The glasses of cloudy liquid were placed in front of us. I stared at it sceptically.

"Something wrong puppy?" Kankero asked.

"No it's just I've never had alcohol before" I looked up nervously.

"I guess you wouldn't have. You haven't lived much have you puppy?" He looked at me sadly "well that changes now. Let's drink to your future lived experiences" he held his glass. I smiled as we clinked glasses and downed it.

"Gah it burns" I held my throat.

"You'll get used to that" he wrapped his arm around me. Everything was alright until-

"Lee is everything alright?" Gaara stared at Lee who was rocking slightly.

"Immm fine baby" he said, his face red with a goofy smile on his face.

"You're drunk?" Gaara tilted his head in confusion "but you only had one drink. I'm not sure if I should be impressed or concerned"

"Ahh a ghost!" Without warning he scooped gaara into his arms "sssdon't worry my love. I'll protect you"

"T-thanks?" Gaara's face turned as red as his hair. I giggled at the scene but this proved to be too much for kankero.

"You son of a bitch!"

"Yah!"

"Are you serious? He got drunk around him!?"

"I know right. How irresponsible do you have to be?"

"How could you let him go out with a guy like that!"

"What was I supposed to do!"

I listened to temari and kankero fighting with a sigh. I wonder if nana was alive would she have been this protective over me dating. Probably.

I sat next to gaara who was curled up in a ball "you doing okay?"

"Not really" he sighed "it feels like everything was ruined. Why am I so bad at this" he groaned into his hands.

"Do you like this boy?" I asked.

"I-yeah I do" he nodded "not that it matters. I'll never be allowed to see him again"

I looked over at the arguing siblings before leaning in and whispering "you should sneak out"

"Huh?" He looked up in disbelief.

"I can distract them for an hour. You go and get your man" I winked at him.

"Thank you kiba" he hugged me before rushing out. I waved to him before rolling up my sleeve. Okay kiba let's do this!
