'Wake up.' Mute told herself before opening her eyes. It hadn't been that long since Mute had fallen asleep. She tried her best to sleep, but getting any shut eye wasn't on her side for tonight. Her head pounded against her skull. Mute shook her head and got out of the bed and left the room. 

Her plan wasn't to escape this time. She just didn't want to be asleep at the moment. Mute had found her way into the garden and looked at the flowers below. Her mind began to wonder off until she felt Sebastian's presence. 

"What do you want?" She slowly glanced at him with the corner of her eye. 

"Only to look after you. Are you alright?" 

"I'll live." Mute replied, her back still turned to him. "Apologies. I'm aware of what I've done..." She folded her arms. 'One of the reasons why I couldn't rest. I had to calm down...'

"It is alright, Milady. I was worried for you." Sebastian walked closer to her. He answered with a soft smirk. 

"I don't get it... What is it that you want from me?! I don't believe a damn word that you say!" She tightened her fist and shook her head as if she were tantrum. At the same time the wind blew a bit heavily due to Mute's emotions. But she wasn't going to let her emotions get the better of her. Not this time. 

"I want to take care of you, Mute." 

"You can't... There's no point. What are you doing this for?" 

"That should have been clear to you by now, Milady." Within an instant, Sebastian was in front of Mute with his eyes glowing demonically. He smirked as he pulled her close to him, wrapping his arms around her small body. Mute flinched as he did this before staying still as a rock. Moments later, she felt what she had been craving. "You can feel it, can't you? You and I are meant to be." 

Mute's eyes were closed as she had so quickly given into the feeling. Lust. Adoration. Want. Need. She wanted so badly to deny it. But she shoved herself away from him and gave him a glare. "You're wrong. It's only instinct." 

"You can deny it as much as you like, but deep down you know the truth." Sebastian cupped her chin with his finger curled and his thumb resting on her chin. 

'You and I are creatures that are not from this world. That doesn't mean we are meant to be mates. You're insane...' Mute frowned with some doubt. She looked back at Sebastian at the same time he leaned down to her eye level. Mute flinched as Sebastian gave her cheek a long, sweet kiss. After that he smiled down at her and walked away, going into the manor to return to his duties. 

The following day, Mute accompanied Ciel, Sebastian, Soma, and the other servants to the curry festival. She knew she had to be out to get some fresh air. She didn't want to cause any trouble. After Sebastian said his temporarily farewells, Mute was able to go off on her own. As she walked, she heard her name being called out. 

"Mute? Mute!" Mute turned around and was hugged tightly by her friend, Miko. She blinked in surprise. 

'Miko?' She whispered in shock. 

"I knew I'd find you here in a gathering such as this. It's been days since you've returned. Where have you been all this time? Are you alright?" 

"Mhm." Mute nodded her head. 'I'm okay, Miko.' Mute pulled away from the hug and raised an eyebrow.

"Have you forgotten that I'm the opposite of you? I like going to social events such as this. My, it has been that long, hasn't it? What else have you forgotten about me?" Miko giggled as she teased. 

"Enough." Mute pouted and pinched both of Miko's cheeks. 

"Okay, okay. You'll have to tell me what you've been up to when all of this is over. Is that understood?" Miko winked at Mute while putting a finger to her lips. 

'Yeah, yeah.' Mute rolled her eyes then nodded with a light smile. It was nice to see a familiar face again. She missed how Miko would always tease her when it was only the two of them alone together. 

"Oh! I heard from a little birdie that the Queen herself is going to be attending this festival." 

'Are you sure that's not the gossip?' Mute thought. During their time at the festival, Miko and Mute walked around as Miko was socializing and Mute would just be her shadow. Just like old times. At some point, Mute had wandered off on her own again so she can try and enjoy this festival. 'What's this festival for again? Curry? Why would Miko show up here to such a gathering? If she was hungry, she could have just made something at home. She's the chef.' 

Mute hummed in thought before her eyes caught sight of a white feather. She blinked and looked up to see a feather floating down towards her. She caught the feather in her hand and examined it as if it was the first unnatural thing she had seen. 

'What is this supposed to mean?' She blankly stared at the feather in her hands before letting it go and letting it drop to the floor. Suddenly she felt cold. A small breeze brushed passed her, causing her to get goosebumps. But they were indoors. How could she have felt that? What did it mean? 'A disgusting aura...'

