"Momma?" Jamie yells, her heels clicking against the stairs as she heads up them, bag in hand, sunglasses over her shoulder. Arriving to her mom's personal home office after walking through the entire house, Jamie twists the knob then pushes the door open, pausing when she sees the one person she never expected when she spoke to the woman who raised her just prior over the phone. "Daddy?"

"Hi sweetie." Mario greets, standing from the chair across from the sleek glass desk and pulling her into a hug and she tenses for a moment, not even wrapping her arms around him in show of returning the gesture as she glares at her mother for the lack of warning she was given.

Yasmine was married to Mario for about twenty years, before they got divorced over arguments about their company and empire as a whole. Mario believed he should have more shares since he started it, but Yasmine argued that she did more for the company while he lazed around so he didn't deserve the income of her success even if it was in his name. During the countless days in divorce court, Yasmine had adopted Jamie, having wanted children for her entire life and seeing the opportunity of bringing upon comfort and warmth while battling for her lost love. The timing wasn't ideal with handling the settlement of the end of their marriage, the company founders were at each others heads, but since they had yet to have gotten children, Mario fell in as much with the little girl as his ex wife did had helped Yasmine on these and those days to a point where they pretty much raised Jamie together.

Not that Yasmine could ever forget with how much he was constantly reminding her but also with how the child had nearly brought hope between the two of them but before they knew it, the divorce was settled.

Until Mario was kicked out of the house when everything was final, Yasmine claiming all rights of Jamie since she adopted the child on her own and put only her name on the papers anyways. Jamie was only two, but Mario visited when he could so she too has vivid memories of frankly her first words being mama and dada towards the two.

"What are you doing here? Mom, what is he doing here?" Jamie asks, stepping out of his arms and pulling her sunglasses off. Jamie doesn't particularly have a problem with the man, her problem is his lack of presence one minute then the stifling amount of time he expects for her to give him when he remembers that she's technically his first child. Not that he ever got any other kids of his own beside his two step-sons but they're very prominent parts of his life so Jamie is to assume that they're more his than she'll ever be.

Mario's eyes trail over his daughter's attire, over her sheer skirt, a bodysuit underneath being the only thing to keep her from being half naked.

"You wearing that for someone?" Mario asks, half joking yet half serious while taking off his jacket and moving to wrap it around her waist, covering her for his own sake at the moment because it gets hard to accept the adult in his little girl. No matter what she thinks she will forever be his little girl and seeing her on display...instead of her holding the expensive blazer around herself for the comfort of her mother's ex husband, she lets it slide to the ground, arms still crossed over her chest like a stern teenager.

"Put my jacket on J." Mario pleads, picking it up and Jamie furrows her eyebrows at the man, taking another step back.

"Now Mario, Jamie is an adult and she can wear whatever she wants." Yasmine steps in, coming over and snatching the jacket away before shoving it in her ex husband's chest.

"Next time wear pants." Jamie smirks.

"Next time don't be here." Yasmine mimics in his Portuguese accent and he scowls. "Now, I didn't call you here to scold my daughter's-"

"Our-"

"Mine! My daughter! This was a mistake. I cannot deal with you."

"She's still my daughter." Mario says weakly, pinching the bridge of his nose. "And I'm going to help her through this."

"Help me through what?" Jamie asks, tightening her arms over her chest. Yasmine stares at her daughter and walks around her ex husband, coming to hold her cheeks.

"You're my strong, brave girl." Yasmine tells her and Jamie swallows hard, knowing whatever comes after those words is going to shake her entire world and she doesn't think she's ready for that, so she begins shaking her head as her mom starts to talk. "The only way to move on from something, is to face it okay? We're going to face this together. As you know, Mario's father owns a law firm, which Mario did study in so I asked him to represent you for this.

"We're taking Emerson Prescott to court to sue him, making sure he stays the hell away from you because...you don't know this man."

"Momma."

"He won't take you away from me though."

"Mommy."

"Never. We're going to end this and in the process if you'd like, we can visit Connie Prescott's lawyer and handle for you to receive what she left you in her will."

"Mom no. Just stop! I don't wanna do it." Jamie shakes her head, taking a wavering step back and holding onto the wall. "I'm going to Scotland." Taking her phone out of her pocket, Jamie places it down on her mother's desk. "Nobody is going to contact me because I need a break or so help me I'm going to lose my mind."

"Jamie!" Yasmine and Mario both yell but she turns and runs down the stairs of her mother's house, unlocking her Jaguar and climbing inside, shoving the key in the ignition and starting the vehicle.

Rushing home, she texts an assistant of hers who lives around the corner of her house and asks the woman to come pack for her. Whilst the assistant is doing that, Jamie heads to her weapons closet, grabs a big black suitcase and begins arranging weapons.

The suitcase is situated for a heavy load of her gear so she just slips everything into its slot.

"Miss. Davenport?" Her assistant calls just as Jamie is zipping up the black case. "I've finished."

