❄SNOWMAN❄
Stepping out, freezing wind stung his face. Sky was cloudy, blocking any warmth the sun could provide. Winter made its presence known as his nose turn a pale shade of pink. Shoving his hands in his jacket, he tried to warm them up.
Silver fog appeared in his vision as he breathed steadily. Chatter of students filled the building ahead, growing in volume as he walked closer.
"Aziel!" a familiar voice shouted, grabbing his attention. Warm hazel eyes faced icy blue. His face pulled into smile as his friend pat on his back, he exchanged the morning greetings.
With light conversations flowing between them, they ignored the persistent stare that followed them around. With the status they once held in school, came the stares that refused to leave. At first, they were welcomed but with time sneaky eyes became annoying. Now, they were immune to them.
Leaning against the locker next to Aziel's, Jason gave him a lopsided grin. Shaking his head at his poor attempt at a joke Aziel pulled his locker open. Noise of pages rustling was lost between the voices of a normal high school hallway.
Something with a small thud dropped on the ground. Quick to act he swooped down, taking the small box into his possession. Wrapped delicately in brown paper, the small gift fit perfectly in his palm.
By now he had gained Jason's attention too. Letting out a small whistle he leaned forward. Focusing all his attention towards the thing in his friend's hands. "Seems like someone got a secret Santa this year."
Ignoring Jason's sarcastic words, he turned his back towards the prying eyes and tore open the packing. Inside was a small card with a snowman sticker on front.
Eagerly pulling the ribbons on the side open he came across something he never expected. Attached to one side a box of fresh mint Tic-Tacs, confusing him to every atom. Squinting, he pulled the card closer, trying to read the small words written on the other page.
'Heard you have been naughty this year. Now all you get for Christmas is snowman poop...jk :)'
A small smile slipped on Aziel's face, making his small dimples prominent. Now the small insignificant gift made a lot more sense. An ugly snort slipped past Jason's lips as he scrutinized the gift.
"Seems like someone thinks you have bad breath." Jason voiced out, to which he received a smack on the back of his head.
Aziel bit his lips thinking about the possible secret Santa. Jason! No, he is too immature for this. Serena? Maybe. The monotonous ringing seized his attention. Shaking his head he shoved the box in his pocket following the flood of students. Feet scraping on the floors lulled to nothing as minutes passed by.
Taking it as a sign a small figure peeked out of the dark corner. Happy with her first success, she sighed as his dimpled smile came to her mind. Smile adorning her cherry red lips she hummed a happy Christmas beat, skipping past the halls, out the school door. With thoughts similar but still very different Aziel and the girl celebrated the first day of December.
