Russell Kilpatrick stares at the masked figure standing at his door and he freezes, fear washing over him but he still tries to keep him voice even as he answers.

"Q-questions? What questions?"

"What can you tell me about Emerson Prescott and Connie Prescott?" Silver Hitter folds his arms over his chest, somehow the stance is ten times more intimidating and he hasn't taken a step forward.

"I'm sorry but that's-"

"If you say client confidentiality, then I'm putting a gun in your mouth and shooting your brains out."

"I..I can't say anything about that matter-"

"Just because you worded it differently, it doesn't mean that you didn't say what I warned you not to say." Hitter now takes a step forward and the lawyer takes a few rushed steps away from him.

"They've been my clients for the past four decades okay? I'm handling Connie's will right now which I helped her arrange when she found out that she was dying."

"What killed her?"

"Cancer."

"Sad...tell me about James Davenport and why she's in the will."

Kilpatrick lowers his head, then looks back up as though all the breath has been knocked out of him. "Connie wanted to leave her daughter what she couldn't give her while she was still alive."

"Daughter?"

"Yes, daughter. James Davenport...what do you know about that? I've been in search of her with no way to get into contact but if you know-"

"Nothing." Turning, Hitter makes his way back through the door he came and makes his way to the emergency stairway, rushing down them while texting his sister.

Jamie is Connie's daughter. Well, after Yasmine of course. So biologically.

Crow: Holy crap!!! We have to tell her before this lawyer guy can get to Jamie. We don't know if they know the bios.

Yeah I know. Tomorrow.

The next day, Wolf and Crow make their way into Yasmine's home, letting themselves in with their keys before running upstairs and knocking on her office door, pushing it open and Yasmine looks up at them, surprise crossing her features before she gives a wide smile.

"Bird, Fur Ball." She stands and pulls Crow into a hug, giving Wolf's shoulder a squeeze which he pulls her hand in his and gives it a light kiss. "What a lovely surprise. My my. To what do I owe this surprise?"

"Sadly, we come with bad news, not just a friendly visit." Crow folds her arms and looks at her brother to take the lead. He sighs.

"Yasmine we-"

The door opens and Wolf is quick to turn away and tug his mask up over his mouth and nose. He makes sure to carry it just in case he comes into close contact with someone who could recognise him.

Turning back around, he finds Jamie standing there and her eyes move between him and his younger sister then her eyes roll.

"Bye."

"Actually sugar, please wait." Jamie looks over at her mom and folds her arms over her chest. "Since you are here, I wanted to introduce you to Hitter's sister Crow. She's also been watching over you for some time remember?"

"Hi Jamie, it's nice to finally meet you." Crow smiles gently and Jamie's eyes move to the dark haired female, with an extremely beautiful, high cheekbone face, her hands in the pockets of her blazer and she nods.

"Yeah okay. Can I go?" Is all Jamie says and Yasmine sighs.

"Can you at least try to get along with them?" Yasmine asks and Jamie takes a moment to think about it then the realises lights up her face so much you think she'll soften but then her gaze further turns icy and she says,

"They aren't anything to me, now can I go?"

"No sugar, you cannot go. Now sit down and we're going to talk once I'm done with them." Yasmine snaps and Jamie grinds her teeth. "Please."

"Okay whatever." Jamie mumbles, looking extremely annoyed and she plays with her lip, her nails sharp and long, kind of like claws, and she props herself down in her mother's office chair.

"Hitter, What were you saying?" Yasmine asks in defeat with a sigh and he exchanges a quick glance with his sister before answering.

"Crow and I were digging and we found that this entire thing is actually bigger than what we had initially thought...I stumbled across the name Emerson Prescott." Wolf tells Yasmine and the woman tenses.

"Who's that?" Jamie asks and all eyes turn to her.

"Leave Jamie." Yasmine orders.

"But mom you said-"

"Out Jamie now! I'll call you later okay?" Yasmine loses her temper, pointing a long finger to the door before leaning over and placing her hands on her desk as her daughter stands.

"You really are unbelievable, mom. If you're just gonna kick me out at the mention of a stupid name then don't call me to stay in the first place!" Jamie leaves the office, slamming the door behind her, which shakes the room and Yasmine straightens and looks at the two siblings she's left with.

"How do you know that name? Where did you find that name?!" Yasmine demands in frustration as she wraps her arms around herself.

"What? What's going on Yaz?" Crow takes a step towards her but the older woman shakes her head.

"Stop digging okay? Forget about all of this, I want you nowhere near this entire thing."

"But-"

"If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away. No more about this, go on about your lives as normal. Now leave me." Yasmine runs a hand through her shiny silver hair as her eyes shut stressfully and the siblings quickly stride out of the office, just as Jamie did moments ago.

