Kim K
There we go. Another selfie. Another debate. Another internet storm.
Why do we always create so much hype with every single thing the Kardashian+Jenner clan does?
There's so much frenzy about them all the time. Why?
The most recent one: Kim's nude.
What is the thing with it? It's her body, her choice. Why are we being so judgemental? Let her do what she wants. If you have so much of problems with it then ignore it. Don't think about it, don't talk about it.
It probably wasn't right, she probably wasn't giving out the right message to young ladies, but she didn't do it to become a role model right? She feels comfortable in her body and isn't afraid to show it, then let her! We are no one to command her life and choices.
In fact, in a way she did inspire people to be strong enough and follow their will. And also fight back when someone attacks you for your choices. Your choices might not make sense to a lot of people out there, but if it does to you, stand your ground and defend it till everyone either understands or just lets you be. We need not to learn how to take selfies- or nude selfies- from her. There are a lot things and qualities to be learnt and get inspired from in every person. With standing up for herself, Kim taught not only to be self empowered but also to help ownself.
At one side, we talk about women empowerment and how we women aren't free to express our views, and on the other side, when another women does something, we women ourselves start humiliating and degrading her. How can one expect women empowerment to happen with such conduct?
Miley did #freethenipple movement but it wasn't criticised much. Why? Because it was for a cause. Do we always need a cause to do something which the society generally isn't used to? If a girl goes bald for a good cause, let's say to donate hair for cancer patients' wigs, she'll be hailed by the world. But if she goes bald just because she simply wants to, we wouldn't take a minute to start judging and laughing at her. Why this hypocrisy guys?
And let's accept it, we all have, sometime or the other, drooled over shirtless men, haven't we? Be them celebs or some random guy at the beach. When men go shirtless, they're "dudes", but when a women does that, it becomes a "nude"? (Yes I stole that from an Indian TV ad)
Why the double standards?
And whatever, at the end of the day, what happened? Kim has already uploaded it, even deleting it isn't going to create much change. The main thing is done- creating a buzz. It doesn't matter if you supported Kim or her criticisers on this one, she got her publicity- as usual. As usual, how the brood always gets.
