Pressing the can of whipped cream to her chest Harper felt the tears slid down her cheeks as she watched the scene before her with unblinking interest. Sitting cross legged on her couch Harper knew choosing this specific movie was a bad idea, she was what her brother Liam would call a wuss. Her twin often teased her about her emotional state during movies. It was rare that she could finish any romantic film without becoming a crying wreck by the end credits, hence the tissue box by her side.
"No..." She whispered feeling her heart break as the strange female approached the bed where her beloved laid awaiting her arrival. Lifting the wad of tissues in her left hand she wiped the new set of tears away needing the emotional relief after her short encounter with her father. It was strange even to her but a sad movie was therapeutic and sometimes stress relieving.
After Elena lectured her on the proper use of sage Harper drove back home where she was instructed to 'clean that stench off'. It took three showers and a small bottle of ketchup but the sage had finally been cleared off of her skin and hair. She didn't even want to think about what her father and the others thought when they got a whiff of her attempt at hiding Kiev's scent. The showers did nothing to lessen her frustration or anger over what happened earlier today with her father so after finishing up the last of her appointments she whipped out a sad movie and a bottle of whipped cream. Glancing down at the floor she winced at the small container of cookie dough ice cream and the now empty family sized box of brownies. Okay so it was more than just a can of whipped cream.
I'll work it off tomorrow, she thought with a shrug. Turning back towards the movie Harper felt the same gut wrenching pain as she fell back into the plot when an all to familiar body materialized beside the screen. Ignoring his presence Harper kept her eyes on the screen when Kiev walked directly in between her and the television. His gaze darted between the screen and Harper's tear filled expression, his brows pulling together in confusion.
"What ..."
Shushing Kiev she motioned for him to move away with her free hand. Much to her surprise he didn't argue or utter a word of protest as he slowly crossed the room. She felt the seat beside her dip as Kiev wedged himself directly at her side but didn't acknowledge his presence as the last few minutes of the romantic film played.
When the end credits started Harper released an uneven sigh and swiped at her eyes, emotionally drained by the movie and much more relaxed. Turning her body to face Kiev she couldn't help the smile that touched her lips upon spotting his puzzled expression. His brows knitted together causing a small crease to form beside his left brow, his full lips pursed as he examined the DVD on the coffee table.
"What?" She asked as she leaned her head against the cushion.
"I never took you as a romantic." He murmured as he met her gaze with a pinched expression.
"I'm not." She shrugged bringing the can up to her mouth. "I just needed a good cry." With that vague explanation she filled her mouth with the light cream.
As she lowered her hand she noticed his confused expression melt away as his eyes narrowed on her arm. His mouth set into a firm line as his eyes darkened with rage before they lifted to meet her gaze. Sliding forward Kiev wrapped his long fingers around her wrist and yanked her arm up.
"Who did this?"
Glancing down at the discolored fingerprints on her upper arm Harper felt the anger and embarrassment from earlier return full blast. Turning away from his seeking gaze Harper freed herself from his grip.
"It's not important." She mumbled as she switched the television off.
A cool hand cupped her chin and angled her face upwards. Gritting her teeth against the embarrassment she realized Kiev would continue hounding her until she gave up a name. Telling Kiev would mean suffering under his mocking gaze as she admits her failure as a daughter and huntress. She couldn't understand why she didn't want Kiev seeing her as a failure but it was inevitable.
Reluctant to do so Harper glanced up through wet lashes. "My father. He didn't like the way I was embarrassing him in front of his colleagues..."
The animalistic growl that echoed from Kiev shocked her into silence. Standing on his knees Kiev cupped her jaw with his warm hand as his coal like eyes scanned her body. "Did he hurt you anywhere else?"
Stunned by his concern for her well being Harper shook her head, enticed by his reaction to her bruises. This wasn't the reaction she expected, furthest thing from it actually.
The cool invisible hands glided over her arms and down her shoulders, the feather like touch retracting a shiver of delight as they skimmed across her back. "I'll kill him." Kiev hissed, his mouth beside ear as the hand on her jaw stroked her skin lightly.
"He's my father." She quickly defended. "I won't let you hurt him." She added as she turned to face him.
"He hurt you."
"So have you, you don't see me trying to kill you." She countered, watching tentatively as his features twisted from anger to guilt.
