha Bina kuch kahe.....tujhe apne emotions tab bhi jatane nahi ate the aur aj bhi tu waisa hi hai...."

"Kya bakwas hai ye" Major Anirban slams his palm on desk in anger "meri patni ka khoon hua hai, uske katil ko saza dilane ke badle app meri Megha ka character assassination kar rahe hai".

"Sir, hum apke emotions samajh sakte hai, lekin hum jo keh rahe hai wo sare saboot ke sath keh rahe hai.." Dharam said in a strict tone.

"Saboot to wo Anirudh ki biwi ke khilaf bhi mile the na..fir usey kyu chhod diya" He accuses them back.

"There is no direct evidence ki Naina ne hi murder Kiya hai, isiliye hum unhe lock up mein nahi rakh sakte hai..." Rajveer said getting irked.

Just then Naina arrives there after completing all the formalities of bail. Anirban's gaze fell on her, his body was filled with rage looking at her.

"Katil apke samne hai, aur apko sabuto ki padi hai" he was seething in anger and they all could see that.

Naina was looking in his eyes with rage "meine apki patni ko nahi mara hai, mujhpar be-buniyadi ilzam lagana band kijiye, kya milega mujhe usey maar kar...."

He smirks sarcastically"tumhara pati lattoo tha meri biwi par, uske agey piche ghumta tha...pagal tha wo uske liye, ye baat koi bhi biwi bardasht nahi Karegi...iss se bada motive aur kya hoga..." He turns to Rajveer "kyu officer?"

"Yahi motive apka bhi to ho sakta hai na....Major Anirban" Naina spoke stressing each and every word "jab apko pata chala hoga ki apki patni firse apko dhoka de Rahi hai usi admi ke sath jis se app itni nafrat karte hai, to apse ye bardasht nahi hua hoga...isi gusse mein apne dono ko maar dala. Am I right?" Naina quirks her brow at him.

Rajveer was amused to see her change of avatar. One minute she is crying and the next moment she stands fierce like some fire ball.

"Bakwas band Karo apni, samjhi...mujhpar ilzam laga kar Bach nahi sakti ho tum... Ek na ek din sach samne aa hi jayega" He glares at her.

"I hope, sach samne ajaye.." Naina glares back at him with confidence.

Rajveer was confused at their exchange of glares. Are they...hiding something?

"Ahem ahem..." Dharam coughed to gain their attention "Sir, ye apki wife ki last 6 mahine ki chats hai..jis se it's clear ke wo...Mr. Seth ke sath continue adultery mein thi".

Anirban snatches papers from his hand and sees the transcripts of her chat with Anirudh. After some minutes, he sat down on the chair  as tears were flowing continuously from his eyes...

Naina turns soft seeing his condition. "Mere rishte mein to pyaar ka naam-o-nishan nahi tha..magar apke rishte mein kis chiz ki Kami thi?"

He shakes his head in disbelief.  "jhut, dhoka, fareb... Iske siwa aur kuch nahi...aur kuch nahi" He was shattered.

"Sir, please sambhaliye khud ko" He wiped his tears as Dharam asked him to.

"I am sorry but please can we continue this some other day...I need space" he pleaded in a hoarse voice.

"It's okay we understand..App abhi ke liye ja sakte hai" Rajveer allowed him to go and asked Dharam to accompany him.

He looks at Naina with a smile "So, set to go back home.."

She turned worried "Home? Pata nahi... Waha koi mujhe ane bhi dega ya.."

Rajveer got up taking his Jeep keys "chalo.... I'll take you back" Naina was surprised but follows him out.

"Aunty, Sakshi di, app kyu aise bol Rahi hai, ap janti hai mujhe paise property Inka koi lalach nahi hai, kya meine kabhi kisi chiz ki demand ki apse itne saalo mein?" Naina tries to make them see light.

"Karti bhi kaise, dimag mein itna shatir khel jo chal Raha tha.." Sakshi make another hurtful statement.

"Dekhiye ye apka family matter hai magar fir bhi... Ye Mr. Seth ki patni thi aur inka iss Ghar mein rehne ka pura adhikar hai...morally bhi aur legally bhi" Rajveer said in strict tone.

"Wow!! Tujhe pata tha ki hum tujhe yaha ghusne nahi denge isiliye ab police ka sahara lene lagi property pane ke liye... Taki hame kanoon ki dhamki de sake" Anuradha was now seething in rage.

Rajveer was irritated with their continued rants, more than Anirudh's death they were more concerned about his property. What a caring family they are!! Note the sarcasm.

"Mujhe kuch nahi chahiye, kuch bhi nahi...mein apne hone Wale bacche ki Kasam khati hu..." Naina pleaded crying "mein kaha jaungi...mere pas koi thikana nhi".

"What? Bacha?" Sakshi and Anuradha was shocked, they exchanged glances then marched towards Naina when Rajveer comes in between.

"Dur se.." he strictly said, trying to keep his anger in check. Naina internally thanked him for backing up for her.

Sakshi glares at her "kiska bacha hai ye..." Now this shocked Naina and Rajveer "Mera Bhai iski taraf dekhta bhi nahi tha...bacha to dur ki baat hai...."

