Ever wondered why people struggle to live despite suffering from it?

It looks weird seeing people struggle kung lahat naman tayo mamatay in the end. Especially sa mga movies. I can't understand why were they desperate to live.

What makes them desperate?

Kung magkakawar man sa bansa, there's no way I'll live. I'll be the one to die first.

Simply living was painful enough so why do I have to struggle to survive?