It takes all her restraint not to scream out loud so she settles for swiping an arm over the contents of her desk, sending them flying onto the ground before turning to her liquor cabinet.

Wolf and Crow look at each other at the sound of things crashing inside the house but keep going, knowing that she wouldn't want them to come back.

"What the hell dude?" Crow says lowly with a shake of her head and Wolf decides not to say anything but,

"I need you to dig deeper, Crow. Except, let's keep it between us this time, okay? You report to me and not Yasmine. Something is going on, and we're going to find out what." Wolf tells his sister and she spares him a glance then shakes her head silently but doesn't disagree.

"Can one or both of you tell me who Emerson Prescott is and why is my mom so spooked by his name?" The two siblings turn at the sound of a scarily calm voice and meet the gaze of Jamie, whose arms are still firmly crossed over her chest, leaning against a wall in the foyer.

"Jamie uh, hey-"

"Don't." Jamie cuts Crow off who bites her tongue.

"We don't know who he is." Crow lies and Jamie examines her straight face, unable to tell if the other female is telling the truth or not as she chews her lower lip.

"You said you were going to find out who he was. I wanna know too."

"That's not a good idea-"

"Save it mask face. She's my mom, not yours okay? Mine. Tell me what you find out, or else." Jamie says and Hitter's lip curls underneath his mask.

"Or else what?" He challenges and her eyes move to his, about to accept the challenge.

"Hitter stop. She has a right to know. We'll keep you posted Jamie. Once again, it was nice to finally meet you." Grabbing her brother's arm, Crow pulls him out and walks past Jamie, who turns and stares after them, shaking her head at the emotion she knows is already beginning to brew inside of her.

Jamie's protective over her mom in general, and even if she won't admit it now, she feels threatened with the fact that her mom has been hiding two honourary kids for so long without even saying anything.

.....

"What the hell was that? Yasmine is her mom-"

"I know Crow. I didn't mean to snap at her, we're just all trying to protect her and I don't like being told what to do." Wolf shakes his head and Crow punches his arm softly but still firmly.

"Well you better play nice." Crow unlocks their car and tosses the keys to her older brother, who catches them then climbs into the luxurious SUV, followed by her a moment later as they slide into the driver's and passenger seats.

"Why'd you lie to her?" Wolf grips the steering wheel, his hands tightening around it as his fingers strain and she shrugs, tugging her seat belt on.

"Yasmine didn't want her to know. We were told to protect her and until we know what's going on with her, let's keep the info we find filtered towards the daughter. For now."

"Yeah okay, I guess so. Where are we headed?"

"I have work cut out for me, so home. I'm going to look into the Prescott guy some more and try to find him so we can get answers. He's super secretive, so obviously there's something to hide with his connection to Jamie. You just be on standby for when I call, watch the Davenports and continue with hits as usual, okay?"

"Okay."

.....

"Rickson, he's back." Yasmine breathes over the line in a panic after picking up not only the phone but the landline.

"Who? Mom? Mom what's going on?" Rickson, Yasmine's oldest daughter asks her mother who pulls open and slams through drawers of folders, looking for the documents she knows are hidden there.

"He's back Rikki and he's going to take my daughter away again." Yasmine finds the documents and holds the phone between her shoulder and ear. "I won't let that happen." She shifts through the papers, her eyes scanning over the text written frantically.

"Who? You mean Emerson?"

"Yes, bear."

"Oh my gosh. That cannot happen. What are we gonna do, mom?"

"Make sure he doesn't find us." Yasmine sighs and sinks onto her office chair. "I yelled at my sugar when I heard his name. Jamie's upset with me and...I need to pull it together bear."

"It's okay momma, leave Jamie to me. I'll get the girls and we'll distract her. You just take care of him okay? Mom."

"Yes bear, I've got it. Thank you, I love you."

"I know, I'll love you too." After hanging up with her daughter, Yasmine picks up the stack of documents and throws them into the gas fireplace in her office, turning the knob and flames spring, darkening the papers as they slowly begin the process of turning to ash.

Yasmine Davenport stares at the papers and clutches her hand against her chest, worriedly thinking about her daughter and she sighs.

"I'll protect you with everything I have sugar."

It's been way too long for him to suddenly come back and try to find out what happened to Jamie. She's her daughter because he was too much of a hard-head to listen to his wife. Yasmine isn't complaining...no, she's glad that Jamie is hers because as the first child she ever adopted nearly fresh out of the womb? The connection between them is extra close.

The Prescott family pisses Yasmine off. They need to back off before she decides to get rid of them like the trash that gets picked up every Monday.
