As Aragorn watched his friend laying there on the ground, staring shocked at the orc, he shouted out for him.
The man tried to run and kill the orc before anything happened to the elf, but it was to late.
The orc just broke Legolas' arm by stepping on it.
It was a loud and terrifying crack that broke the silence.
Aragorn felt rage taking over his body, he ran towards the orc, stabbing him at least 20 times, before letting go of him to kneel besides Legolas. Gimli killed the troll alone, not really noticing that the elf was injured.
Aragorn picked up Legolas, silently thanking the elven body physics for being so light.
"Gimli! We have to get to Mirkwood as quick as possible! Legolas is injured!"
He informed the dwarf. Aragorn could swear he saw a concerned expression on his face.
The last thing Legolas felt, was a horrible pain in his right arm.
His arm, wich he mostly used for everything.
He didn't know what happened next, since he was passed out.
He just knew the enemies were dead.
Aragorn insisted on going to Mirkwood without a pause, wanting to arrive as soon as possible. The only thing he could help Legolas with, was bandaging his arm.
He knew that the elves could help him much better than Aragorn himself.
As they finally arrived, being really really tired from their journey, the guards obviously recognised their prince, immediately bringing him to the healing rooms.
Aragorn wanted to follow them, but was stopped by a guard, who brought him to Thranduil.
As Aragorn walked into the hall where the Mirkwood king was waiting for him, he couldn't help but feel a little anxious, thinking about the things Legolas' father would do to the person who couldn't protect his beloved and only son.
He eventually arrived, letting the guards open the door and slowly stepping in, gulping.
"Elessar."
He heard the cold voice in front of him.
Being called by the elvish name gave him shiver.
He bowed slightly, with his head lowered.
"Care to explain what in the Valar happened to my son?"
The king spoke in a loud voice, not leaving a hint of anger unnoticeable.
"There were a few orcs and two trolls attacking us. Legolas got kicked to the ground and was stepped on by an orc who pretended to be dead. He was caught by surprise.."
Aragorn explained, not risking to look at him.
Thranduil only nodded, looking out of the window.
"He will be okay."
Aragorn said. Not knowing if he told that himself or Legolas' father.
"Of course he will. He is my son."
Thranduil answered, causing Aragorn to smile a little at the proudness in the king's voice.
But he couldn't smile for a long time.
Aragorn was worn out.
He was tired, his legs were hurting from walking without a pause.
His whole body practically begged him to go to sleep.
Thranduil noticed, adverting his gaze to the man.
"Go and rest for a while Elessar. The guards will show you a room."
Aragorn nodded, quickly bowing before leaving the hall. There was Gimli, waiting for him because they both decided that it would be smarter for him to not go with Aragorn. The guards led them both to a room for themselves, where a soft bed was awaiting them.
Aragorn allowed himself to sink down in the white pillows, immediately falling asleep.
As the morning arrived, Aragorn and Gimli met to get breakfast together, talking about what they would do now.
Gimli assumed that Legolas needed time to heal, so he would leave for a bit, wanting to visit his hometown. Aragorn nodded, thinking about going to Rivendell again.
But he couldn't leave Legolas alone with what he was going through.
Maybe one day, he could finally help.
They both decided to visit Legolas.
Gimli also wanted so say goodbye to his friend.
Legolas was already awake, sitting in the hospital bed, a small smile spread across his lips as he saw his friends entering the room.
Aragorn sat down next to the bed, returning the smile. Gimli stood next to the bed, carefully placing his hand on Legolas' shoulder.
"I'm here to say goodbye my friend. I want to visit my home for a while. I'll leave tomorrow morning."
"What a shame..i wanted to introduce you to my father"
ÜLegolas said, his soft smile turning into a grin.
"Oh i can already feel it in my beard that this pretty elf won't stand me for sure."
The dwarf muttered, rolling his eyes.
The night arrived and Aragorn lay in his bed, not being able to go to sleep. He sighed and looked out of the window, thinking about Legolas.
Elves are healing faster than others, Aragorn knew that, but he still was really worried.
*What if he couldn't heal himself this time? Maybe he was weakened because of the heartbreak he's going through.. *
Aragorn had to check up on his friend. He was worried sick now and he imagined the worst things that could happen to Legolas right now. He stood up, quickly dressing himself and snuck out of the room. As he finally arrived at the healing rooms, he looked for Legolas, but he wasn't in his bed. Aragorn felt panic rising up in him. Then he felt a soft and light hand on his shoulder. The brown haired flinched and quickly turned around, to see Legolas in front of him.
Legolas smiled at him.
"Missed me?"
Aragorn grinned and rolled his eyes.
"Of course" Legolas chuckled slightly.
The elf realised he still had his hand on Aragorns shoulder and quickly pulled it back.
Aragorn took a step closer, since there was a rather wide gap between them now. Legolas took a step back and immediately broke the eye contact. "Why are you avoiding me Legolas?" Aragorn asked, his voice having sadness in it.
Legolas sighed.
How would Aragorn react if he really told him now? What if he would hug the elf, telling him it's okay and comfort him?
Or maybe be would even kiss him, maybe he would tell him that he always had loved Legolas too. But what if he just looked at him in disgust? What if he never wanted to speak to Legolas again? What if he never wanted so see him again?
No. Legolas couldn't tell him.
He would rather die than being hated by Aragorn. Actually, he would surely die. In fact, he was dying slowly right in the moment. And he suffered.
"I don't know"
Aragorn sighed, taking one step closer again, causing Legolas to step back once again.
"Did I do something wrong?"
The slightly bigger one asked. The other quickly shook his head.
"Then what happened? Tell me Legolas. Please"
Legolas felt tears building up inside of him, but he swallowed them down, not wanting to seem weak in front of Aragorn.
He bit the corner of his lips and stared out of the window like he would escape through it any moment. Aragorn noticed it and grabbed him softly by the arm.
"Legolas."
Legolas wanted to free himself, but Aragorn just Strengthened his grip. Unfortunately he couldn't really hold onto Legolas this way so he just pinned him softly against the wall.
"Tell me now."
Legolas felt the blush appearing on his cheeks and he now stared at Aragorn.
"No"
"Please Legolas..I just want to help you.."
Then they both heard the door open.
