Wolf holds Jamie's arm and leads her into her mother's living room, her face turned away from him still as she refuses to look in his direction, in fear of breaking down in his hold once again but seeking the unexpected comfort that his hand on her sends next to keeping her somewhat steady on her shaky knees.

"Momma." Jamie hugs Yasmine tightly once they arrive at her home and Yasmine squeezes her back just as enthusiastically.

"Sugar I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I wanted to tell you but I didn't know how." Yasmine says, tears gathering in her eyes before they begin to fall as she thinks of the worst of what her daughter may feel.

What if Jamie hates her for not telling her about her biological parents? She had every right to know where she came from when she turned eighteen nearly ten years ago but all Yasmine could do was find every way to try and hide the truth of who the Prescotts were.

Hitter silently waves and Yasmine mouths him the words thank you before he slips out, knowing just how intimate this moment was for the two women.

"It's okay, I love you." Jamie says, her tears starting again as she sobs into her mother's shoulder. "And besides, if you'd have told me, I would have been all weird and in denial that I didn't care about meeting her." The two females laugh, and then Yasmine grips her daughter's cheeks.

"It's okay to be sad. I don't mind."

"I'm not sad. I'm just...confused. I honestly don't think I do care, momma." Jamie admits and Yasmine smiles and wipes her tears away. "She said she didn't wanna give me away, though. I know it isn't uncommon for the circumstances of giving away your child to not be the worst but I guess I just never thought... What would she have meant?"

"I don't know. I never knew them past you." Yasmine says, pulling Jamie into her living room where she holds her daughter, rocking her like she used to do when she was a little girl.

"She left me something in her will. What am I supposed to do with that?"

"Anything you want. You have the right to want to find out more." Yasmine admits painfully, kissing Jamie's forehead and the younger female catches on then sits up to meet her mother's gaze.

"You're my only momma bear. She may have birthed me, but you gave me life." Jamie cries and Yasmine cradles her cheek and kisses her nose.

"Thank you sugar. I love you."

"I love you more." Jamie wraps her arms around her mom agains and grips onto her tightly, inhaling the safe scent of her expensive custom made perfume.

.....

"What happened?" Crow asks her brother when he's on his third glass of whisky and still hasn't said anything, unable to get the Davenport daughter's crying face out of his head. Once he got past the stage of shock, he hugged her a little too tightly and it took everything to let her go so she could go to her mom who she actually needed right now.

"With who, me? No..." Wolf says, reaching for the bottle again and tipping his glass, but then his eyes fall on the locked box in the corner he had picked up in Scotland when Jamie left it.

Her vintage bottle of whisky and he sighs then downs the rest of his drink. "James knows pretty much everything now."

"She does? You told her?" Crow asks and he shakes his head. "Did Yasmine?" He shakes his head again then sits down to tell her everything, sipping his alcohol as he does so and by the end, his words are slightly slurred. "Oh my gosh."

"Thas what she kept sshaying." He tells Crow, rubbing at his eyes.

"Is she okay?"

"'member when Yassmine said her sugar wass fragile? Well she is." Hitter continues, standing then going to look out at Crow's balcony, which overlooks a beautiful view of a small forest of trees and he inhales a breath of fresh air then his eyes blur over and her face comes into view like a mirage. "She looked sooo...sad."

"I'm sure she did."

"I didn't know what to-do."

"What did you do?"

"Held her." Wolf whispers, his sister not hearing him and he turns back to her then smiles. "I'm gon' crash in your guesst bedroom. G'night."

"Night." Crow says, watching him walk in a mostly straight path to the room and she sighs.

Jamie looks through the pictures Connie sent for her, a beautiful Filipino woman in them with tanner skin than even Jamie herself has and her lips tighten into a line. She really looked like her.

Jamie's pain isn't at not having been able to meet her, it's at having not been able to confront her anger and run in the woman's face how well she was able to do without her. Jamie has a firm relationship with Yasmine, three sisters and anything she could ever want.

She's lucky, and she doesn't want to think too long on the could've/would've beens.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Can we come in J?" Rickson asks, holding two bottles of rosé and Jamie nods, setting aside the papers to make space for her sisters. "You okay?"

"I'm okay. Just tired, I barely slept the entire night." Jamie admits, taking one of the bottles of rosé and opening it, grabbing one of the glasses the sisters brought from the kitchen and filling it.

