"once an idea has taken hold of the brain, it is almost impossible to eradicate"

Evelyn and what looks like two potential partners are already setting up when Ontario and Tamiyasu arrive. (Ontario is choosing to omit the 'in crime' part today; it's honestly just self-care.) One of them, a very tall Asian man with bluish-silver hair, glances at them briefly before doing a double-take; he straightens up and signs (to Ontario's understanding), "Hello."
"You know this guy?" Ontario asks, to which Tamiyasu nods. It's not all that surprising, he supposes — everyone is bound to know someone in this highly mutual line of work.
"I'll go say hi," Tamiyasu signs to him, before jogging off toward the other man. Ontario eyes the both of them as he walks over to Evelyn. "Who—"
"Who's that?" Evelyn cuts him off, smirking as if she knows something he doesn't. "Simply recruiting whoever's best for the job, are ya?"
"I am — thank you for your very shrewd observation." Ontario chuckles dryly. "How's this coming along?" He gestures to the various architectural models lying on the table, but it seems Evelyn doesn't want to change the subject just yet.
"How'd you manage to convince him?"
"How I did you."
"But I thought he no longer does team work."
"People change." Ontario hopes. There's a brief period of silence as Evelyn falls quiet and he starts to set up his own equipment.
"Well, I suppose I owe you a thank you," she says.
"What for?"
"I missed him too." Evelyn pats him on the back, then bounces off before Ontario can utter a word.
