And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. - Genesis 2:9 (NKJV)

To understand what you need to do, you need to have the things that will help you become the person that God created you to be. Seeing that Adam was the manager of Eden, He needed trees. He needed the plants. He needed the animals to be created. Everything that He needed to fulfill His purpose was in the environment that God placed him in. 

Adam found purpose in His environment

 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. - Genesis 2:20 (NKJV)

While Adam was busy with fulfilling His purpose; God had a plan for marriage for Adam. The bible says, there was not found a helper comparable to him. Adam was alone not because he was single, but because he was the only one of his kind. God made a companion for Adam, but Adam married his companion. While God designed marriage, He helps us choose. Adam chose Eve, though God created Eve for Adam. 

After God's kind

Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. - Genesis 2:24-25 (NKJV)

God created everything to have it's own kind. That's why we have multiple kinds of animals. You have blue jays. Pigeons and Chickens. Different, but all birds. This is what God meant when He said that everything would be created according to its kind. Adam was alone because he never had anyone who was like him. Men are obviously different from women. Men are logical while women are emotional. It's not a criticism, but an observation. A man will speak with his mind while a woman will speak with her heart. Much as we are different, we are still the same and make the species of humans. That's what Adam lacked. He lacked a companion. 

God will not interfere with what He purposed for you 

Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to []Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. - Genesis 2:19 (NKJV)

God honors what He places in us so much that even He won't interfere. So God creates the beasts, but Adam had the privilege of naming them all. God is awesome! He believed in Adam so much that He didn't question Adam's decisions. The bible says, whatever Adam called each creature, that was it's name. The beauty of having God's presence is that God trusts you. Can God trust you with His gift? Can God depend on you? 

Did God give Adam a wife?

 And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." - Genesis 2:18 (NKJV)

Before we all get excited, let's try and think about the kind of man that Adam was. He was in the presence of God, with God's identity. He was fulfilling purpose and had the word of God. If Eve knew what God wanted them to do, it must mean that Adam taught Eve the word. Ladies and gentlemen, as a young people, we need the word of God. Fellas, how will we ever lead our partners if we do not have the word of God? Okay. Let's read the scriptures together. 

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you[] shall surely die." - Genesis 2:16-17 (NKJV)

God gave Adam an instruction. Adam received a word from God. Adam received God's word. You cannot fulfill your purpose without the word of God. God needs to talk to you. Without the word, you are left without guidance. If things went bad even after the word of God was given, can you imagine how bad it would have been had Adam not received the word? How do we know that Eve received the word? 

Well, in Genesis 2:17, Adam is a single man. God spoke to Adam. And yet,  did Eve find out about the instruction. Adam must have told her. Why do I think so? Well because, Adam was the manager of Eden. He was responsible for tending the garden and keeping it. We learned that keeping the garden also means to guard it and to protect it. Adam was responsible for everything in the garden, including Eve. 

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; - Genesis 3:1-2 (NKJV)

Now we know that Eve had been taught the word of God. This Scripture confirms it. God first told Adam,  but if Eve received the same word too, then Adam must have done his job, well, at least part of it. 

Ladies, the man you like, can he teach you the word of God? Does he seem to live in the purpose of God? Is he responsible? If the dude is irresponsible, do not think he'll change just because he met you. If he cannot take care of himself, how will he take care of you? I am not even talking about money. Yes! I got you! Adam was a responsible man. I know we give him a hard time, but look at all he did and all he had. Before you judge him, do you have the word of God in you at least? 

Relationships are not a joke. If you cannot handle a relationship, perhaps you shouldn't get into one. Don't say you are having fun. Many people come out with heartaches and all kinds of issues. You might want to be equipped before you consider it. Shalom.
