Today is the day that I've been looking forward to for 11 long years and now I can get the answers that I longed for.

With the help of my five researcher friends,  I plan on rescuing anyone especially my dad and to explore this island to find out what really happened.

I packed my bags the same day we learned of our departure, informed my mom about it and also asked permission to leave noodles with her, which she agreed to.

After packing my essentials and checking the place to see if I was all set to go, I got inside a taxi instead of driving my Suzuki.

Since I didn't feel comfortable leaving my vehicle in the parking lot of the agency and found that the parking lot near my apartment safer.

Arriving at the agency, I saw the other researchers and Greg outside with luggage's ready for our journey. They all wore suitable attire for this adventure including me, well so I hoped.

I wore a white long sleeve shirt tucked in my khaki long baggy pants that hugged on my ankle, black closed up boots, a black duffle bag and a large suitcase with all my clothes including other things that I would need.

My hair was braided in two cornrows as it would be easily tamed while away from home.

We all pilled up into a grey SUV and was on our way to the seaport. On arrival, we boarded one of many boats that the agency owned and was off to the island with all our personal items, equipment, and other needed gears.

We all received hats with a camera and

earbuds so that we could hear from the agency and for them to see what's going on from there.

Which was their first time doing this, since back then technology wasn't as high tech as now.

Jimmy was our captain on the boat and as funny as it may sound he did seem to know a lot about boats so it was great.

Finally, we arrived at the shore and it was already getting dark so we got some twigs and sticks near us to make a fire.

"This reminds me of camp," I said out loud and everyone agreed. 

We then pitched our tents, secured our stuff inside and came back out by the fire with our food and snacks to celebrate our successful arrival.

We talked about what we would do the next morning, also got messages from the agency to help us by giving us some pointers.

We then all went to bed when it was pitch black around.

All I could hear were the waves breaking on the shore and the sound of the leaves on the tree as it danced with the winds.

Being soothed by the sounds I zipped up my tent, placed my head on my pillow and went into a sweet, deep, relaxing sleep.

Next Morning

I woke up to the sound of a loud noise which sounded like an alarm and attempted to switch it off, keyword attempted.

After some time I then remembered that I wasn't home and didn't come with an alarm clock so I jumped up from my sleep startled.

Only to find out that the noise was coming from the earpiece that I left in my ears. 'Cue the eye rolls!'

Grumpily, I got off my sleeping bag, unzipped my tent to check on the others.

Surprisingly they were all up eating and setting up to start on our mission.

I immediately did the same and joined them in the planning.

"Okay guys, so we have only three objectives to accomplish. Test out the island to find any not so normal activities, find out what exactly happened to the researchers and bring back any survivors. We have five days to complete our mission and we are on the second day. Let's use this day to test out the island and take note of anything unusual you come across. Got it?" commanded Sam.

"Yes sir", everyone replied.

Although we were all friends this was a serious mission and we couldn't play any games because it could ruin everything.

We packed up all our stuff and geared up to get ready for our task. We placed all our language and other unnecessary items that weren't needed for this specific task and stored them in a large container near a big tree.

After placing a camera to monitor the stuff we headed inside the jungle.

Inside the jungle, we separated into two groups and gave a specific time to regroup at the same spot.

We programmed our devices to this location so we could all get back without getting lost.

In my group, there were Jimmy and Kim since each group needed a scientist.

And so we went searching the jungle for hours trying to find any clue and got nothing. 

Finally, our time was up and went back.

By that time we were all hungry and started preparing something to eat as soon as we got back.

We regrouped at the specific spot and went back on the shore where our belongings were.

Thankfully all our belongings were the same place near the tree and positioned exactly the same way.

While the guys pitched the tents once again the girls prepared the meals that we are all familiar with...RAMEN NOODLES!

It was the best choice we made since we didn't really have to do a lot of preparation for it and it was done in seconds.

After our delicious meal, we stayed a little while around the fire which we used for cooking the ramen noodles, talked about what we saw saying that everything looked normal.

We all agreed that tomorrow we will have to go even deeper into the  jungle.

While everyone chatted amongst themselves, I zoned out and kept thinking of my dad and what he would be doing at the moment.

Is he dead? Is he safe? Who is he with? 

All those questions came rushing to my mind and I felt even more anxious to find him.

A voice brought me out of my little Lala land and noticed that it was my partner Jimmy who sat down beside me without me noticing.

"Hey are you okay?" he asked.

"Yes, I just have somethings on my mind at the moment and zoned out that's all," I said kindly. 

"You just looked really sad so wanted to check up on you" he replied back.

Aww.. how sweet! I mentally thought. 

"Thank you but I'm okay," I said with a reassuring smile.

With that, he returned the smile and went back to his previous spot making eye contact with me every once in a while.

It felt a little weird since we didn't really know each other that well but I let it go thinking that he was just being friendly and smiled back when he did.

"Today was so long and tiring. Think I'll head to bed now" said Jane while yawning.

Everyone nodded their heads in agreement and left me there alone in my thoughts.

I laid down on the sand to watch the stars as they shone brightly in the light and thought about all the possible outcomes that could occur after these five days and what happened next never ever crossed my mind, not once.
