Chapter Two
I wandered for days, getting skinnier by the hour. I tried to ration my food well in case I was completely lost, but it was tough. I mean, it is really hard to not eat when you're starving and there's an entire bag of sour cream and onion chips in your bag. It felt like months of walking aimlessly before I stumbled upon an old looking house. I crept up to it and could hear guitar, drums, bass, and someone singing. No, less singing, more moaning or something. I took a shaky breath.
Knock, knock, knock.
The singer stopped, and the rest of the band followed. I heard muffled voices, then footsteps. I stepped back, shivers running down my spine.
The door creaked open. "See, Frank? There's no one-" the man's eyes drifted to me. He had bright red hair and piercing eyes. "-here." He finished, his gaze fixed on me. Behind him was a man with black hair that hung in his eyes.
"Um," I shivered. "Bye," I took off running.
"Hey, kid," the man called after me. I heard more footsteps, then he grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back. Startled and shaken, I fell, hitting my knee on a rock.
Tears welled up in my eyes as pain shot through my knee, and I could feel blood on my now ripped jeans.
The red-haired man looked back at his friend who was behind him, waving and mentioning for him to come. The other man was jogging over before he brought his hand up.
"Are you okay? What are you doing out here all alone? Who are you? Do you need help?" The black-haired man slammed me with questions.
"I-I'm fine," I whimpered. "Nothing, uh," I racked my brain for a fake name. "I'm Grace, and, no, I don't need help Who are you two?"
"Oh, sorry," the red-haired man apologized. "I'm Gerard and this is Frank.
"Way. Iero." I remembered. "From My Chemical Romance?"
"So we have a fan," Frank chuckled.
"Definitely, YES." I gushed. "I love you guys! I can't wait for the next album!"
Gerard grinned.
"What song were you rehearsing?"
"Oh, uhm," Gerard laughed. "Its called Destroya."
"The music was cool," I commented. "The singing, well, ah, all I heard was, uhm, moaning?"
Frank laughed, and Gerard glared at him, which made him stop and clear his throat.
"Its part of the song," he said, turning slightly red.
"Oh," I chuckle.
"Here, let me-" Gerard took my hand and helped me off my feet, pain returning to my knee. It buckled when I put pressure on it, making me fall into Gerard.
"Sorry," I said quickly, backing up.
"That's okay. Can you stand?"
"Not well."
"Here, I'll-" he wrapped his arm around my back and picked me up, cradling me in his arms. I clung to his neck as Frank walked beside us, pouting.
"Frank, don't pout like that," Gerard said in a warning tone.
He let out a huffy breath. "Fine."
I held back a laugh. I might have been delusional, but it seemed like Frank Iero was jealous that Gerard was holding me. I wanted to squeal, Frearard!
"You don't have to do this for me," I whispered, loosening my grip around Gerard's neck.
He smiled at me. "I know."
