The red balloon, with air as you fill,
However hard you hold, rise it will;
When you cut the strings,
It soars as it had wings,
Its flight brings cheer and thrill.

It flies high in the blazing noon,
As if it might reach the moon;
A tiny little speck of red,
As across the sky it sped,
Fluttering away, the little red balloon.
