jaemin pulled his house keys out of his pocket, sliding it in the door lock before opening the door.
today had been a long day.
no donghyuck.
mina being clingy.
her pointing out the 'crazy' resemblance of his and NA's names.
and still no donghyuck.
but it seemed like it wouldn't last for long.
"donghyuck?" jaemin asked opening the front door to see the demon sitting at the dining table.
"hey..." the demon gave a shy smile to the human.
"is everything alright?" jaemin asked, closing the door behind his back as he took his jacket off.
"i... wanted us to talk..." donghyuck said.
jaemin's heartbeat started accelerating in his chest as he made his way to the chair in front of donghyuck.
he sat down, his eyes never leaving those of the demon.
"are you sure everything's alright?" jaemin asked again worriedly.
the demon in front of him was weird.
he seemed to be sad.
or at least troubled.
jaemin hated that. he wanted to see him smile. he wanted to be a victim of his teasing.
just like the old times...
"yeah..." donghyuck nodded, but his answer didn't convince jaemin.
nevertheless, he stopped asking this question.
"what do you want us to talk about?" jaemin questioned, smiling at the demon to encourage him.
the atmosphere was awkward.
both boys could feel it.
"i'm sorry for what i've done." donghyuck said.
"w-what?" jaemin stuttered. "what are you sorry for?"
"kissing you." donghyuck stated. "i got past my boundaries. i know you like mina and everything, and i shouldn't have done that. for my defense, i didn't know that it would prevent you from killing me, but anyway... i shouldn't have done that knowing your feelings for the other girl."
"huh... no, actually- "
"that's why i want to make a deal." donghyuck cut jaemin.
"but- "
"do you want to listen to my deal, jaemin?"
the human hadn't much choice.
"yes."
"so." donghyuck clapped his hands. "let's forget everything that happened. we erase it from our memories. and we act like we used to. no more worries, no more awkwardness. so, deal?"
jaemin waited a few seconds to answer, his eyes staring at the two red orbs of the demon.
"deal." he declared, shaking the hand that the demon was holding out.

a few days had passed since their deal.
and thankfully, their relationship had gotten better, just like the good old times.
donghyuck had promised to stay with jaemin as much as he could to protect him and prevent him from causing troubles with his second personality.
jaemin was completely fine with it since it meant that they would spend more time with the demon he had taken a liking for.
that's why donghyuck was at school with him today.
on the one hand, donghyuck was glad to be with his human, and that they were back to normal.
but on the other hand, he felt heartbroken seeing jaemin with mina at school.
and added to this not-so-cool fact, mark was there to bother him.
"demoniac demon is back to school." mark stated, seeing donghyuck entering the classroom behind jaemin.
"i seriously wished you wouldn't be here, angelic angel." donghyuck rolled his eyes, taking a sit on the table behind jaemin's chair as the two humans were already conversing.
"too bad sweetheart." mark smirked, making donghyuck fake a gag. "you'll have to see this pretty face all day if you stay here."
"pretty my ass." donghyuck snorted. "no one is as pretty as him anyway."
"him?" mark raised a brow.
"jaemin."
"oh..." mark's smirk widened. "you still have your emotional problems..."
"yeah, and having you bothering me doesn't help much."
and so, the two supernatural being kept bickering behind their two humans.
on their side, jaemin and mina chatted about the history exercise they had done the day before and finished at home.
mina kept flashing smiles at jaemin, claiming that his ideas were the best and would be worth a 20/20.
their teacher soon entered the room, making jaemin and mina stop talking to listen to their teacher.
however, jaemin got distracted by the two supernatural's speaking behind him. well, donghyuck's speaking since he couldn't hear nor see mina's angel.
jaemin concentrated on donghyuck's words, not paying attention to whatever the teacher was saying.
"stop calling me sweetheart."
"no, i'm not interested in you."
"stop flirting for fuck's sake..."
"plus, your pick-up lines are so lame..."
jaemin felt his jaw clenching at what donghyuck was saying.
if he understood everything well, mina's angel was bothering his demon.
and more than bothering him, he was flirting with him.
jaemin hated that.
he felt selfish telling himself this, but he wanted nobody to flirt with his demon.
donghuck was his.
"mina?" jaemin spoke, catching the attention of the girl.
"yes?" she asked with her infamous smile.
"tell your angel to stop flirting with my demon." he said, sounding meaner than he expected.
the girl's eyes widened in surprise before she turned around, surely looking at her angel.
"mark?! you're flirting?!"
she waited a few seconds before furrowing her brows.
"have you heard what jaemin said?" she asked. "he said that he wanted you to stop flirting with his demon. so, please stop."
behind jaemin, donghyuck's cheeks coloured crimson red at the idea of jaemin asking mina to tell mark to stop flirting with him.
jaemin's possessiveness was showing, and it made donghyuck feel weak in the knee.
jaemin and mina got back to listening to their teacher, a proud smile appearing on jaemin's face as he didn't hear donghyuck complaining anymore.
their classes went on peacefully.
however, around 10:00a.m., someone knocked on the classroom's door.
it was a supervisor, asking for the teacher to come with him.
the teacher did as he was told, entering the classroom less than a minute after.
"well." he coughed. "apparently, there is a national 'breaking news' announced in a few minutes, and the dean wants all of us to watch it, so... here we go i guess."
the students furrowed their brows, watching their teacher switching the classroom's tv on as they whispered behind his back.
"there!" the teacher exclaimed once he had managed to switch the tv on. "now, let's find the good channel."
he did in a few seconds, telling one of the students to switch the lights off as he took a seat on his chair behind the teacher's desk.
"korea breaking news!" a voice said as the tv showed korea's flag with the words 'beaking news' written in bold capital letters.
"good morning dear korean citizens. today is a big day for us all, and mostly inhabitants of seoul..."
jaemin rolled his eyes at the journalist that was talking nonsense.
the image of the journalist soon changed, now showing the insides of an hospital, and more particularly, the hospital room of a man.
jaemin didn't pay much attention to it as it didn't seem to be a so important news.
"jaemin..." donghyuck whispered next to his ear, making the boy jump on his seat.
"what?" he asked.
"i-isn't that the man you almost killed...?"
jaemin concentrated on the tv again, his eyes widening immediately.
donghyuck was right.
that was the man NA had tried to kill the other day, in the gallery.
jaemin connected the dots pretty quickly.
"sir?" he asked, raising his hand in the air. "can i go to the bathroom please?"
"you'll go after the announcement jaemin."
shit.
jaemin turned around, looking at donghyuck with worried eyes.
a small part of his head was hoping that what was about to be announced had nothing to do with him.
but let's be real, there was a big chance that those breaking news were about him.
"mr kim here has been the first victim that serial killer NA didn't kill. and so, he has very interesting things to tell us." the journalist declared as the camera filmed the man. "what can you tell us about the killer?"
"he's not someone you would expect to be a killer. he's a teenager. i heard his name. na jaemin."
