just me talking about some oc concepts that have stuck w me more than others xD welcome lets have some chatty chat

i've been writing since i was rly young and yk, creating lots of ocs. most of them r kinda generic, or u just kinda grow out of, like u thought they were so cool but then u grew up and they become kinda cringe yk 🤣💀 but for some special ones, ig i just think the concept is rly neat.

first one that jumps to mind is my hydrokinetic boyo, or as some of yall may know, Caspian Harusato 🤣 he actually used to be a BNHA oc, and then genshin oc, and finally a character in one of my friends' fics. his power is just controlling water so, pretty generic right? but i rly liked the fact that it fucks up his lungs so now the character just has pulmonary edema 💀💀 (medical condition where u have water in ur lungs).

im p sure i was into Bungou Stray Dogs back then yk (i mean im still a fan now, its good, the manga be kinda bic brained tho), and tho i never liked the character Akutagawa Ryuunosuke that much, i always rmbred that he was introduced with a cough as a signal for his appearance. like whenever u heard coughing u'd know he's about to come on. and fsr???? that was a rly cool character trademark to me 🤣

and it happened to align nicely w some sort of power that would be simple but difficult to control, which can lead to side effects w overuse (and the BNHA oc was a villain so needless to say he abused his quirk lots lmao). i made it so that he was a fine user of the ability, but he used it sm that inadvertently the water started to remain in his lungs, causing pulmonary edema that would manifest noticeably as a chronic cough.

when BNHA boy got scrapped, i made Genshin Impact hydro vision user, but i didnt think that the whole serious, in-control kinda personality suited him. so i made it so that he would be so lazy at trying to master his potential that he gives himself some harmful side effects, lmao 🤣🤣💀 im sorry Cas

and the same applies to the one known as Caspian Harusato now, hehe. tho i do miss the all-business-no-fun og pulmonary edema haver LMAAOO

about two years ago i also made an oc who i know would have a villain arc, lol. he starts out w one of the most tragic backstories in that AU, but he seems to turn out fine for a while yk. he works for the good side, actually has upright morals, very kind n all that. n then ppl he thought he could trust stabbed him in the back hh 💀 so he kinda went rogue/snapped and became an antihero — still wants the same goal, but thru different means now ig.

i find him rly interesting tbh, and i do rly wanna write a story where the main character turns out like that. it would be a cool challenge to have it still all make sense to your readers, somehow.

my og stories usually include pairs of siblings lol, bc i find that dynamic interesting and good to work w, and also bc i have a sibling myself 😋

also, sometimes, i create ocs when im bored

a few years back when i was in a school play, one of my props was a brown teddy bear w a green plaid bowtie. i was asked to name it so i named it Theodore-Jack, or TJ for short. it was a good basis to make an oc out of, and i must've been bored, bc i did end up making a couple ocs out of it 🤣

the one based off of the bear is obv also named TJ. he's basically an e-boy with an interest in butterfly knives (i rmb finding abt those knives and the cool tricks thru random ytb recs). sadly he's prolly the less interesting one compared to his sibling tho, who is this girl named Libra.

ngl she kinda unhinged as hell and basically her deal is she's this cutesy girl who can wield a sharpass katana w crazy speed, and also that (true to her name) she judges her victims before she kills them. but the system is based on her personal morals and what she sees fit in each situation; which, since she is also only like 14-15, is flawed af.

i think that concept is interesting lol, the fact that the audience is supposed to root for her bc she is the protag and supposedly the good guy, but at the same time they may not want to, or they just cannot understand her lol 💀👍

i also made Alfie Feng to accompany these two, essentially he's a foil to TJ ig?? and another korean girl. i never could come up w a proper universe and story plot for the four of them tho

last character for today ig :0 is the one yall came to know as Kien :)) actually ig he is a mashup of a couple of chars

his first concept was as a ghost who is in a relationship w Death lmao 🤣 (man talk abt chuunibyou) no but srsly he's just supposed to vibe w Death as their partner and hang out at their shared apartment in purgatory or sth. i alr had the idea of him being mute with a knife stabbed thru his throat back then, i think it's just one of those character designs u come up w and end up liking sm u just keep the character bc of it.

then i tried to put him into so many diff stories and AUs lmao, i just think he's interesting in general, and his personality (quiet but intelligent, kalm until provoked, kinda nurturing and protective type) is classic but to me its fun to have (bc i always like those caring dad type characters in animanga yk, Aizawa Shouta is a prime example). his og name was Kien, but he did become Kazami Hisaya at some point, then back to Kien again. there is a version of him (i think??? at least inspired by him) who is also called Kien, tho he is a half-elf and much younger in appearance. the most-widely-known version of this oc would be mid/late twenties lol

oh yes, aside from the knife and ghost deal he also always had a third eye in the middle of his forehead xD and he is very good at knife-fighting (the elf one was good w a bow instead lmao) idkkk hahaha i just like his design a lot, tho seriously i dunno why he came to be dead like that, i tried to create a backstory but they just don't fit. in the end i just make it so that he has no memories of the cause either :)) maybe it was an enemy, maybe it was himself... he'll never know, and neither will we 🤣

thinking abt it now idk why i don't have many notable female characters. it's often been easier for me to just share my own self thru a male character as well. when i make female chars, for some reason, ig they just grow to be unrelatable to me xD

a bit unrelated but fun fact, about the relating to males thing: im asexual which means i don't feel sexual attraction, but before i realized this fact, occasionally i just thought that perhaps it was sth about being female in general that made me this way, and if i had a biologically male body, maybe then i would enjoy sex xD probably just sth about the overly heteronormative society we live in and also stereotypes tho :P

anyway xD i am in isolation/quarantine due to covid haha and been pretty bored ig, thanks for reading if you've made it this far. hope that was interesting xD and idk maybe eventually this book will see some kind of revival lol. dont hold me to it tho 💀