With a small nod he dropped his hand to his side, the cool touch of his extended hands pulled away as well. Leaning back into the couch Kiev didn't respond as he stared aimlessly at the dark screen as if the movie were still playing. A twinge of guilt had Harper gnawing on her bottom lip as she watched Kiev's body language and facial expression become more closed off.
Mimicking his actions she leaned back against the cushion and turned her body so she was facing his stiff form. Her eyes raked over his body, taking in his baby blue dress shirt tucked neatly into a pair of smooth black slacks. His dark long hair brushed backwards with the expectation of a few shorter strands that brushed against his smooth forehead. His strong jaw clenched tight, his mouth in a firm line as his eyes stared ahead, void of any emotion.
Propping her head on her arm she lifted the can of whipped cream up to her mouth, unsure of how to change topics. Opting for the easy way Harper filled her mouth with the airy cream before turning the can towards Kiev.
"Want some?"
He turned his head towards her, his eyes dipping over her body, lingering on her bare legs before they meet hers once more except they were different. His eyes took a soft green hue, the dark shade of soulless black slowly fading behind the vibrant green.
"No."
Ignoring the way her body perked at his stare just seconds ago Harper inched closer hoping to lighten the mood. "Oh come on, just a little." She pleaded playfully.
Without a word he turned his attention forward, completely ignoring her. Huffing Harper wondered if this was going to be a short visit because she couldn't handle the awkwardness if he remained here while ignoring her. Shifting in her seat she pondered on what to say to get him to speak to her when a red spot on his shirt caught her eye.
Closing the space between them Harper grabbed the edge of his collar and there it was, a set of two different shades of pink lipstick. Disgusted she pushed away from him and stood onto her feet.
"Asshôle!" She hissed and tossed the can of whipped cream at his chest.
Turning away from his stunned expression Harper stormed into her bedroom and slammed the door shut. Dropping on her bed she squeezed her eyes shut against the tears that threatened to escape. Frustrated with her unexpected reaction to seeing the lipstick Harper shook her head. What did she expect? That Kiev was being loyal to her? A voice sneered in her head at the stupidity of it all. She had no claim on him nor should she, this was a deal and if Kiev was getting some on the side it meant he wouldn't touch her. The idea should have delighted her but it did just the opposite. She didn't like the idea of Kiev laying with another woman, she didn't even consider the thought before this moment.
Two women, the voice in her head corrected.
Sighing Harper ran her hand over her face. Why was she angry he was with other women? She didn't want him touching her anyway, not after he attacked her a few days ago. She didn't trust him while she was vulnerable and being between her thighs as she experiences a taste of heaven would leave her extremely vulnerable. And if she was being honest with herself a part of her was scared of Kiev.
"I don't understand what happened."
Glancing up through tear filled eyes Harper saw Kiev standing before her, the can of whipped cream in hand. Gritting her teeth she had the urge to slap him but instead stood up and started unbuttoning his shirt. Wide eyed and confused Kiev allowed her to pull the shirt from beneath his pants, allowed her to unclasp the buttons on his wrists before yanking the shirt down his arms. With her nostrils flaring Harper grabbed the collar of his shirt and shoved it in his face.
His eyes settled on the lip stains on the fabric and realization dawned on him. "Really?" He asked in a deadpan voice that frustrated her.
Tossing the shirt aside Harper placed both hands on her hips to keep from strangling him. "You keep telling me no other man can touch me while you run around and fück other woman." She hissed angrily.
"That's because you're the victim of the deal not-"
Growling her frustration Harper slammed her closed fists against his chest. "I'm not a victim!"
Catching both fists in one hand he released a guttural sound of his own as he pulled her against his bare chest. "You're not that bright either if you think a incubus would be celibate."
His response wasn't what she wanted to hear. Struggling in his hold she fought back the tears as the anger within her boiled to the surface. She didn't want to seem weak in front of him, she didn't want to cry and certainly not about his lack of faithfulness to her. If she wasn't already crying she'd laugh at her own foolishness. Faithfulness?! He's a damn sëx demon! The word doesn't exists to his people.
A wave of heat flushed her cheeks as she took a figurative step back from the situation at hand. She was upset with her capture for not being loyal to only her, her capture who was her people's sworn enemy.
Her shoulders slumped as her anger and frustration faded away leaving only reality and her common sense. Sensing her change Kiev released her fists allowing Harper to take a few steps back.
"I feel stupid." She mumbled to herself as she lowered herself onto the bed.
