'Silver's POV'

I'm awaken early in the morning by the sound of my cages door opening. I stand up and see only one white coat, he tosses a body into my cage. I realize who it is as soon as her pale face is in my line of vision.

"Julia!"

The white coat doesn't say or do anything else before he locks my cage and walks away.

I hold Julia on my lap and examine her. By now, they've already put her in the same outfits that the rest of us wear; they're short, pastel blue, hospital gowns, and they have pants instead of just being a dress.

I can't see anything on any of her skin that isn't covered by her clothes. I sit there for a while, wondering what they planed to do with her.

Julia's eyes begin to open, slowly revealing her dark brown eyes

"S-silver..." She shivers and lets out a stutter. She begins sitting up, almost as if trying to show me something

"Julia, what is it?" I ask. She turns away from me and shows me her back. Covering the top part of her back are big, bloody cuts, two of them. They run vertically down her shoulder blades. My eyes widen and I cover my mouth with my hand

"Silver, what did they do to me?" I can hear the tears in her eyes.

I can only assume, but I assume that she's going to become part hawk, like myself. I don't remember it, but a few years ago, I had asked Lilian what I'd looked like before they turned me into a monster. She told me that she'd only had a glimpse, but my hair was once dark brown, and my eyes were the same colour as they are now; bright blue.

She also told me what I had looked like while they were transforming me into what I am now, and Julia fits the description perfectly, other then the fact that her hair isn't changing colour.

"J-Julia..." The words get caught in my throat. She covers her back again and turns to me "you're going to become part hawk..." I close my eyes, I don't want to see her reaction

"So, I'll be like you?" Her question catches me off-guard. I'd expected her to be bawling. I open my eyes and she's looking at my wings, which rest, folded down behind my back

"Y-yeah... You will..." I answer slowly. She smiles and hugs me tightly

"At least you'll be here to help me..." She whispers quietly. I rest one arm around her back, while the other pets down her hair

"I will always be here for you, Julia." I feel her breath start to slow down, she's falling asleep. I let my head fall against one of the bars of my cage. My eyes fall shut and I fall asleep...

The next morning, I'm waken up by screaming again, but it isn't Julia. I open my eyes and see Lilian being forced out of her cage. Julia is off of my lap and watches helplessly as they force her out of the cage doors

"Lilian!!" I scream, standing up and pounding against the door of my cage

"Quiet down!!" One of the white coats points his taser gun at me

"No, let her go!!"

He shoots it, but not at me. His shot hits Julia in the stomach "you should've listened" he smirks wickedly

I immediately fall to my knees and cradle her small body in my arms. I don't cry, I won't cry, I won't let them break me like this.

The white coats eventually force Lilian out of her cage, they take her away.

Dez watches me as I kneel on the cold, metal ground, and rock Julia back and forth.

"So, did you figure out what they're going to make her yet?" He asks

"Yeah..." I don't look him in the eyes, I keep my gaze focused on Julia's pale, freckled face.

I see Dez move over to get closer to us. I open my mouth and let the words come out

"She's going to be like me..." I squeeze my eyes shut as I speak

"A hawk." He nods quietly.

After a while the white coats throw Lilian back into her cell. She doesn't move, she isn't conscious. Vanessa stares into my cage as the white coats who just threw Lilian into her cage surround her

"What happened to the girl?" She asks, nodding her head towards Julia

"One of your idiots electrocuted her," I glare up to Vanessa

"Well, I'm sure you know what we've mixed her with by now." Vanessa smirks "does it bring back memories, Silver?" My eyes widen, I was normal, she was normal... They made us into freaks...

The white coats open my cage. I set Julia down and allow them to pick me up by my arms, I don't have the strength to fight them right now.

They take me into an experimental testing room, one that I've never been in before. I begin to get nervous, I thought they'd done every test that they could possibly do, apparently I was wrong.

I begin to struggle as they strap me into a metal chair

"What are you going to do to me!?" I scream

"Calm down Silver, we just need to test your healing abilities," Vanessa answers as she flicks a needle

I pull and tug against the metal straps keeping me in the chair

"Now, just relax," she shoves the needle into my wrist and takes great pleasure in injecting the clear liquid into me.

The liquid feels like fire inside of my arm. I bite down on my lip, drawing blood as I do.

The burning begins to take over my body. It goes on for minutes before dulling down and soon disappearing. My breathing slows down again. Vanessa writes something down and nods her head, she almost looks impressed

"You really are amazing Silver. That injection has killed many experiments, your healing abilities are very powerful." She praises me.

I don't speak, they've killed so many... Why couldn't that have killed me too?

"Now that we've seen you can heal yourself in incredible time," one of the white coats hands her a sharp knife "we must see how you react in a panic situation" she moves my shirt off of my shoulder and slices into the flesh on my arm. This time, I can't hold back my scream and it flies out of my mouth.

I have so many scars from them, this is just another one to add to my collection.

