Chapter 7
🐻🐻🐻
By the end of Love, Simon, everybody was either crying or just in such a soft mood, that for once, they were quiet. Woojin thanked for this, since that way they wouldn't wake Chan up. And also because the movie had put his mood down too.
Now it was time for each one of them to pick a room to pass the night. There were two rooms, each one arranged with four beds for the guys to sleep on them. It used to be three beds on each room since two new people were added to the group, so were two beds.
"I took Felix and Chan's backpack to the same room where I left mine earlier, so I guess they can simply stay there too," Changbin said, yawning.
"I'm okay with it," Felix said, "What about you, Channie?" he looked at Chan, looking for an answer, but all he got was an adorable Chan sleeping on Woojin's shoulder.
Jisung awed, and so did almost everybody in the room. And Woojin blushed a little bit.
"I'll take that as a yes," Seugmin said, "I'll sleep in that room too, seems like will be the quietest one, thankfully."
"That means we four get to sleep in the other room," Hyunjin said, pulling Jeongin into a hug with his arms around the youngest' shoulders.
And nobody said anything else, they just got up and started to clean up the mess a little bit. It's true that Woojin's house had a service team that would clean everything at the next day, but that didn't mean they were going to leave a mess in the room. As the boys tried to get some order in there, Woojin tried to wake Chan up.
"Chan~," he said, with a really soft tone, but Chan didn't react. "Channie~," he repeated, and Chan moved a little but didn't really open his eyes. Woojin felt stupid as he waited for Chan to say an "hmmm" like most people would do when somebody tried to wake them up, obviously, that wasn't going to happen with Chan.
Woojin sighed and decided to let carry Chan on his back instead of waking him up.
"Felix," Woojin called, "Can you help me here?" Felix nodded and ran to him.
Woojin turned around and let Felix help him get a sleeping Chan over his back. When he was sure Chan wouldn't fall from his back, he got up. His soul almost left his body when Chan tightened his grip on Woojin, still sleeping.
"This is really unusual," Felix said, and Woojin looked at him, like asking what he meant. "Channie hyung usually doesn't sleep early, he's had problems to fall asleep sinc—" he shut himself, "Sorry, that's not my story for me to tell it," he corrected. "Anyways, what I mean is, he seems to find comfort around you, Woojin hyung," Felix said, a smile that Woojin couldn't put a name to on his face.
Woojin left the room after Felix had finished talking, with a lot of thoughts on his mind. Did Chan feel comfortable with him? Is that so? Woojin wanted to scream like a fangirl since that would mean an advance on their friendship. And the other direction that his thoughts were taking was about that thing, or better said, the moment, that Felix was about to mention but then decided to not say anything.
Whatever it was, had to be something big if Chan had problems to sleep since then. He wondered if it had something to do with the fact that he couldn't speak. Woojin had thought about Chan's disability to speak more times than he would like to admit. Honestly speaking, Chan itself had been Woojin's one and only topic for the past week. Because the fact that meeting Chan showed him that the guy was even more interesting than what he'd imagined, had him mesmerized.
When Woojin got to the room where he was supposed to leave Chan in, he regretted l, for the first time, having his own room to sleep. He would've liked to observe Chan sleeping for a little longer, but he had no excuse to actually stay in that room. However, after leaving Chan carefully in one of the beds, he did stay for a few minutes.
"I hope that whatever it is that doesn't let you sleep at nights, leaves you alone for at least today," he said before abandoning the room, but he found Felix smiling at the door.
"That's the cutest thing anybody has ever said to Chan," Felix said, taking Woojin by surprise and making him blush.
Woojin laughed nervously and left the room. On his way to the Movie Night' saloon, he found Changbin and Seungmin walking to the room.
"Did the others leave already?" He asked.
"Yup," Seungmin answered him, "You can go to sleep, hyung," he said, patting on Woojin's shoulder.
Woojin nodded and went straight to his room, throwing himself into his springy bed, not even taking off his clothes. However, he didn't fall asleep until like an hour after. His mind was too filled with Chan and his questions about him to even sleep. He stared at the white ceiling of his room, thinking until he finally fell asleep. Resting until the knock on his door the next morning woke him up.

When Chan opened his eyes that Saturday and remembered falling asleep during the last movie, he felt terribly embarrassed. It was the first time he'd hang out with those whom he could consider his friend, and he fell asleep. He then realized that if he fell asleep, why was he on a bed and Felix sleeping on the bed next to him? How did he get there? And that's how he ended sitting on the bed just waiting for Felix to wake up, which didn't happen until half an hour later.
