Prologue.
"Come on guys I think we need to explore the woods a little more," Yuta urges smelling the air. His desire for the woods yet again springs up as a topic. They spent the early hours of the morning walking on the boarder train trail tracks, engaging in conversation until the sun rose overhead. They all watched the scenery still light on conversation. It was clearly a relaxing day for the mischief boys. "Come on it's just for fun,"
Haechan nods his head getting up from the train tracks dusting his butt. "Let's get out of the sun for a while,"
Taeil lays down flatly on his back against the rocks and groans. "But I like this sun,"
"It'll still be there when we explore the woods," Yuta answers forcing Taeyong to stand up. When always trying to do something, he knew that his friends would only listen to Taeyong if Taeyong told them to do it. Taeyong is like a leader to them, they all followed him wherever he went unintentionally.
Thus Taeyong stands up straighter peering his eyes around to land on the tall oak wooden trees that stood tall and cramped together. He never found the woods interesting the way Yuta did, however since Yuta did the things that he liked it wouldn't kill them if they just for once went to explore the place Yuta was interested in and constantly nagging about.
"What do you wanna see in the woods anyway?" Taeil asks following Taeyong's movements. By instinct Taeil already knows that they were going to the woods once Taeyong stood up.
Yuta shrugs his shoulders beginning to walk just as Taeyong takes the lead towards the closed set of tall trees that looked so distant from the town but lively when set apart.
For a while now, they get by and past the numerous of trees loosing track of the sun as it slowly seats. With the scene beautiful and the parting clouds turning to a slight darkness intrigues the boys to go forward. Hoping to see-
"Werewolves don't exist." Taeil dead pans swinging by the trees as they get narrow. "Is it me or are these woods hiding something,"
"I got that feeling too," Haechan says. "It's getting harder to pass by,"
"Let's go a little bit further," Taeyong motions. Yuta is the first to react and moves ahead of Taeyong taking in the sight of all the trees. He had a belief that trees where once people who were cursed to being stuck the way they are. He liked to figure out their stories by running his fingers along the oak.
With jokes, songs and a little story telling the guys all lay down on the ground completely exhausted with the long walk. Taeyong takes out his phone being strung by the bright light. He dims the brightness and checks the time. "21:28."
He shuts his phone taking his time to lay his back against the tree and closing his eyes. The sounds of the low wind howling past the leaves and brunches of the tree created a cling of sounds that sounded peaceful.
"My mum wants me out the house from tomorrow." The silence allows for everyone to hear the words that leave Haechan's lips. The older guys turn their attention to the young one being confused. "She found the gun in my wardrobe. Blabbering about me not being her son anymore."
With the reason out in the air the older ones return to their nonchalant state. It was bound to happen anyway. They knew that since he still lived with his mum, they would be different rules set.
"You don't need her anyway," Taeyong says in a less sympathetic way with his eyes closed. "She did her part in birthing and raising you. It's time to let go."
"You can stay with me," Yuta offers out of generosity. He knew the struggles that Haechan had. Especially how his mother warned him about hanging out with the older guys but Haechan still chose the guys.
Haechan's eyes widen. "Really?"
"Of course. Come by tomorrow in the morning." Yuta nods his head.
"The sooner you leave, the more better." Taeil adds. "Which I think is the same for us. The sooner we leave the woods the better- what's that?"
He sits up turning around to the faint sight he saw in between the trees. He gets to his feet causally and hikes on the trampled ground until their are no more trees blocking the path but are instead all around the building that looked rundown, however still standing tall and straight.
"Guys check this out," Taeil announces.
With the new sight of the building they decide to all go inside for a while. They jump the high fence making their way in the building through one of the broken windows. The school only had one floor and seemed as if it was never finished being built.
"Another failing school system," Taeil chuckles as he switches on his flashlight going along the halls. "Let's go downstairs,"
They follow in a line being in wander about the school. Taeyong shakes his head. "They had time to build a perfect small little basement but had no time for a proper classroom?"
The basement looked lively, Taeil switches on the light that surprisingly worked. They looked around all the equipments and devices that were on the wall. Haechan makes his way to the side of the room finding a big box cover. He pulls it off, then instantly backs up by the sight of another human being.
"Shit!"
"What the hell?" Taeil squints his eyes. Right on the table was a naked woman. Only one of her hands was chained to the table and every other part was left exposed. "Is she dead?"
"I can take the blame for anything I've done but I'm not taking the blame for finding a dead person. Let's get out." Taeyong states to the point, not even looking back. "They might even blame me for killing her."
In a hurry they close the lights and head out the school in a pant as they begin running. Once they are out of the woods and far away from that school they exchange knowing glances, that they'll never talk about it again.
Present day...
At exactly 21:30, they find themselves in the same room with the naked woman. They couldn't help but come back to the school in wonder if that naked woman was there. To their surprise her eyes are open only staring at them.
"She's not dead."
