Kankeros pov

"Hellooo" temari threw open the door with a big smile. We arranged a while back for her to come up and visit us.

"Sis it's good to see you" I pulled her into a hug. Shikamaru followed behind her with my three year old nephew shikadai in his arms.

"Shikamaru how have you been doing?" Gaara smiled politely.

"Been busy mostly" he shrugged as shikadai hid into his father's chest "I'm helping Naruto run for hokage. If all goes well he'll be hokage in two years"

"That's amazing. I wouldn't expect any less from Naruto" gaara smiled softly.

"Gaara!" Lee burst in and engulfed gaara in a hug. Gaara giggled as he kissed him all over. I chuckled. He's always so clingy when he gets back to the sand. I turned my attention to shikadai.

"Hey little buddy" I bent down to see shikadai "I'd say how's my favourite nephew but uncle gaara might get mad"

"Daddy!" Metal ran in with his twin sister mineral close behind me "mineral got sand in my eyes!"

"It was an accident. I just got angry cause he knocked over my sand castle" she pointed at her brother with tears in her eyes.

"It's alright son. A little water will get that sand right out" Lee pulled out a water bottle and poured it into his eyes "mineral let's try and be more careful okay" he gently told the red haired girl.

"Okay daddy" she mumbled before spotting shikadai "shikadai! Hey do you want to play with me"

"Sure I guess" he muttered as he jumped out of his father's arms "what do you have to play with?"

"We have sand!" Her blue eyes sparkled excitedly.

"That's it?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Wha-what more could you want!" She gasped.

"Sand's also good for training since it's harder to run in sand" metal gave him a thumbs up.

"If you got nothing to play with then I'll pass" he turned away.

"We have toys in my bedroom that you could play with" Yuki popped up.

"Really! Well that changes things" shikadai grinned.

"You boys are so lame. I can't wait until kairis is old enough to play with me" mineral pouted

"I'm so glad I don't have a sister. Women are nothing but trouble" shikadai grumbled.

"Shikadai you watch your mouth!" Temari snapped.

"Sorry mom" he shrunk down fearfully before running off with the twins.

"He gets that from you" she shot a glare at shikamaru who looked away awkwardly "Alright now where's my baby niece?"

"Right here" kiba walked in with our daughter in his arms.

"Oh she's so cute" temari, Lee and shikamaru gathered around him excitedly.

"Yuki don't you want to play with your cousins?" Gaara asked the boy.

"I don't want to get in their way" he muttered into his hands.

"Listen buddy you could never get in the way of everyone's fun" I patted his hair "you're the most sensible kid I know. We could really use you keeping them out of trouble"

"Okay daddy" he smiled before stumbling away.

"That kid has no confidence" I sighed.

"Yeah but he'll come around. I believe in him" kiba nodded.

"You're right baby" I kissed the top of his head. As a father all I want is my children's happiness. If I can achieve that then I'll be satisfied. I'm sure Lee and shikamaru feel the same way. We went through so much together to get to this point where we can be a family but I'm glad. Now we can all finally have our own piece of happiness.
