Hamilton? Ah heck yes (Chapter 1)
When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood's run stale
The radio on the bus was playing one of Katsuki's favorite songs. He enjoys listening to the noise in the background, always singing along in his mind. Seeing the lyrics pop up in his brain as the tune plays. Occasionally he forgets that he's on a bus and will mumble the words in a perfectly harmonious voice. He got weird stares from the people sitting around him but he doesn't care. He was already famous for the sports festival and that already painted a picture in everyone's mind.
So they dug your grave
And the masquerade
Will come calling out
At the mess you made
Don't want to let you down
But I am hell bound
Though this is all for you
Don't want to hide the truth
This band always seemed to speak directly to how he was feeling. Always alienated by others, always seen as one thing that people hate. Forced to hide part of his identity that he loves, because people would look down upon him.
They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go
One's soulmate is chosen by fate, it doesn't matter if they say no, you are destined for each other. Love is not what you choose, a choice is made by the gods to torture you. Torture you to find them, knowing how they feel through the lyrics of a song.
The bus stopped at the base of the UA hill. Katsuki always enjoyed the peaceful walk he had before school and after, it was a nice opportunity to clear his mind and sing. He would never sing in front of the people he knew, but he would walk along a path he made in the woods. His voice would be echoing from the trees making it impossible to pinpoint his location.
A few of the other UA students just so happened to walk to school in time to see Katsuki get off the bus. So they decided to follow him. The bakusquad trailed behind him as he wondered off into the trees.
Ever since I could remember
Everything inside of me,
Just wanted to fit in
I was never one for pretenders,
Everything I tried to be,
Just wouldn't settle in
If I told you what I was,
Would you turn your back on me?
And if I seem dangerous,
Would you be scared?
I get the feeling just because,
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
If this problem lies in me
A monster-
The squad was awestruck. They had never heard a voice so in tune as his. They almost forgot to be quiet. Denki just so happened to step on a branch.
Katsuki immediately stopped and stood straight up. Slowly turning his head to see who it was, he started to have tears prick at his eyes. People he knew... just heard him sing.
His whole life came crashing down, he panicked and started to run when he stopped again. He turned around once again, and started to stomp angrily towards the group.
"If you tell a single soul about what you saw or heard right now. I will explode your ass off, and don't test me." Anger seething against his teeth. He started to walk back to the normal trail leading to the school entrance, his day shattered by a few annoying people.
But the shatter only sparked an idea into a certain pink haired teen.
The bell rang, signaling the beginning of history class. They were currently learning about the American Revolution, and everyone seemed bored. Miss Midnight was giving a lecture of how the plan to take over the English, was mainly successful because of Alexander Hamilton.
Mina raised her hand almost instantaneously at the name of a great historical figure. But she had raised her hand for another reason than to fan girl her historical knowledge.
"What is is Mina?"
"Can we learn musical numbers from the musical? It is very educational and a hands on learning experience. We can sing while enacting scenes from it." Her case was quite compelling and Midnight did not have a reason not to. Mina had a Cheshire Cat grin painted on her face. She was determined to expose Katsuki's secret if it killed her, which it probably will.
"Then let's get to work on splitting into teams for singing and acting. I'll let you all decide that, while I print out some songs we can sing." And miss Midnight left the room and Iida stood up to lead the class.
"Now we should hold auditions to see who should sing or not, right? Or should we vote and see who should act and sing?" They held a poll on how to divide the class up, most of the class voted for voting. And so it began.
Iida started to write down all the names of the class, and every person would get to vote twice for who they want to sing. The counts go as follow:
Aoyama- 3
Mina- 1
Tsu- 2
Iida- 1
Uraraka- 4
Ojiro- 0
Denki- 0
Eijiro- 0
Koda- 3
Sato- 0
Shoji- 1
Jiro- 9
Sero- 0
Tokoyami- 0
Shoto- 0
Hagakure- 4
Katsuki- 6
Izuku- 3
Shoya- 1
Momo- 2
During the polling, when it rolled around to Katsuki's turn, six people with a death wish, raised their hands. Baffling the class. He glared at them all telling them silently 'put your damn hand down or I will explode it off.'
The class was confused as to why the explosive blond got the second most votes in the class, they were perplexed. They thought they had made a silent arrangement where he would be offstage most of the time, that way he couldn't blow up while trying to sing or act.
Miss Midnight came back into the classroom with sheets of paper with 3 songs on them: Burn, You'll Be Back, My Shot. Rehearsing and finding out who would do the solos was for the next class, right now it was lunch time.
Hello!
I'm trying out a soulmate universe. Feel free to comment what you like. Have a good day.
Explanation of the soulmate system thing. When ever someone sings, their soulmate has to sing at the same time the same song. They can control the volume though. When one soulmate is humming a tune, the other will hear the song in their head no matter what but they don't have to hum or sing. When you find your soulmate, you are drawn to sing more often.
Shout out to BisexualCricket for creating this soulmate AU. Not sure if they made it or not but I could not find it anywhere else.
And a special thank you to all my beloved followers.
