15: Facing the devil
Narrator POV
It was Sunday morning and the sunshine beamed through the drapes. Spring was coming, and soon it was time for graduation and a new chapter in life would begin.
Although, all of that was nothing of Haru's concerns.
She woke up early this morning, mind set on one thing. She was going home today.
Jimin was in deep sleep next to her and she took a few minutes of her morning to adore the sweet boy sleeping so peacefully next to her.
The girl got up and packed her bag. Next she went to grab some breakfast, while having an inner dialogue, practicing what to say to her mom.
She of course had to say sorry, but it was hard for her. Haru was aware she was not always in the right place and that she also was a part of this conflict between the two of them. But the way Haru's mom had turned on her so quickly after she got home from the tour, made it hard for the young girl to admit to her own mistakes. Because mostly, she felt like it was her mom's fault.
Before Haru grabbed her things and left the house, she sat on the bedside, stroking her Jimin's hair.
"Jimin, wake up." She whispered, wanting to inform her boyfriend about her leave.
Jimin slowly woke up, his eyelids heavy and cheeks puffy from the sleep.
"I'll go home now." She smiled at the boy, struggling to keep his eyes open.
"You are home?" He said and made her giggle, "I mean my real home Jimin."
He quickly, yet languidly sat up in the bed, eyes widening, "What??"
"I have to go home Jimin. I can't stay here forever." She spoke honestly.
He slumped back onto the headboard, pouting, "Why can't you?"
"Because I have parents who..." she hesitated for a moment, but continued, "parents who probably worry about me right now and want me home."
Jimin knew she was right, but he had enjoyed coming home to her in his bed everyday for the past week.
"And I just needed a break from my mom for a day or two. I've had that now, so I'm going home."
Saying that made the almost twenty year old girl feel more mature. She would be the bigger person and approach her mother first. It made her even more confident it was gonna work out.
"But I don't want you to go home~" Jimin said and pulled her down to lay next to him. She snuggled into him and under the sheet, gaining the last bit of confidence to face her mom. She knew Jimin would always be there for her.
"It's not like we're breaking up." She laughed, but the words left a slightly bitter taste in her mouth for a few seconds, before Jimin attacked her cheek with kisses.
"I will never let you go." He mumbled between the kisses, making her forget and just smile.
Getting off the bus with her two bags she couldn't be more ready.
Jimin had offered to go with her, but that would do nothing better.
Walking up to the front door, she felt optimistic.
It was her mom.
Yeah she had been strict for a while, but she knew how loving and great of a mother she also was, Haru thought as she stood in front of the door. The sunshine blinded the girl through the windows in the door while her stomach was bubbling with excitement. Even though she was still slightly bitter and wouldn't like to admit it, she had missed her mother very much.
Although...
Nothing ever goes as expected right?
Through the window in the door, she saw her mom on the bar stool, a wide smile on her face, laughing at something in the couch. Rather a person.
Her eyes moved to the couch, in which her father sat. He too was laughing.
That's weird, she thought.
Her father was never home in the weekends and she hadn't seen her father smile in a while. Why was he suddenly home?
Her parents didn't communicate that well. Why were they suddenly talking, laughing and enjoying each other's company?
What happened? What made her mom switch? She was such a great mom. Now, her child had been gone for a week and she was at home, relaxed and happy with her husband, who by the way never was home? What changed while she was gone?
The questions wouldn't stop flowing in Haru's mind, controlling and manipulating her emotions.
A weird feeling of hatred, pain and betrayal overwhelmed her.
Warm streams of tears ran down Haru's cheeks, watching her parents not even worrying about where or how their daughter was.
A needle prickled her heart. Discouragement took over her.
She had been so excited to see her mom, hugging her and assuring that her little girl was okay, that just seeing her smile, was enough to break down Haru's wall.
She's not ready, they clearly don't miss her at all, she thought.
She finally realized her soaked cheeks and wiped them. She looked down at the bags, she didn't notice she had dropped, and grabbed them and turned around again.
Angry, but mostly sad steps headed to the bus, back to the place she came from. The sun shined intensely, totally carefree and living on a perfect day, while hers was crashing down.
In that moment Haru decided. She was gonna find a job and some day rent her own apartment. That way, she wasn't bothering anyone anymore. To go back to someone who didn't care about her at all was definitely not an option.
Jungkook was practicing a dance choreography in the studio alone. All the members had a day off. Some of them went fishing, others to hang with friends and the rest just to relax, but Jungkook spent it at practice. It was the ideal "day off" for him, to do what he loved. The passionate boy wanted to perfect his steps before he was gonna record it and send it to his friend who choreographed it. Jungkook had perfectionist tendencies, but also a lot of talent, so perfecting the choreography wasn't difficult for him. It just took time, for most of the time, the boy didn't recognize his own talent.
Although, perfecting the steps wasn't the thing bothering him today.
The poor boy couldn't seem to get Haru out of his head. She saw him in the bathroom yesterday. Crying. He was embarrassed, but also deep down he wished she would've held him.
The regrets about hurting her also kept filling his head.
He was frustrated. Both with her, but also mostly himself.
Why couldn't she just leave him alone!? He thought.
The dreams.. why couldn't they just disappear!?
His moves got more intense and aggressive, as he got more angry. He didn't even notice it, but the emotions he felt, perfected the choreography.
All he could think of though, was her. The only thing he didn't want to think about, was the one filling his head all the time.
au.n.
Not to justify Haru's stupidity, cause yes she is a bit naive not even entering the house, but...
Haru is a very dramatic, emotional and innocent girl who had grown up with unconditional love from her mother. Also a distant father. Suddenly seeing her mother and father enjoying each other's company, took her aback. It made her feel like she was the one through all these years, causing her parents to grow more distant. In her head it also explained how her father didn't talk to her anymore, he was jealous of her and her mother's relationship. All this, adding the fact that Haru is just a naive girl and unexperienced in life's hardships, she lost it to the bitterness and turned around.
Anyways, sorry for the short chapter
And here's a picture of Jungkook's v line I found on twitter:
ikr🤤🤤🤤
