Family Day Pt. 5

TAEHYUN POV

Only one of my mothers had come today. I know she loves me, but I could see the pain in her eyes now when she looked at me. The mark on my wrist not making my mother any calmer. "You have news. I assume that is why you're keeping your distance, Mother."

She offered a small smile as she sat with me. "태형아, 틀리지 않았어요. 당신에게 전해줄 소식이 있어요, 아들아." (You are not wrong, Taehyun ah. I do have news for you, my son.) I sighed. "This news must be bad then..." She handed over a paper to me. It had a seal that I have never seen in a black color as dark as obsidian.

So I opened the letter. The ink written in what only I'd call sanguine red. Rad as dark as blood.

Dear Mothers of Kang Taehyun,

My name is Sim Haru. I am a dark sorceress Queen. I speak on behalf of my eternal love, husband, & King... Sim Do-Hwan. The son you've bathed & fed all these years is my blood. We'll even allow he keeps your name in honor of you loving him as your own. For he is our dark clan' true King. I'll allow him his fun at the academy, but I will request the young prince to come to Deathwood where his true family lives once his time at Neverland Academy ends...

Sorceress, Queen Sim Haru 심하루

I teared up as my worst fears were confirmed. I am the son of the vile dark mage who nearly destroyed the academy. "I am so sorry, Taehyun ah. It seems that you have claim to a throne you never wanted." I held back tears. I needed to be strong. "또 누가 알아요, 어머니? 심도환이 내 아버지라는 걸 아는 사람이 또 있을까요?" (Who else knows, Mother ? Who else knows that Sim Do-Hwan is my father ?) My mother grabbed my hand. "No one. I came here as soon as your mother & I got the news. You deserved to know, Taehyun."

"This mustn't be brought up again ever. I fear it will only cause me more grief..." My mother understood as she kissed my forehead with tears brimming her eyes. The bell sounded as I walked her to the door, the message crumpled in my hand away from sight.

"Get home safe, Mom. Please give Mother my love." She simply silently waved as she left. Then I rushed back up to the dorm.