Mute turned around to find nobody around. She was by herself when she had wandered off to an open space. Without giving it a second thought, she shook her head and returned back to the crowd to watch the curry festival continue. By the time she had returned it was time for the tasting & judging.

"Mute, you're just in time to try the curry." Miko walked over to her with a plate of curry in her hands. "I've only tried one and it was made by the Funtom Company butler." 

'She's talking about that demon...' Mute sulked with her thoughts before looking down at the plate in Miko's hands. 

"They said it's a Curry Bun. I think it's pretty good. You should try it." Miko held the plate up to Mute as she gently smiled at her. Mute sighed and gently took the bun off the plate. She examined it before taking a small bite. 

"Mm!" She blinked in surprise with a muffled yelp. It was like the first time she had ate something in so long. Then again, she never ate such meals. Only snacks at times. 

"It's good, isn't it?" 

"Mhm." Mute nodded. 

She suddenly turned her head, looking around to see people groan as a dark aura surrounded them. All of their eyes had turned red as they said, "Snuff out the unclean." As if they were possessed. Some turned to where Mute and Miko were, glaring at them as they repeated the same thing again. "Snuff out the unclean." 

"Unclean?" Miko questioned. Soon screams were heard and some people started to run towards the exit as Nina began to destroy everything in her sight as the spice from the curry possessed her. 

Mute glanced around at the possessed humans before her eyes widened. 

Look

That's her 

Crazy 

She's a monster 

A demon

'No...!' Mute slowly grabbed her head as the memories came flowing back. 'Block them out!' She growled. 'I have to...' 

"Grab her!" One of the puppets said as others ran towards her. 

"Mute! Look out!" Miko shouted her way. As the puppet came close to Mute, underneath her expressionless face...she smirked. 

"Monster! 
You get in my way
Imma feed you to my monster
Don't be so dramatic
Someone give this bitch an Oscar 
It's not my fault that you walked up into the slaughter
How would you feel if I gave it to your daughter? 

I don't think you're ready for this fire
Get too fucking close and I might just fucking burn ya
Yo
I don't really care what you desire
Cause the crazy side of me is just dying to meet ya~" 

Mute smirked as she sang her verse as shadows pushed away all the puppets that were just about to grab her. She giggled a bit, enjoying the emotion that went well with the song. At this point, Mute didn't care about exposer. Why not have a little fun? 

"Oh dear." Miko smirked while covering her mouth. Miko already knew who and what she was. After all, Miko wasn't human herself.

Her eyes were wide with excitement as she continued to sing her song. Her black wings spread out from behind her back and began attacking each puppet that was close by. Something had changed in her eyes. Everyone; Ciel and his servants, Agni, Soma, Ash, the Queen, and Sebastian. They were horrified of the sight...

Mute's hair was a lighter shade of pink as black markings appeared on her cheeks. Her skin turned pale as the pupils in her eyes became slit like a snake's. She hissed at those who attacked her with a smirk on her face. 

"So be it then." Miko smirked as her eyes glowed. One of the possessed humans went to attack Miko, but they were flung back by a pink parge fox tail. "Nothing but mindless puppets. At least make it entertaining for me." She clicked her tongue in disappointment. 

"Because the crazy side of me is just dying to meet ya~" 

Mute sang again as another dozen of possessed humans were pushed back. 'I can't kill them... I have to remember that they are being controlled by whatever was in that curry... I noticed those who had eaten the curry are possessed and those who ate that demon's cooking are not. I can't kill them.' She repeated. But the only problem was she couldn't return back to her other form. As much as she wanted to intentionally hurt the possessed, deep down she couldn't. She didn't have the full strength to. 

Miko knew this as well. She could grab Mute and make an escape. But with so many people around and puppets in the way, there wasn't an opportunity. 

Mute rushed to Sebastian's side with her back facing his. "Are you alright?" Sebastian asked without looking at her. 

"I am fine. Listen carefully. Your food might be the only way to turn these puppets back. Whatever was in that curry is what causing all of this." 

"You are certain about?" He smirked. Mute reached her hand out as a shadow rose up from the ground and pushed back a possessed to one of the tables. 

"It's a thought. I leave the rest to you..." Mute frowned as her body disappeared into a black mist. Disappearing as if she were a ghost. This worried Sebastian when seeing this but focused on ending this chaos.

I know! I cliff hanger! More will be revealed within the story :3 Before anybody asks, Yae Miko is going to be in the chapters with the MC a lot, so I will be using her from Genshin Impact. Yae Miko does not belong to me, so please no hate. 0_0