"You know I felt the same way when I found out about my...bios." Nial starts, twisting a blonde front strand of hair before letting it fall against the rest of her dark hair. "Except I was a teenager, I acted out and Yasmine threatened to send me to boarding school." The sisters all laugh quietly. "I was angry because I had wished that the reason they had given me up was because they were dead but no, that happened way after. The point is, it's okay to let it out J, and like you all were there for me, I'm gonna be there for you because at some point, all of us will deal with bio crap. But we're the only people we truly need."

"Thank you." Jamie sets her glass aside, reaches over and hugs her older sister. "I love you."

"Love you too sugar."

Making her way into her house after a while of being cooped up at her mother's, Jamie heads up to her bedroom to shower, but then she pauses when she sees something familiar on her bed.

The bottle of whisky she bought but forgot in Scotland when she made a quick getaway from Hitter. Rushing to the box, she gets it open and sure enough, her bottle lays inside and she smiles, lifting it into her arms and kissing it.

That's when she notices a small card and she picks it up then opens it, still holding the bottle in her arms.

I thought after finding out some crazy news, you could use a pick me up. I know you won't drink it, but if you look in the envelope that came with the note, I found some samples you could try while admiring your prize.

S.H

Jamie sets the bottle back in its box then pulls out two sample shots from the envelope and shakes her head slowly, wondering where in the hell he could have even gotten these.

She tried to look, was willing to pay any price just to taste this greatness without corrupting her collection piece but there was never anyone who had them. It's rare to find sample shots. She's going to save them for a special day.

*****

Jamie leans over her balcony one day, her hand holding a bottle of water as she takes her pain medication before setting it all aside and feeling her ribs.

It's been a while since the accident, and although she isn't fully healed yet, she could use some pool time, especially when it's a little bit chilly out and her swimming pool is catered to go with the weather, meaning it's warm and Jamie appreciates a nice warm swim in the evening.

She goes to her closet and changes, peeling off her fake eyelashes so they don't get ruined before moisturising so her skin, so it isn't dry since she plans on staying for quite a bit of time.

Now wearing a white bikini with a low criss cross back, Jamie treads lightly down the stairs, stops in the kitchen to grab her favourite bottle of sweet alcohol, she then makes her way outside, glass of rosé in hand. Her short hair blows around in the breeze and she watches the water in her pool dance, reflected by the light of the moon and the lights inside the pool.

Having a sweet sip of rosé, she sets the glass aside, runs, then dives into the water, the cold water touching her entire being and she shudders lightly, before kicking her feet until she's back at the surface. Turning onto her back, Jamie maneuvers her body to swim while looking up at the starry sky.

.....

Hitter climbs over Jamie's tall wall and spots her house, almost every room lit up like a Christmas tree and he pauses with his legs on either side of her wall still as he watches.

It's been a few days since he last heard from her, and as much as he was in denial and hated more than anything to admit, he's worried now. Crow made him realise that after seeing her in such a vulnerable state, he couldn't leave it without saying anything to her about it. So now kicking both legs onto her side of the wall, he launches himself off and rolls in the grass, getting back up and brushing himself off.

Running to avoid any motion censors he knows she has, he arrives at her front door and picks the lock, pushing it open then using his watch to disarm her alarm system before it even has the opportunity to chime.

Going upstairs, he finds her bedroom abandoned, the bed messy like someone had just lain in it and he wonders if she just didn't make her bed or she's just gotten out of it.

.....

Jamie swims to the edge of the pool, kicking her feet against the wall and diving backwards into the pool and she lets a big splash go, attracting the attention of the person she didn't even know was there.

Having heard the splash, he makes his way to the glass sliding doors and pushes them open, stepping out onto the balcony, Silver Hitter finds the person he was looking for, doing laps in the swimming pool and he leans his arms against the railing and just, watches her.

She truly is remarkable to him.

She's used to the water, her body gliding smoothly as she swims from one side to the other, her skin showing from head to toe, only covered by a bit of white material.

It looks like she's glimmering in the pool, against the lights that illuminate her on the inside.

Suddenly she pauses, looking around as her hands and legs wave under the water to keep her from sinking as she looks around before her gaze locks onto Hitter's. He waits and doesn't comprehend her reaction, the way her eyes light up until she smiles.

So she's happy to see him? Well, he might be smiling at back at her from behind the comfort of his mask as his hands curl around the balcony railing as he continues just looking down at her.
