The bright round moon beamed in the sky and the moonlight shone into the cell through the window where Leila sat at the corner, locked inside. She felt cold and weak as she had been tortured several times and chained inside.
It was getting difficult to heal without her wings. She went through several interrogations but remained quiet. She could not lie so it was safer to not speak. In the end, she passed out during one of the session due to numerous injuries.
She heard something hitting the poles of her cage so she looked up in that direction. One of the Guards in charge continued hitting the cell bars with his bat to get her attention. Guards are followers of Heads who act upon their orders.
"You need to go for your interrogation."
She got up and obediently followed him to the interrogating room. It was her last session. She just had to go through this for the last time. But it was going to be a difficult one since Pierre was the one responsible for questioning her.

"It's been such a long time, Leila. Or should I call you Angel?" He said while laughing in between his sentences.
Leila just stared at him with a blank face. She was not in the mood to take in his joke. He stopped and became serious when she was not responding.
"Let's get straight to the point. Where's Lucas?"
Leila remained silent just like Pierre expected it. He had observed all of the sessions and knew that she would keep quiet throughout the entire session but he was not going to let it end the same way. Not in his one.
"Never mind let me change the question. Where is the key to the door?"
It seemed like they had figured out where Lucas was hidden. Leila started to panic but managed to put on a poker face. His safety was her first priority. She should not make any mistake.
Again there was no response and it was starting to irritate him. Pierre was never patient and had bad temper. He stood up and walked towards her.
"You do know that he is labeled as victim. Nothing will happen if you tell us his whereabouts."
She knew he was sprouting nonsense just to get her speaking. She knew that the moment Lucas got caught; he would have no escape and be forced to do anything for them. She had been in Galax for way too long to know how things work.
"This is getting boring," he whined as he put on his fighting gear on his hand. He punched the table which cracked into half.
"How do we open the door?" He raised his voice as anger boiled inside him but Leila did not even bat an eye. She kept her mouth shut. And that was the last straw. Pierre had lost his control over his anger and punched Leila. His strength was too strong that she flew towards the wall. She coughed out blood as she dropped onto the floor.
He walked towards her and pulled her by the shirt.
"Willing to speak now?"
He believed it was about time for her to speak. But the reaction was not what he expected. He was shocked to find her...laughing.
She was indeed laughing like a mad person. It was the first time she had ever reacted. She looked at him in a mocking way. She actually found the situation amusing.
"How desperate," she smirked.
He threw her away out of anger and pulled out the drawer which had several weapons used for torture during interrogations.
"You should remember I have every right to do anything to you here as long as you don't die. Anything that happens in this room remains in this room."
He scanned the different weapons. Torture was his favorite method but Leila had gone through these several times so she was not surprised by his choice of method.
He chose a baseball bat with spikes poking out of it. He swung it hard and hit her in the leg. She screamed in horror as the pain rushed through her body. Despite being used to it, it was still painful to her. Pierre grinned evilly as he listened to her scream. He loved the response.
"That's more like it."

"Now speak!"
He repeated every time he hit her with the bat. Leila was short of breath and was covered in her own blood. Despite that, she chose to remain silent. It drove him crazy. He hit her one last time and threw away the bat covered in blood.
He knelt down in front of her and pulled her by the hair.
"Since you do not wish to talk about him. Let's change subject the topic."
He pushed her face away and got up to take his bat.
Leila was having a hard time keeping her conscious. Her wounds were not healing and if she were to get beaten one more time, she would pass out.
Pierre seemed to have noticed that. If she were to pass out, the interrogation would end. He did not wish for that to happen. After all, he was still not satisfied enough in torturing her yet.
"You know I had always been interested in Aaron."
Leila's ears pricked immediately when she heard him say his name. She wondered why he was suddenly bringing Aaron into this case. He cleaned the blood off the bat with a clean cloth and smirked.
"He seemed to resemble someone, don't you think?"
Her face darkened as she listened to him. It was not a question but a threat. He licked his lips and hummed, "I wonder what's behind his mask."
He walked towards her and wrecked her arm with the spikes on the bat until it broke which caused blood to spurt out. However, Leila had no more energy left to scream out. He did not like her reaction. He cupped her face and pulled it towards him. She was totally worn out and he did not like it a single bit. The situation was too dull for him; he wanted to hype it up so he decided to pull her strings.
"He's Tyler, isn't he?"
He threw her on the ground and turned around to select a new weapon.
"It will be killing two birds with one stone if I catch both of them. Tyler, the escaped sinner and Lucas, the escaping sinner."
He was satisfied with what he said. He laughed evilly until he felt something hard hit his face. It was so strong that it broke his jaw.
Leila landed on her feet and brushed off the dust on her clothes. She cracked her neck and cleaned the blood off her body. The wounds started to close up slowly.
Pierre laughed as he stood up and smacked his head to get his jaw back in its place. His veins popped out as he got more excited.
"That's more like it."
He jumped towards her and threw a punch at her but only ended up hitting the ground as she managed to doge it. His strength was definitely monstrous that he made an enormous dent on the ground.
He immediately moved towards her and continuously threw punches at her. Without her wings, Leila wasn't as fast as she used to be. But she was still strong enough to block all his attacks.
"What's wrong? Can't catch up without your little wings?"
He challenged her by changing his stance and raised his leg to kick her. But she dodged by lowering down on the floor and swiped her leg across his which caused him to fall.
As he fell, he grabbed her leg tightly and the sound of her bone cracking was heard. She stomped on his arm with her freed leg, forcing him to release her leg.
She licked the blood on her lips and her leg immediately twisted in a way that the bone reconnected itself. She kicked her leg to make sure it works while Pierre pushed himself from the floor.
Without her noticing, he was already behind her. However, she was fast enough to block his punch. He smirked and kicked her in the leg which caused her to bend backwards.
"You do know that they will still get caught anyways. And at that time I'll make sure I break their skulls into pieces," he told her with a thrill.
What he didn't expect next was that he was being held by the throat. By a very strong force, he was being pushed across the room until a wall blocked him from getting any further push. Parts of the wall started to fall apart and he couldn't move at all.
Leila dropped him and kicked his stomach. His mind was blank and he was feeling heavy. Leila walked away from him and went to pick up the broken half piece of the bat. The moment she held the bat, pieces started to rejoin.
She walked back towards him and held up the bat which had completely repaired by itself.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on them," she ordered him as she swung the bat and knocked him out.

The room fell into silent afterwards. Only his breathing could be heard. Leila did hit him but did not use the force she required to kill him. She never wanted to kill anyone.
"Anything that happens in this room stays in this room," she spoke in a monotone and threw the bat, covered in his blood, away. She did not like the sight of it and decided to leave him there.

Outside the room, Alex stood to wait for her. The Guard who had escorted her had been knocked out cold.
"Let's return to the cell."
There would be several other Guardians guarding the place. She knew that there was no escape and she knew it would just lead to more trouble if she escaped. She was willing to take any punishment as long as this mess could be cleared.
As long as Lucas was safe.