The white coats leave the room with Vanessa, watching me from the one-way mirror that occupies one full wall.

The metal straps keeping me on the chair pop off. As they do, Vanessa's voice comes over the intercom

"Weather you live or die all depends on you, Silver,"

I begin to look for something to wrap around my arm. I find gauze and medical tape. I quickly wrap it around my shoulder and put pressure on the wound.

Just a I think I've succeeded, the room begins to fill with water. It fills at an accelerating pace. I back up to the opposite wall of the mirror and run full-force into it. The glass cracks, but doesn't break.

The water begins to lift me off of my feet, it's rising too fast for me to run at the mirror again. The pressure of the water begins to crack the glass even more. Before I know it, I'm forced to take a breath and go completely under the water.

I smash against the glass all I can, but because I'm under the water, the force isn't enough. I slam into the glass one final time and it cracks all the way to the edges. It then shatters, forcing me, and all of the water into the room where Vanessa and the white coats stand, looking impressed.

I land on the floor and cough violently, breathing hard

"She's ready, prepare the arena." The white coats nod at Vanessa's orders

"Ready for what?" I ask, as I wipe the water away from my mouth with the back of my hand

"Since you are so successful, you will be fighting your next-generation prototype. Lots of scientists are coming to watch you."

She kneels down and rips my homemade bandage off of my arm. She pokes the gash with her finger

"Hmm, already healing." She turns to the remaining white coats "the fight will be in one week time, send out invitations to every scientist in the world!" She demands, then turns back to me "everyone will see how amazing you really are... If the next generation doesn't kill you, that is."

I stand up, beginning to feel defensive

"You shouldn't be doing this to people! Do you know how wrong it is?! It's disgusting! We were once regular humans too!!" I scream at her

"Dear, you don't understand, because of the position you're in, you don't understand the benefit this will have on the world."

"Benefit?! How could this have any sort of benefits?!"

"You will see one day, if you survive to see our new world." Before I can continue to argue, she nods to the white coats. This time I walk back to my cage, they still throw me into it, but I'm glad to be back with Julia.

She's finally awaken, Lillian hasn't, she's still laying, unconscious on the floor of her cage.

"Julia, you're awake," when I call out to her, she turns and hugs me

"Yeah, Dez was keeping me company until you got back!" She exclaims happily

"That was nice of him," I smile thankfully at Dez

"Well, what can I say, I'm a nice guy." He smiles and shrugs his shoulders. I laugh a little

"Oh yeah! Look Silver!" Julia turns and shows me her back; little, pure white wings stick out of the cuts they had made earlier

"They're still growing, at least, that's what the white coat said when she came to check up on her," Dez tells me

"They're beautiful," I smile as she covers her back and hugs me again

"Thank you Silver... When I'm older, I want to be just like you; strong, loving, pretty, and I want my wings to be as big and amazing as yours," her words shock me... I've never had anyone tell me that they wanted to be like me before...

"Hello, earth to Silver." When I come back to reality, Dez has his hand in our cage and he's snapping his fingers in my face

"Oh, sorry." I let go of Julia and sit down in our cage. She sits beside me, resting her head on my shoulder...

'Nya's POV'

Jay and Lloyd had gone into town a few hours ago. They said that they were going out to try and find more information on this 'Institute', but I think they just wanted to go to Doomsday Comics.

I'm in the dining room with the others, when said boys rush into the room.

"Guys, look what we found!!" Jay exclaims and holds up a piece of paper. He shakes it up and down, so I can't make out any of the words

"Well, we didn't really 'find' it. We saw one of those guys with the white coats, he looked like he was delivering them, so we jumped him and took one." Lloyd explains

"Jay, may I see it please?" Sensei holds his hand out. Jay gives Sensei the paper and he reads it out loud

"Come and see one of our most successful experiments fight her next generation. Whoever wins is the stronger generation. You will also get a sneak peak at our unfinished, indestructible new creation! He will be our best hope at creating a new, better world!" Sensei also tells us the address on the paper and, sure enough, it matches the institute's

"So, how do we get in?" Kai asks

"Easy, we just have to dress up like scientists." Cole answers

"When is this 'fight' taking place Sensei?" I ask

"In exactly one week from today," he places the invitation on the table

"How will we know which experiment is the one from the prophecy?" Jay asks, we all look at him "what?" He asks

"Jay, think about it." Lloyd starts

"It says that she is one of their most successful experiments," Zane finishes

"Ohh." Jay nods his head.

"So the experiment from the prophecy will be a female?" Cole asks

"It seems that way," Garmadon answers

"We must remember to find Julia," Misako points out

"Yes, but not all of us can go, as we will look suspicious. Ninja and Nya, you will be disguising yourselves as scientists and finding the experiment and Julia." Sensei tells us

"Yes Sensei." We answer in unison.

We plan what will happen, and go shopping for scientist clothing through the week.
