Chapter Seven
Christopher opened his eyes. He saw nothing but darkness. He squinted his eyes trying to focus his sight to his surroundings; pitch black. He tried to get up on his feet, wrong move. Sharp pain pierced through his body that had him on his back trying to bite the pain away.
He tried to move his head but the pain surged through him once more. He closed his eyes and sensed his surroundings. It was a small room, not his room. There was an enormous steel door and outside three guards held watch.
'They got me 'he thought. He searched through the corridor and the other rooms for his comrades. He managed to locate none.
Was he the only one in prison?
Was he still in Silyn?
At that moment, he sensed two cloudsoldiers entering the prison. A female and a male. The female had a familiar feel to her. He tried focusing on her features but could not understand why she felt so familiar.
The pair strode determinately towards the guards. No words were spoken between them. He had decided to wait it out a bit longer he had better chances against three than five. After a few minutes passed the newly arrived pair remained outside his prison door.
He tried to stand on his feet but the pain was crippling him. Maister had taught him the healing spell but he was not very good at it, at least the two times he had tried the spell. Would he dare cast it now? Without supervision? He contemplated it, what if turned into a rat or a fly?
He did not dare try to move again; he took a nasty fall in the battlefield. He tried to remember why he lost his powers but everything was blank. He tried to remember the spell exactly after some time had passed he was as sure as he was going to be about the spell.
"Please don't let me turn into a bumblebee," he mumbled to himself and cast the spell. When he finished he patted himself down, he was still Christopher the cloudsoldier-mage.
He took the door down and charged out of his prison cell.
It was she! It was Lily. He was in Silyn, a sigh of relief escaped him as the realization hit him.
Her eyes locked with his and a second later, he felt the air knocked out of his lungs. He landed roughly on the wall behind him.
"What was that?" he spat at her.
"That was nothing," Lily told him annunciating every single word slowly as she took her fighting position.
"I don't want to hurt you Lily," he hissed.
"If I were you I would worry less about me and more about yourself, young one," she warned him as she took a step to her right and with a smooth move she had him flat on his back and punched him hard in his ribs.
Christopher was doubled over; he felt his ribs crack as soon as her fist forcefully pierced through. He bit down the pain and got up on his feet.
"I will ask you one more time, what the fuck are you doing?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," she replied ironically.
His eyes almost popped out in realization, the mock war was still on. He called the air element; it didn't work. A smirk spread through Lily's face as she eyed him. She moved faster than him and crashed him on the left wall with a roundhouse kick.
Christopher was seeing red. He could feel his blood boiling in his veins. He was taught never to hit a lady. She was not a lady right now in his eyes. She was the enemy. He took his battle position and charged.
