Kibas pov

I jumped off akamarus back and ran to my old home. As soon as I reached the grassy area I threw my shoes off and ran through the grass. I felt at home for the first time in forever.

"Slow down puppy" kankero wrapped his arms around my waist "remember we have to get gaara to his meeting"

"Right sorry" I giggled against his chest before looking up at him "kankero is this your first time here?"

"Yep" he looked around at the scenery "I've never seen so much green before and the grounds are a lot sturdier than the sand I'm used to"

"You should take your shoes off" I encouraged him "there's nothing better than the grass beneath your feet"

He gave me a sceptical look before taking his shoes off "hey this does feel pretty good"

"Now try rolling in it" I bellyflopped onto the grass and rolled around excitedly. Kankero copied me awkwardly but he seemed to be having fun-

"Kiba?" I looked over in disbelief. Standing there was...

"Hinata! Shino!" I rushed over and engulfed them in a bear hug. My closest friends were all grown up. Hinata was gorgeous and shino.. well shino hasn't changed much.

"Oh my gosh it's really you" hinata touched my cheek with tears in her eyes.

"When the black ops said they couldn't find your body we held onto hope that you'd find your way back to us" he wiped a stray tear away.

At shinos words all those horrible memories of what happened eleven years ago came flooding back. I burst into tears "guys my family was- I was- a slave-I-"

"Shh kiba it's okay now" the two of them rocked me in their arms as I bawled.

"Hey" kankero waved awkwardly "I'm kibas alpha. It's nice to-"

"Alpha? Did this man buy you!?!" Hinata held me protectively.

"Don't worry. I'll make him disappear" shinos bugs swarmed around his hand menacingly.

"Go ahead gaara" kankero told his brother "this looks like it's going to take a while" gaara nodded sympathetically before disappearing in a cloud of sand.

I looked between the glares of both kankero and my friends nervously. Oh boy!