A sigh sounded from above her but she didn't dare glance up, beyond embarrassed to meet Kiev's gaze after the dramatic scene she created. She kept her eyes glued on the carpeted ground even as she felt the bed dip beside her.
"I get my energy from sexual pleasure, my only source. If I don't feed, I'll die."
Nodding her understanding Harper leaned her elbows on her knees and cupped her face. She knew this, every child in the supernatural world knew this yet the knowledge did little to soothe the betrayal she felt. A faint smile tugged at her lips at the possibility that Kiev could ever be loyal to her. It just wasn't in his nature and she couldn't fault him for who he is no more than she could fault her father or brother. This was the world she left, the world where you get little to no choice to what you do or who you.
Sighing she turned her head so she was staring straight into those twin green orbs. Offering him a semi genuine smile she nodded once more. "I get it."
Running a hand through his smooth ebony strands Kiev released a sigh of his own before he bent down on one knee. With a soft look swimming in his eyes he placed two fingers under her chin and tilted her face to the side. Swallowing past the lump of tears in her throat Harper willed her smile to remain in place as Kiev inched forward.
"It bothers you to know another woman has had her legs around me, doesn't it?"
His words held no mocking tone or arrogance yet they caused the corners of her mouth to tremble with the effort to keep her mask in place. Not trusting her voice Harper gently shook her head no.
"I can't stop feeding but..." The pad of his thumb rubbing her upturned chin in small circles. "If you'd be willing to be my source of energy I won't go near any other female."
Her lips parted in response to his proposal, her eyes searching his face for any indication he was teasing but found none. All that stared back at her was a genuine offer even as she met his tender gaze.
"I'd come to you when I need a boost in energy, healing. Only you." He said as he slid his thumb across her jaw. "What do you say?"
Blinking away her response Harper couldn't deny that his proposal definitely caught her attention, scratch that he had her full attention. She couldn't bury her true feelings and refuse his offer, that would be the huntress way. But as she stared into his tender gaze Harper found all reasons against being with Kiev disappearing from her mind. Her run in with her father opened her eyes to how this deal would end for her.
If the leaders discover your deal they'll be no mercy.
Elena's words echoed in her head like bells, chiming over and over again. Whether Harper fought off Kiev or not the leaders and her father would only see her as a traitor. They would hear her side or care to, so why was she fighting him? Fighting this attraction? It would end the same for her, in death.
Taking in a deep breath Harper knew she was at a crossroads, which ever decision she made she would have to be content with the after effects. She never had much of a choice when she became a huntress or when she signed the deal but now, in this moment she had a choice.
Lifting her chin Harper stared at the man kneeling in front of her, the uncertainty written on his face, the hopefulness glowing in his emerald orbs beckoning her to cross over the line, to him. With a final calming breath Harper placed her hand over his and lowered it from her jaw.
Watching his reaction closely she stood off the bed as he stood to his feet. The muscles in his jaw clenched as she wrapped her slender fingers around his wrists and with no words Harper slowly turned their bodies so he was now beside the bed.
A rush of emotions slammed into her as she linked her fingers with his. Doubt filled her mind but her heart unswayed by the voices that protested against this.
"I have one condition." She whispered, unable to raise her voice in the fear of anyone hearing her other than Kiev.
He squeezed her fingers and took a step forward. "Name it." He replied breathlessly, his head lowering slowly.
"When we are together the outside world doesn't exist. We aren't demon and huntress, we are just man and woman. No games, no tricks and no contracts."
Even as the words left her lips Harper wondered if that was even possible. Could they escape their world for even a few hours together? She knew it was a long shot but with nothing but death in her future what did she truly have to lose?
"Only us?" He asked, his full lips brushing her jaw in a teasing manner.
Nodding she tilted her head, her lips inches below his seeking mouth. "Only us." She repeated his words in a hushed whisper.
"I can handle that but can you handle me?" He teased as his lips hovered just above hers.
Releasing his fingers Harper stood on the tip of her toes and pecked his lips, smiling when he growled as she pulled away. Her hands slid across the front of his slacks, her fingers grazing the bulge that remained beneath the fabric. Sparing a look at his lustful gaze Harper slowly unbuckled his belt, her fingers popping the top button open and ever so gently rolled the zipper down until his erect member sprang free.
