---- II. Relationships

This was a chapter I was working on for a long while, but since I am leaving Wattpad-RP, I figure I should just publish the incomplete version. Thanks to all who have supported Silverwings' character throughout the past couple years. ♥

Silverwings is the dragon of Garnet [© @GarnetWolf]— She respects her closest companion for her graciousness, selflessness, and thoughtfulness; in fact, even for several months before establishing their eventual titles of dragon and rider, Silverwings and Garnet were inseparable, spending much of their time together. Their friendship, likewise, has become near-impossible to rival, and their trust for one another is true. This makes the two protecting, supporting, and caring for each other at an incomprehensible level—their interactions alone are an undeniable proof of this fact: Garnet, alas, is not the first rider of Silverwings, but she is the first to receive the dragon's mark, as well as her fullest deference and love. Silverwings and Garnet have underwent two marking procedures. The first, a smoother "test of the waters," drew their powers of dark and light into one another, resulting in an impenetrable mind-link, an unbreakable connection, and a mutual mark—the dragon's, the familiar black and white hexagram symbol in the center of her left shoulder, and the rider's, the same, but in a unique black and gold coloration on her right shoulder. This mark defines the two in their relationship with one another, as well as in their relationship with seven entities of higher power. However, Silverwings and Garnet have strengthened their bond even further with a second marking procedure. This ancient ritual, dating back to the earliest of times and requiring the ultimate dedication between an aspiring dragon and rider, binds the two together on an intimate level, combining them in pain-sharing plasma, life-sharing heart, and death-sharing strands: these three "sharings" are in a literal sense, making Silverwings and Garnet a genuine part of one another in the most enduring friendship that can exist and endowing the two with a companion through both life and death alike. [I will not give further information about Garnet's character since I am not her original creator— Take questions to the profile of her admin, @GarnetWolf, though I cannot promise their answering.]

This admirable dragon, who would become Silverwings' father and favorite mentor, was born without a given name— This practice, which has since been forgotten, was a common one of the archaic creature's culture: parenting dragons of the tradition, rather than choosing a name for their hatchlings, would raise them to become illustrious dragons worth mankind's titling. It was distinguishable for a dragon's self-respect, self-confidence, self-satisfaction, and self-worth to receive a suiting name, and hence, this particular male wrought for it. Compensation for his efforts came in time. The whooshing flap of his powerful silver wings, bringing forth storms of gushing gales, became a notorious icon across the dragon's small, but native region, and several soldiers sought to slaughter the beast at the heart of the turmoil: Ventus Aeterno ["Wind Eternal"]. Despite having remarkable perserverance, though, none of these men's attempts in taking down the storm-bringing monster were of success; the dragon's resulting egotism—one of a strong and surviving pride—became unconquerable. In fact, this pride, larger than that of other dragons, left Ventus in a depressive imbalance until he fell in love with his to-be mate, Ileana, who brought modesty and chastity back into his heart. Silverwings' small size, along with most of her proportions, compositions, and colors, came from her father's; Ventus is a few inches short of 10 feet in height, with both a length and wingspan doubling the measurement. Dazzling silver scales, small and smooth in texture, cover his lean and flexible figure, alongside matching crest and tail webs, wings, horns, and claws—all of which are of an adaptation for better maneuvering and rushing during flight. Ventus also possesses bright silver eyes with an impressive depth-perception; having no elemental powers, the dragon's reliance in offensive battle is on this effective sight, as well as his powerful flight.

The brand-new mates—aspiring parents Ventus Aeterno and Ileana "Aurascales"—were soon sustaining a clutch of three eggs. The hatchlings' sentimental mother bore their eggs with a humanlike ambition to choose names for them; this desire underwent approval from her mate, and thus, each of Ventus and Ileana's children was given both a human and dragon name—Kareia Aurawings, Sarisha Silverwings, and Bethannie Violetpaw, in respective order of their hatching. However, the oldest remains the exclusive weredragon among her siblings, able to shift, like her mother, between a dragon and human form. Kareia Aurawings is her suiting name, having her mother's framework and nonflammable ebon scales—or ebon hair and pale skin, in human form—along with a captivating combination of her father's charming crest and her mother's wide wings, both of orange, purple, and pink colors, refracting the light like a lustrous sunset. Kareia's talons and wing spikes, similar to her mother's, are sickle-like, charcoal black hooks, and her eyes, also like her mother's, are an intense amber color in both forms. || [incomplete description]
