Not Happy But Not Sad Either

Chapter-26

Life is too beautiful and chaotic. Chaotic always in one way or other, and it depends on what we feel whether it is beautiful or not.

Sometimes, when we have a bad day, a rainy day might irritate us, the busy chattering would make us want to disappear whole world for sometime, the coffee will taste a little too bitter.

And at sometimes, we would love to get wet in the very rain, the busy chattering of people seems refreshing and the coffee seems to our taste and might enjoy it.

Its all about how we feel. Life is that.

Aarohi poured the tea in two cups and gave one to her father and the other to her husband who took it looking deeply at her. She didn't glance back.

Yesterday's incident keeping on replaying in her mind.

One thing she is not understanding is that, she can't digest that Abhi regret loving her.

She remembered the day when Vishal confessed his crime of not loving her because she is annoying, controlling and all. He used them as a reason to cheat on her.

Now to think that Abhimanyu doesn't like her too is not sitting okay with her and somehow, her stupid heart wants Abhi to look at her with love, and show care and affection.

But why do she want them? What she is feeling? She doesn't know and she doesn't want to know because she know the answers would be too much to handle now.

"Look at her face. Always day dreaming."

She heard her sister and rolled her eyes.

"Stop annoying me."

" My bad. You are too easy to annoy."

"Should I tell mom about that Whatsapp message Atharva sent few days back in Family group?"

Aarohi asked looking at her sister with innocent smile making Chandini made her eyes wide, she know enough of her sister to know that she would do that.

"No you wouldn't."

"Yes I will."

"What are you both talking about? What message?"

They both jerked and looked at their mother who is looking at them confused with their banter, completely unaware that her sweet innocent lovely favourite Atharva is behind her daughter.

"Nothing Amma." Chandini said immediately.

" No Amma. Chand is feeling sh- Umm" Chandini covered her sister's mouth immediately and dragged her from kitchen to the hall where her father and Abhimanyu are talking about some stuff.

"Bava, take this devil to some forest and leave her there. She is planning my murder."

( Bava:- brother-in-law)

" I am already in a jungle. You are the only missing person there. Come with your Arva- Ah! Why are you beating me? Amma! See I just came and she is beating me."

Aarohi squealed running around the couch.

"I am not beating her Amma. And you came yesterday you devil "

They both started bickering and fighting making others frown and laugh at them.

Aarohi's mother sat beside her father and looked at their daughters as they bickered like monkeys.

"We missed this in the house. Aarohi never was like this again after Vishal's issue."

Abhimanyu looked at Aarohi's father who is looking at his daughter.

"You always have something in you, which makes my daughter smile and set her free. You are a gem." her father said making Abhimanyu give him a small smile.

"And hope she won't do anything stupid to lose this gem."

Her mother said and Abhimanyu looked at her before giving her a reassuring smile. He chuckled a little.

" Don't worry aunty. It takes alot to get rid of me. " Abhimanyu said but her mother know one thing for sure. Aarohi is yet to make amends with him. They don't have that wife and husband bond yet. She can see.

They avoid eachother mostly. She can see it since yesterday. They don't talk much neither do they blush. Nor her daughter just glance at him. She is old. She knows what is what.

Abhimanyu just turned his head to see that now that wild cats calmed a little and are gossiping about something. He smiled looking at them.

They were always like that, crying sometimes, laughing sometimes and then fighting like cat and dog.

Just then Aarohi looked at him and they immediately turned their head back away from eachother.

You only had one thing to do. Look while he is not. Can't do that too eh? Aarohi thought in mind and slapped herself mentally for being like this.

They spent the whole morning laughing and catching up while in the evening they went to Abhimanyu'd parents.

"Amma, be ready by tomorrow morning we will come with the van." Aarohi said as she tied the peach colour saree around her that her mother suggested.

She was arranging the plates of it when her bent down and arranged them neatly adjusting a little at down.

"Can I ask you something?" her mother took the chance of being alone at room. Aarohi nodded still setting her saree right.

"Are you happy with Abhi."

That question caught her off gaurd and a small smile came on her face.

"Maa, you never asked my decision of marrying him and imposed it on me. Now you are asking after nearly a month of marriage?" Aarohi chuckled bitterly.

"I was afraid being a mother and you still love that rascal Vishal-"

"Eww maa, no! I realised it after marriage that I don't love him. No! Chi not at all " Aarohi scrunched her nose.

"Even before marriage you said you loved him despite everything but you can't forgive him. What changed your heart? You love Abhi? You guys okay-"

"Yes ma! But marriage and companionship with other male proved me that I stopped loving him and Abhi... I am not happy maa."

She said and looked at her mother who bent her head down. Aarohi sighed.

"But Maa, I am not sad either. I always saw him as a friend maa. I never looked at Abhimanyu in any relationship! Not even like a brother. A friend with no relationship tag!

And suddenly I got to know he had feelings for me and hid it from me! I was his best friend! We could have done something to remove him from torture of having me beside loving another man!

But he didn't tell anything and beat the one I was loving then. Agreed Vishal was at fault but I didn't know then and when I knew what that man actually was...

I was sick and after leaving him Abhimanyu again proposed me and I felt like he took the opportunity to be with me. I was wrong maybe but maa, be in my position and understand how it was for me! "

Her mother just nodded understanding what her daughter went through. Her point of view is right too.

"Promise me you will love again. Just because a banana is found rotten doesn't mean we don't have any other." Aarohi tried hard to not to think in a dirty way but couldn't help and laughed.

Her mother didn't get and started asking her why she is laughing.

How could Aarohi say that banana is teased for a man's genital?

After that whole scene where her mother was still clueless, Aarohi got out to see Abhimanyu ready in a black half sleeve t-shirt with faded light blue jeans.

They together left taking their luggage.

Aarohi didn't have much luggages to carry since her mother-in-law asked her to not to bring clothes for temple visiting and places cause she arranged sarees and dresses. Aarohi accepted them after lots of pestering and when she was asked in mother-in-law tone.

They reached his house and his mother welcomed them. They spent some quality time and ate dinner. Later they retired to their respective rooms.

Sleeping far away from his presence as he worked Aarohi only hoped for one thing. That everything should be okay in the trip...

I know I said I will update soon. But my life is always a mess. Now have to clear shits of others too. :)

It sucks to be honest, so besties, before going through anything when your friends say something think about it. No matter what some friends are genuine and they care for you!

Aarohi didn't listen like that only and fell for that jerk Vishal!

Aarohi's character is complicated! I tell you again and again. This isn't like some stories where the leads fall for eachother and have their backs all the time.

My leads in this book are like snails.

They didn't even have a kiss. 😂

Anyways. Take care. Love you guys.

Love-Anya ❤️