Felix made sure to tell him every little detail about how Woojin had carried him on his back and taken him to the bedroom. By the end, Chan was so red that an apple on it best moment couldn't compete against him. Thanks to god Jeongin entered the room at that moment and stopped Felix from making fun of Chan. After that, they took showers and went for breakfast. To Chan, it was really interesting how their breakfast was pancake and orange juice, in the American style. Woojin didn't show up for the breakfast and Minho said that he had texted him and Woojin didn't answer, which meant he was yet sleeping. They decided to let him rest.
The thing is, that it was 11 am and Chan was sitting on the border of the pool, observing the guys play around in the water. He hadn't gone into the pool yet, only letting his feet get soaked in the water. I wasn't really that cold since it was already mid-September, so they decided to use coolish water instead of just directly using tap water. Chan was wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt, part of which was already wet thanks to the splashes of water created by the boys inside the pool.
"Chan hyung!" Jeongin called him, "Why don't you come in? The water is nice!"
Chan laughed a little and made a movement with his finger, like spinning one around the other. Jeongin quickly understood that it meant he would enter later.
"Okay, then!" He said and went running (as fast as water would allow him) to the other side of the pool, escaping from Seungmin. Chan laughed at that scene.
Chan looked around, enjoying the soft breeze on his hair and the pretty scenario of Woojin's backyard. His eyes went to the porch, where he saw Woojin walking towards them with blue shorts and a black t-shirt on. Chan's face turned red instantly as he remembered Felix's story about how Woojin had carried him to the room. Now it didn't seem like a bad idea to jump into the pool, but... Oops, time's over. Woojin was already next to him.
"Woojin hyung!" Changbin yelled, "Did you rest well?"
"Yes, I did!" Woojin yelled back and Changbin showed a thumbs up, Woojin then sat next to Chan. "Hey, you don't want to get in the pool?" Woojin asked him.
Chan quickly got Didi out of his pocket and typed an answer.
I do want to. But like, I just wanted to enjoy the climate for a short while.
"Understandably, today's weather is really nice," Woojin agreed with him and Chan nodded. "Is Didi waterproof?" Woojin asked.
Actually, I'm not sure... He showed this to Woojin, and then went back to type, But I wouldn't dare ruin it after we just named it Didi.
"You're right, that would be a shame," Woojin nodded. "At all this, can you swim?"
Dear Kim Woojin, I'm mute, not invalid. Yes, I can swim.
"I was just asking," Woojin said, raising both of hands, showing his peaceful intentions. Chan laughed.
"Do you want to get in the pool now?" Chan nodded and let Didi a few feet away from the edge of the pool, where the water wouldn't reach it. "Let's go!" Woojin screamed right before jumping into the water and Chan couldn't help it but laugh at the sudden English and energy of the oldest one. But soon after he jumped into the water too.
The rest of the day went by between laughs and jokes, water and food, and more jokes and laugh. Definitely, one the best days Chan'd had in the past years. And it just got better when they got out of the pool around 4 pm. Because they all went to take showers and they were supposed to go get some snacks in the first floor, but big was Felix's and Jisung's surprise when Changbin and Minho got out of the kitchen, each one holding a small cake with candles that made up the words Lix and Sung.
Some of the service workers of Woojin's house threw balloons that probably only Woojin knew where they came from and iKon's B-Day started to play right after they finished singing happy birthday. Was fun how both cakes were equally decorated and both had written The Twins with topping. Making reference to the joke Jisung had made the day they met for the first time.
Somehow, the party was moved into the room where they were the night before, but this time was used as a karaoke. And watching Jisung sing to one of Orange Caramel's song was hilarious. And just any song that came up would be changed into a hilariously funny thing all of sudden. Like watching Jeongin sing trot or Minho dancing to Fake Love.
At some point, between all the chaos and laughter, Chan found himself simply looking at everybody move around and have fun. Especially Felix, who was dancing to Bang Bang Bang with Hyunjin while Jisung was singing. For an instant, all the noise and disorder around him disappeared, and all that was left was the blissful and joyful expression of those surrounding him, and he felt great. He felt happy. He, for once, after the storm, felt the calmness. He felt like it was the dawn after his midnight. He felt grateful for being alive and for everything else. And before he could stop it, a few tears were already rolling down his cheeks.
When Felix and Seungmin looked at him with worried eyes, all he was able to say was: "I'm so happy," before both Seungmin and Felix ran to hug him. And the other ones ran towards him too. All of them engulfing him into a tight hug that made him smile widely.
