Chapter Six

The water hit him hard, without thinking he connected to the air element and hit back as hard as he was being hit.

His feet rooted firmly on the ground, his arms stretched out in front of him. "Oh no you won't," he muttered to himself.

The two elements collided with great force making him lose his footing for a second. A wall of water kept rising to the sky. A massive mountain of water kept accumulating in front of him, he wasn't sure how long he could keep the water out of the compound; he needed to divert it somehow.

Should he throw it towards the cloudsoldiers squad flying towards them?

Should he divert it around the barracks?

No.

The cloudsoldiers were getting ready for the attack but needed more time; he saw them from the corner of his eye. As he held the wall of water in place, he looked around the compound Christopher was sure about what his next move was going to be.

Christopher started with the west side to hold off the squad that was approaching.

He carefully moved part of the water wall to the west making sure that no holes existed in his barrier. Then with his other hand, he moved the water all the way around and created a water dome around them.

Adrenaline was rushing through his veins which kept the fatigue at bay. He wasn't sure how long he could keep the dome up.

"How long do you need?" he shouted at his comrades.

"A few more minutes," a weary looking guy answered him.

After five minutes had passed and he could feel the tingling ache in his muscles. The water was coming harder at them he could feel the increase in the power thrown at him.

"How long?" He shouted.

"Now! Drop the dome now!"

Christopher dropped the dome around them and just focused on diverting the water everywhere but the barracks. Cloudsoldiers were rushing at each other in the sky above him. A few moments later he saw a squad of his barracks make a sneak attack at the 'enemy' from behind.

In a matter of half an hour after he had dropped the dome all the 'enemy' soldiers were detained by the east barracks company. The water had now stopped coming.

"Fire!" someone cried out.

Christopher immediately turned around looking for the source of the trouble. He spotted it at the north side of the camp.

Fireballs were coming right at them. The first fire ball landed outside the walls of the barrack. The second crashed the wall. Two more fireballs were airborne and fast approaching. Gathering up his strengths he aimed at one of the fireballs and blew it out with a gasp of air.

He was knocked down as the second fireball landed a few feet from him.

He shakenly got up on his feet and started counter as many fire balls as could.

He wasn't fast enough. He closed his eyes and tried to use his mind rather than using his hands to fend off the attack. He was getting better; he was now able to counter three and four fireballs at a time. Cloudsoldiers were trying to put out the fires around the compound while Christopher was fighting.

The fireball attack wouldn't stop, they just kept coming.

If he didn't do anything about this, it would go on forever. He focused his mind and as he kept of the attack he searched for his attackers in the forest. He came up empty.

He then scoured the skies. He found them; five magisters synchronized in their assault movements towards them.

Christopher knew what he had to do. He didn't like it but he had to, he didn't know long he could keep preventing their attacks.

With a determined face, he guided a forceful current of air that took them out.

Everything went black as he gracelessly collapsed on a tent below him.