Wrapping her fingers around his erect cöck Harper glanced up through hooded eyes and without hesitation she pumped his swollen shaft. Kiev's uneven breath fanned her face, his fingers digging into her hips through the flimsy fabric of her shorts. His hips jerking forward when her fingers tightened around his member. Biting back a snark remark Harper tilted her chin up, her eyes searching for those vibrant green ones and she wasn't disappointed. The heavy cloud of desire loomed around the small bit of green in his eyes as a deep burgundy red rushed forward.
Leaning forward Harper quickened her strokes all the while her hand tightening around him as her thumb traced the small slit on the head of his cöck. The small drop of moisture she felt had a smile tugging at her lips even as she stood on the tips of her toes.
"Oh I can handle you, no problem." She whispered before slanting her mouth over his and ran her tongue over his in a teasing manner. Kiev reacted immediately, his mouth rushing to meet her every movement when she pulled away, her teeth catching his bottom lip and pulling gently at the soft skin.
With a triumphant grin Harper dropped her hand from his throbbing cöck and took a step back to enjoy her work. Her hungry gaze ran over his toned bronze skin, gliding over every inch and curve before resting on his stiff rod. A rush of need flushed over her as she watched the vein running alongside his cöck throbbing the longer her eyes remained on it. That same need is what had her pressing both hands flat on his chest and without a second thought she shoved him backwards. His body bounced a couple times on the mattress before settling on the now crumpled sheets, the look of confusion clear on his face.
Sinking her teeth into her bottom lip she gripped the hem of her T-shirt and pulled the thin fabric over her head. A strange wave of excitement filled her body from her head down to her toes as she yanked her booty shorts down her legs and with as much grace as she could muster she stepped out of the short shorts. Standing in only her bra Harper met Kiev's hazy gaze and felt as if she were standing beneath a scientists microscope, his dark gaze slowly gliding across her bare, flushed skin.
She felt like a freshly fücked virgin as she unclasped her bra and tossed the spotted item aside. Butterflies filled her stomach as she took a step forward, her heart hampering wildly in her chest as if this was the first time Kiev and her were going to fück. In a way it was. This was the first time they would join together not because of a deal or for healing. Kiev wasn't forcing her to humiliate her and she wasn't trying to forget who the man was that was laying in front of her.
Stepping between his open legs Harper slid his slacks completely off and kicked the pants aside. Taking a calming breath she placed both hands on his chest, her left palm settling over his rapidly beating heart and with slow, sultry movements she started crawling up the length of his toned body.
"Do we have a deal?" Harper asked as she sat on his lap completely in the nude.
His Adam's apple bobbled as he swallowed hard, his lips parting as his gaze traveled down to where her moist entrance lined up with the tip of his erect tip. A surge of power flooded through her as she watched Kiev, heir to the throne, powerful séx demon lay beneath her speechless as she teased him.
Nodding he slid his hands over her hips and gripped her ass with both hands, his nails biting in to her skin as he attempted to connect their bodies. "Deal." He said in a hoarse voice she didn't recognize.
"Remember no other women can touch you." Harper chided with a teasing smile on her lips.
Groaning Kiev jerked his hips up forcing the tip of his throbbing member to nestle inside her wet folds but no more than the tip. Pressing herself against his stiff member Harper reminded herself to remain logic during this fling. Leaning her face forward she brushed her lips across his broad chest, her
teeth grazing the sun kissed skin.
She felt him shudder as she lifted her mouth, heard his sharp intake of breath as she reached a single hand between them and gripped his throbbing length.
"I'm going to fück you senseless..." He groaned as her fingers traced his heavy sacs teasingly.
She laughed, her gaze on his smile face despite his genuine discomfort. The playful smile seeming foreign to her as she tried and failed to find any malice in his tone or features.
"I'm counting on it."
Guiding his member inside her wet core Harper couldn't help the soft mewl of pleasure that passed her lips as he entered her inch by sweet inch. Kiev's fingers dug deeper into her skin as he squeezed his eyes shut, a guttural incoherent noise tumbling from his gaped mouth.
Placing both palms on his chest Harper began rocking her hips in a slow and sultry rhythm as she lowered her face to his. Sensing her above him Kiev opened his eyes and offered her a crooked smile that sent her heart beating wildly.
Slanting her mouth over his she whispered against his lips. "You better not break my heart." She warned and before he could respond she captured his lips in a sizzling kiss.
***********
^_^ hey my lovely readers!!! What are we thinking about Harper's decision? And if Kiev genuinely means to keep his end? Things are definitely changing for these two but so are the people around them ^_~