Rajveer's jaw clenched. The way Anuradha and Sakshi had humiliated her, questioning her character, accusing her of vile thing, it made his blood boil. He had to keep himself in check, lashing out wouldn’t help her.

Anuradha turns bling in rage "bhagwan Jane kiska paap mere bete ke naam par thop rahi hai, agar iske sath baccha paida karna hi hota to bahar kyu jata wo..".

"Kya bakwas kar rahe hai aap dono, ek aurat aur Maa hokar app dusri aurat ko jo maa ban ne wali hai..uspar itna ghatiya ilzam kaise laga rahi hai app" He had enough now, he couldn't bear her character assassination.

Sakshi laughs sarcastically "app bhi iski bholi Surat par fisal gaye na.... Arey dhoke baaz hai ye, mardo ko apne agey piche nachana khoob ata hai isey...bachpan se hi, chahe wo kisi bhi Umar ka Mard kyu na ho...isne to mere papa par bhi Jadu kar rakha tha..".

"That's enough" Rajveer shouted when he saw her turning pale and mumb, he was scared for her health "jo bakwas apke Mann mein arahi hai bake ja rhi hai... Apne Bhai ke karname nahi dikhe apko, Ghar mein biwi hote huye bhi bahar aiyyashi karta tha..itni takleef thi Naina se to chhod kyu nahi Diya tha isey... Divorce kyu nahi Diya?"

Hearing this both the mother Daughter duo went silent but Rajveer spoke "app nahi bata payengi...chaliye mein hi batata hu,  Mr. Vikram Seth ne Marne se pehle apni will mein Naina ko apni 70% property saunp di thi isliye na" their faces turns white hearing this.

Naina was shocked with this revelation as she was never made aware about the same.

"Anirudh Seth ki sare assets Mila kar bhi Naina ke 70% shares ka mukabla nahi kar sakte the...ye lalach tha ap sab ka Naina ko bandhe rakhne ka, haina?" Sarcasm and disgust was dripping from his mouth.

"Haan to, kya galat Kiya...uss property par hamara haq tha, jo mere bewakoof pati ne iss anath ke naam kardi thi... Pehle wo isey Ghar utha laye fir mere bete ke gale bandh diya aur ye sab kam tha kya..wo adhi se zyada jayedad iske naam kardi" Anuradha slams.

"Ek bar keh kar to dekha hota Maa" Anuradha glares at her for calling her maa "sorry...aunty. mujhe kuch nahi chahiye tha, kuch bhi nahi...badle mein bas app logo ka sath aur pyaar chahiye tha mujhe, par aap wo bhi nahi de sake mujhe" she sobbed silently feeling betrayed by her so called family.

"Ye magarmach ke ansu kahi aur bahana, mera bhai aur baap ab Zinda nahi hai inme behne ke liye......aur hum par to iska asar hone se raha...Jo chahiye tha tujhe wo mil Gaya na, ab nikal yaha se" Sakshi moves near her to throw her out when Rajveer interviens.

She glares at him for coming in between "sochiyega bhi mat..." Anuradha too glares at him angrily "warna domestic violence ka case bante der nahi lagegi..." Rajveer warns them in their own language "aur ap dono ache se janti hai, iske sabut jutana mere liye mushkil nahi hoga...".

They both backs off silently. Naina looks at him in gratitude, whatever he is doing for her is beyond his capacity as an officer.

Every time he saw her, something within him shifted? That her tears, her resilience, and her quiet strength had begun to pierce through the walls he'd built around his heart?

"Thik hai, ye yaha reh sakti hai.." Naina smiled in relief when Anuradha said so "magar yaad rahe, hadse kabhi bhi, kahi bhi, kisi ke bhi sath ho sakte hai...aj mujhse Mera beta china hai..kal ko kisi se bhi uski aulaad alag ho sakti hai..." She said in warning tone.

Shiver ran down her spine hearing this, she protectively placed her arms around stomach, when Rajveer wanted to lash at them Naina stopped him by holding his hand. He looks at her in confusion when she shakes her head stopping him.

He sighed, when she herself stopped him, he cannot do anything. Naina saw a sheen determination in her Mother-in-law's eyes, she was mad with rage, and whatever she said, she can do that definately and that's what scared her.

"App log property ke papers bhijwa Dena...mein sign kar dungi...mujhe ya mere bacche ko app logo se kuch nahi chahiye...." The mother daughter duo smiled in victory "aur iske baad hum dono ka Seth family se koi lena dena nahi hoga...na ap hame jante na hum apko".

"Tumse rishta rakhna bhi kaun chahta hai" Sakshi said rolling her eyes

Her vulnerability stirred something deep within him, an instinct to protect, to shield her from the storm she was caught in.

"Why are you doing this? Ye haq hai tumhara aur iss bacche ka...kya karogi iske baad tum" Rajveer whispered.

Naina shakes her head "hamara haq sirf ek dusre par hai... Ab Jo bhagwan chahenge wahi hoga..." Naina comes out of the house silently.