"Thank you, I'll send a check when I can." Standing, now Jamie and her assistant load everything in her car and she asks the woman to drive her to the airport then bring her car back.

"Of course. You sure you all packed?"

"Even if I wasn't. I'm out of here." Jamie states in a dead serious tone and her assistant laughs as she puts the car in drive and pulls out of Jamie's property.

.....

Crow's phone rings and she picks it up, looking at who's calling then tapping her finger over the answer button. "Hello Yaz."

"Crow, Jamie just stormed out and she left her phone. Tell me, you can still track her, right?" Yasmine questions hopefully, her voice thick with worry and Crow quickly boots up her computer and screen grabs a photo of Jamie, scanning it across roadside security footage to check for a match of identification.

"I can if she's on the move. Can you tell me where to look?"

"All she said was that she was going to Scotland, I don't care if she goes but-sniffs-I just wanna make sure my sugar is okay and I know her mind is just not in the right at the moment." Yasmine voice even cracks at the end of her sentence and Crow quickly cross references Jamie's face around the closest airports where she lives.

A blinker goes off and Crow watches footage of her driving into the airport, watching as she talks to a pilot. "I've got eyes on her. She's all in one piece. Do you want a ping on her location?"

"No, please just watch her?"

"Ayay Cap." Crow says then she hangs up and lowers her phone, texting her brother her orders and telling him not to worry when they don't hear back from the Davenport daughter since it's what she intended.

Wolf: Is she on a plane yet?

Crow: No.

Wolf: What airport is she using?
Then a second later,
Wolf: Wanna know just in case something happens.

Crow: I'll send you her ping.
.....

Finally having had her flight arranged after an hour of convincing and insisting that yes, she does need an entire jet to herself in once again, yes, short notice, Jamie make her way to the jet, pushing her sunglasses up her face.

Climbing the stairs, Jamie bends her head then goes in, pausing once she's straightened, having noticed Hitter standing there.

"Where are you going?"

"That, doesn't concern you." She tells him, folding her arms over her chest then crossing her feet at the ankle as she remembers what she's wearing when his eyes drop to her revealed skin underneath the thin sheer skirt.

What is he thinking? She wants to know.

Don't stare. He keeps telling himself.

"Actually it does. Unfortunately, I have to be there to the rescue when someone tries to kill you." He tells her, his voice hard when her face remains unmoving at his warning. "You're not taking this seriously."

"So what? Just leave Hitter, I arranged for one person on this flight and it isn't you."

Silver Hitter scoffs then stares at her dull, tired eyes, then his eyes drop to her still faintly bruised lips, thinking back to the night before and then he doesn't want to leave so much anymore.

Jamie sees this and her finger flutter all the way up to the tips as she turns her face away from his. "Please just go. I-I don't wanna do this with you or with anyone else right now but especially you. Just...I need to be left alone right now." Jamie says and Hitter takes a step forward and grabs her wrist before flinching away when she does too and their eyes lock as desire flares through both of their gazes like twisted strings of a firework are simultaneously about to go off.

He makes a decision right at that moment that he wants out of there and storms past her, jogging down the stairs of the entrance and Jamie clutches her chest and lets the breath she was holding out as the fireworks begin to diffuse.

It's too hot. She's hot. She's on fire and she needs to put it out faster than the deflating it's doing right now.

Quickly walking to the door, Jamie gazes outside and then her gaze falls on him as he climbs into his car, a black Ford Mustang. then drives away speedily.

*****

During the hours of the flight, Jamie takes a pause and lets her mind drift to everything that happened in the past few weeks, letting it drive her emotions into a frenzy now that she's finally all alone.

Never in her twenty eight years of living have her birth parents ever been mentioned, and now, she can't escape them. Being able to have such a great family she didn't have to think about the could have beens, she was grateful to have that but now those could have beens and questions are starting to cackle at her and make their presence known in her mind.

Connie said she didn't want to give her up but what does that mean and why is Jamie so stuck up on that when what's done is already done? Maybe it's because an unsettling feeling in her gut is telling that it's somebody else's fault that...that what? That Jamie has a great family, everything she could ever dream of in riches and royals and is actually genuinely happy?

Would she still be happy if her biological parents would have kept her? There she goes again with the 'what ifs' and 'would haves'.

It's the knowledge of the unknown that scares the million of possibilities who roam through the palace of two souls.

Now she thinks about Hitter. Would she still have kissed him like she did if the idea wasn't put there by his empathy? Is that why he kissed her in the first place? Because he thought she needed this too?

This is why Jamie doesn't ponder in such stuff. There's too many possibilities and some of them she just can't let herself believe could happen or could be the reason of something else.

Enough pause, Scotland, here she comes and she's planning on making this one a very long stay.

It's the knowledge of the unknown that scares the millions of possibilities who roam through the palace of two souls.

It's the ignorance of the mind. Who sticks to routines.

And leaves out the uncharted gravity of feelings and emotions.

That's where Jamie is right now, wanting to veer away from it all but she can't help but wonder where Wolf stands with it all.
