Brendan's Pov

I can't believe Harper could do something like this.
I mean she doesn't even know the guy.
I know I've told her not to talk to me anymore but I also know that's gonna be difficult for me.

Right now I'm driving to Mackenzie's to go check on her. I know she's hurt
I mean her current bestfriend kissed her ex bestfriend, Who wouldn't be?
I'm also pretty sure she doesn't want to talk to Harper anymore so I told Harper that. I did good, right?

When I arrive I don't knock just take the spare keys from underneath the flowerpot and open the door.
When I go inside I'm hit by the amazing smell of macaroni cheese.

"Hi Lisa,"
I say and yes I call Mackenzie's mother by her first name

"Oh, hi Brendan how are you?"
She asks

"I am great and by the way that smells amazing!"
I say

"Well, you'll have to stay for dinner than and Mackenzie is in her room,"
She says

"Thank you,"
I say and walk of to Mackenzie's room

When I arrive I first knock and then open the door.
Mackenzie's lying on her bed with her face stuffed with ice cream

"Hey,"
I say

"Hi,"
She says back

Her eyes are all puffy, that means she's been crying

"Are you alright?"
I ask

"Yeah, just peachy,"
She answers

"I'm sorry for what happened,"
I say

"Don't worry I'm okay,"
She answers

"I still can't believe someone could do something like that,"
I say

"Well, someone did do it.
You know I really don't wanna talk about it.
Can we just do something else?"
She asks

"Yeah, sure
Let's watch a movie,"
I say

"Okay, you go get something to eat and I'll choose the movie,"
She says

"Okay, but please don't put on something like mean girls,"
I plead

"We'll see about that,"
She says with a mischievous grin on her face

"You're gonna put on mean girls aren't you?"
I ask already knowing the answer

"Well, it is my choice,"
She says smiling

"You are impossible,"
I say and walk downstairs to get food

(1h 37m later)

"That was the most cliché movie I have EVER seen,"
I say

"Shut up, that was an AMAZING movie,"
Mackenzie says hitting me on my shoulder

"If you say so.
Now what should we do now?"
I ask

"Well, it is getting kinda late so maybe we should get some sleep.
Tomorrow is a school day after all,"
She says

"Well, I would have stayed here but my mom just texted me about staying at home tonight since I'm never at home
so I guess I'll have to leave now,"
I say

"Okay, and thanks for everything,"
She says

"It's okay, I'm happy I could make you feel better.
And by the way I told Harper that she can't talk to me or you again so she won't bother you tomorrow,"
I say

"Yea- what?"
She asks

"Umm, I told Harper not to talk to us,"
I say

"Why would you do that?"
She asks looking confused

"Well, isn't she the reason you were crying?
Because of Blake?"
I ask getting confused

"Yeah, I am upset because of Blake but Harper has nothing to do with this,"
She says

"But Brit- wait why were you exactly crying?"
I ask because now I'm more than confused

"Well, so I was talking to Harper, than I suddenly saw Blake and I kinda started staring at him. Harper didn't know he was my ex bestfriend so she said something about us making a cute couple. I couldn't take it anymore so I ran away,"
She explains

"Wait so, she didn't kiss Blake?"
I ask

"What?!
Harper kissed Blake?!"
Mackenzie shouts

"Woah, calm down let me explain,"
I say

"Okay, go on,"
She says trying to calm herself

"So when I saw you crying I ran after you but you were already gone so I went back to school. Then suddenly Brittany and Thea stopped me midtrack and said that you were upset because Harper kissed Blake,"
I say

"What?!
And you believed them?!
Seriously Brendan they both hate Harper so they lied to you,"
Mackenzie says

"I don't get it.
Okay Brittany hates Harper but Thea doesn't even know her,"
I say

"Ugh, you remember the six chair challenge?"
Mackenzie asks

"How could I forget.
That's where I got out of the competition,"
I say

"No, the girls six chair challenge,"
She says

"Yeah, I guess,"
I say

"Well, when Harper got the golden buzzer she replaced Thea.
And you know that Thea thought that she was the best singer in the whole world,"
Mackenzie says

"Wait so- Oh fuck
Shit, shit, shit!"
I curse

"Brendan are you alright?"
Mackenzie asks worried

"Mackenzie I , Harper, she didn't do anything and I, fuck,"
I say not able to form a correct sentence

"Okay, what did you do?"
She asks sounding nervous

"I fucked up, I told her I hate her and that she can never talk to us again and I, I was shouting at her!
I totally fucked up Mackenzie,
I totally fucked up"

"Well, you can apologise
I'm sure she'll forgive you,"
Mackenzie says

"What if she hates me?
I said mean things to her Mackenzie
What if she doesn't want to talk to me anymore?"
I ask

"Brendan, I know her okay
She would be happy if you apologised
You guys could go back to normal,"
She says

"I don't know
What if sh-"
I start but I'm cut off by Mackenzie

"Okay, that's it will you just stop with the what ifs!?"
She shouts

"Harper is an amazing girl you can't just give up on her because you messed up. You are going to apologise and that's it! If you don't you're gonna regret it later!"
She shouts

"But how?"
I ask

"I don't know that's your job
But promise me you will apologise in a way that Brittany and Thea see it.
I wanna see their faces when their plan goes down the drain,"
Mackenzie says with pure disgust in her tone

"You know what Mackenzie, I will
I surely will
I am NOT giving up on her."
